Opis:
Tematem pracy jest kompleksowy proces modelowania geometrycznego i numerycznego żuchwy człowieka od momentu akwizycji danych z rzeczywistego obiektu (badanie tomograficzne pacjenta CT) poprzez wirtualne odtworzenie geometrii, a na obliczeniach stanu naprężeń, przemie¬szczeń i odkształceń pod wpływem sił pochodzących od głównych grup mięśniowych kończąc. Badaniu poddano trzy modele żuchwy: kość zdrowa, po resekcji prawej części (wskutek przebytej choroby onkologicznej) i kość z aplazją obu gałęzi. W badaniu wykorzystano oprogramowanie Mimics i Adina.
A complex process of geometrical and numerical modeling of human jaw is the main subject of the paper. The process begins with CT (Computed Tomography) data acquisition from a real object. Next, geometrical virtual modeling follows and, finally, the process ends with calculation of strain-stress state and displacement caused by the forces of the main muscles, i.e. musculi masseter and musculi temporalis. Three models of jaw were studied, i.e. a model of the healthy jaw, a model of the jaw after resection of the right part and a model of the jaw with aplasia of the two jaw branches. In the studies the programs Mimics (geometry reconstruction) and Adina (finite element analysis) were utilised.

Opis:
In this article a two-stage technology for constituting surface layers is proposed. First, the material is subjected to initial hardening by burnishing and next to a nitriding process. The surface layer after such processing should have considerably better strength properties compared to those created through a conventional nitriding process. A description of the state of the surface layer after these stages of the proposed process is obtained by defining suitable energy states for the materials. These states are expressed by residual strain and stress function and also by the functions of external work during the burnishing process and thermal energy given in the nitriding process. Methods of identifying the above functions through experimental research on the residual stress state and selected parameters of the surface layer, and also through numerical analysis of the coupled processes, are also proposed. The main part of the work consists in the mathematical description of complex deformation phenomena occurring in the material during the proposed process. In the given description, coupled stress fields appear as a result of the additivity of elastic, plastic, thermal, diffusional, and phase strains.

Opis:
The paper presents influence of diverse shapes and dimensions of carbon nanostructures on physical properties of polymer composites. Graphene nanoplatelets, carbon nanotubes, graphite nanofibers, and graphite microflakes have been investigated as fillers in polymethacrylate resin. Layers were deposited with printing techniques used in printed electronics technology such as screen printing and spray coating, both elaborated in our earlier works. Different sets of measurements have been performed for obtained layers with particular carbon nanofillers. Thickness and topography have been examined using optical profilometer. Morphology of nanostructures has been observed with scanning electron microscope. Moreover, sheet resistivity and optical transmission in visible wavelength have been measured. Also mechanical properties have been characterized for each polymer composite by conducting fatigue test which consisted of multiple bending cycles.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of the investigation into fl exible layers based on carbon nanotubes used as measuring layer in forcesensor. Results of mechanical fatigue tests show that carbon nanotubes layers are good for reinforcing or as a conductive additive in composite materials. Composition of carbon nanotubes in PMMA polymer resin was prepared by modifi ed mixing process used in thick film material preparation. Sensor structure was fabricated by printing polymer-nanotube areas with polymer-silver paths as connection electrodes on polyester substrate foil. Second type of sensors was prepared with two comb electrodes and single carbon measuring layer. Composite materials were fabricated with diff erent amount of nanotube content: 0,25 wt%, 0,5 wt%, 1 wt% and 2 wt% multiwall carbon naotubes (MWCNT). Diff erent types of carbon-composites measuring layers were compared in the experiment. Results of mechanical fatigue tests conducted on carbon nanotubes layers showed that composition with polymer resin have good adhesion to polymer surface. Experiment shows CNT are good for reinforcing or as a conductive additive in diff erent composite materials. Results of the observations show that dependence between sensor resistance and force tension is linear in logarithmic scale and similar for diff erent samples. Resistance between sensor electrodes was measured for force tension changes in range.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to produce heterophasic graphene nanoplatelets based formulation designed for ink-jet printing and biomedical applications. The compositions should meet two conditions: should be cytocompatible and have the rheological properties that allow to apply it with ink-jet printing technique. In view of the above conditions, the selection of suspensions components, such as binder, solvent and surfactants was performed. In the first stage of the research the homogeneity of the dispersion of nanoplatelets and their sedimentation behaviour in diverse solutions were tested. Subsequently, the cytotoxicity of each ink on human mesenchymal stem cells was examined using the Alamar Blue Test. At the same time the rheology of the resulting suspensions was tested. As a result of these tests the best ink composition was elaborated: water, polyethylene glycol, graphene nanoplatelets and the surfactant from DuPont company.
