Opis:: The aim of this paper is twofold. First, we formulate a mathematical model for the analysis of waves propagating in a linear-elastic composite, which in every plane normal to a certain straight line has an identical periodic structure. Secong, we apply the derived model equations to the investigations of waves propagating across a laminated medium with periodically folded laminae. Lower and higher propagation speeds for the longtudinal and transversal waves are calculated and for the long waves represented in the form of simple asymptotic formulas.
W artykule przedstawiono dwa problemy. Po pierwsze, sformułowano matematyczny model umożliwiający badanie propagacji fal w liniowo-sprężystych kompozytach, dla których każda płaszczyzna prostopadła do pewnej prostej ma taką samą dwuwymiarową strukturę periodyczną. Po drugie, otrzymany model zastosowano do analizy propagacji fal w laminacie o periodycznie pofałdowanych warstwach. Dla przypadku tego wyznaczono niższą i wyższą prędkość fazową propagacji, które w przypadku fal długich dają się wyrazić za pomocą prostych formuł asymptotycznych.

Opis:: The macroscopic mathematical models of the heat transfer in micro-periodic solids, obtained by the tolerance averaging approach, are represented by the partial differential equation for the averaged temperature field and the system of ordinary differential equations involving time derivates of certain extra unknown fields which are called internal thermal variables, cf Woźniak (2000). It follows that in the framework of the aforementioned tolerance models the boundary conditions for temperature can be imposed exclusively on the averaged temperature field. The aim of this contribution is to show how the tolerance averaging technique can be extended in order to satisfy the boundary conditions on higher level of accuracy.
Uśrednianie tolerancyjne i równania warstwy brzegowej dla przewodnictwa ciepła w ośrodku mikroperiodycznym. Modele makroskopowe przewodnictwa ciepła w ośrodku mikroperiodycznym, sformułowane na drodze uśredniania tolerancyjnego (modele tolerancyjne), są reprezentowane równaniem różniczkowym cząstkowym dla uśrednionego pola temperatury oraz równaniami różniczkowymi zwyczjnymi zawierającymi pochodne czasowe pewnych dodatkowych niewiadomych, zwanych termicznymi zmiennymi wewnętrznymi, Woźniak (2000). Niewiadome te opisują zaburzenia pola temperatury spowodowane periodyczną mikroniejednorodnością ośrodka. Tym samym w ramach modeli tolerancyjnych, warunki brzegowe mogą być określane tylko dla uśrednionego pola temperatury. Celem opracowania jest pokazanie, jak metoda tolerancyjnego uśredniania równań może być rozszerzona w celu zapewnienia dokładniejszego spełnienia warunków brzegowych.

Opis:: The construction of an underground railway system is a very demanding building investment. It requires great concentration of a building potential over an exceptionally vast area. On the one hand, the building site covers a vast densely built-up urban area and on the other, a tunnel is actually excavated over a small space covered by its "front" and interior. The above conditions are extraordinary both because of the technical difficulties of the works to be carried out and high precision required by individual construction elements. Another problem is the disturbance of geotechnical stability of the ground and the ensuing dangers posed for the adjacent buildings. The paper presents all basic elements of geodetic activities connected with the underground construction, from the designing stage up to construction works.

Opis:: This paper analyses the idea of applying Swarm Intelligence in the process of managing the entire 2D board game in a real-time environment. For the proposed solution Game Management System is used as a cloud resource with a dedicated intelligent control agent. The described approach has been analysed on the basis of board games like mazes. The model and the control algorithm of the system is described and examined. The results of the experiments are presented and discussed to show possible advantages and isadvantages of the proposed method.

Opis:: Purpose: In the article, the kinetic growth phenomena of aluminide coating formed by plasma spraying pure Al-Si powder and subsequent diffusion annealing on TiAl intermetallic alloy in inert atmosphere were investigated. Design/methodology/approach: The Al-Si powder was thermal sprayed (APS) on TiAl7Nb intermetallic alloy and annealed in Ar atmosphere during 5, 15, 30, 60, 240 and 480 min. The kinetic growth of the coating was observed using the scanning electron microscopy method (SEM), and chemical composition was analysed using the EDS method. Findings: The Kirkendall Effects pores formation, as well as titanium silicides on the grain boundary of TiAl3, was found. Research limitations/implications: The oxidation resistance of the developed coating might be analysed in further work. Practical implications: The developed coating might be used for the production of protective aluminide coatings on TiAl intermetallic alloys. Originality/value: The description of aluminide coating formation in a new technological process.

Opis:: The engine valvetrain system operating under insufficient oil lubrication conditions, caused by an incorrect installation of the gasket between the block and the head, was tested. The aim of the analysis was to determine the wear intensity and resistance to motion in camshaft bearings. A model including a camshaft, bearings, tappet-valve-spring subassemblies and a part of the lubrication system was developed. It was used to determine the bearing loads and the amount of oil supplied. The volumetric wear of the camshaft journals and bearing covers was measured. For the estimated engine run, the wear rate and resistance to motion were compared for the cases of the engine with correct and incorrect lubrication.
