Opis:
Jana Jaremskiego. Wspomniane rozwiązanie zostało z powodzeniem zastosowane w praktyce i wiele wskazuje na to iż, obecna metodyka określania nośności fundamentów pośrednich znacząco niedoszacowuje możliwości przenoszenia obciążeń przez takie fundamenty.
The paper presents a description of the foundations used in Rzeszów on Podkarpacie icemarginal valley area. The methods of building foundation used in the past were compared to those dominant currently. The advantages and limitations of the various foundation solutions were indicated. In the context of the specific soil and water conditions occuring in Rzeszów, attention was directed to the alternative method of indirect foundation. New approach is Rzeszow piles - a concept developed by prof. Jan Jaremski. This solution was been successfully applied in practice. A many point to the fact that the current methodology for determining the bearing capacity of indirect foundations was underestimated for possibility of the load transferability by such foundations.

Opis:
Networks in the retail trade are a manifestation of the tendency to concentrate and integrate this form of economic activity. The paper deals with the distribution aspect of the spatial organization of several retail networks in Poland, their size and spatial range, and in particular the location of the nodes of these networks in cities and towns. Currently, the size of the city or town has a considerable impact on the presence of this kind of trade and the number of outlets (hypermarkets, supermarkets, discount shops). Hypermarkets and supermarkets are present in all Polish cities with a population over 100,000, and discount shops in cities and towns with a population over 50,000.

Opis:
The tourism researchers point to the so-called trade tourism on one hand, white on the other they emphasize the close relation between leisure and entertainment. As for the subject of this study - the relation between one of the forms of shopping sites and the possibility of spending leisure time in a shopping centre - none of the above factors can be considered irrelevant. The geographical factors, however, such as the place of residence and the location of the tourist attractions, become particularly significant. The latter should be specifically emphasized, as the distribution of shopping centres is extremely irregular. Their placement reveals various degrees, depending on the country, of big cities' domination in this respect. Within the town area itself their distribution is not regular either, which may cause specific difficulties in accessing them. Many people still associate shopping with an ordinary activity, the essence of which is purchasing particular types of material goods which determine regular functioning of a family or of an individual. More often now, however, a multidimensional and multilevel nature of this kind of human activity manifests itself. This is connected with social transformations affecting people's life styles, values, household structures and women's professional activity. Emphasizing the role of free time and leisure activities in the life of individuals and groups makes it particularly necessary to carry out geographical research with regard to the mutual relationship between traditional shopping and "going shopping" as a form of leisure activity. E.L. Jackson (1991, 283) distinguished four major types of relationship between shopping and leisure: (1) lack of mutual relationship (shopping as purchasing of goods), (2) leisure "supporting'' shopping, (3) shopping and leisure, and (4) leisure shopping (Fig. 1). The latter is best described by a term developed in the German literature and difficult to translate into Polish – the concept of Erlebniseinkauf (Gerhard 1998). According to U. Gerhard (1998) the specific nature of Erlebniseinkauf is walking around numerous shops with no special purpose, spontaneous on-impulse shopping, very often buying goods to just have them rather than to use them. This kind of going shopping is often performed in the company of a relative or a friend, the things purchased, however, are most often bought for the shopper him- or herself rather than for the others (except for buying presents). An important component of such shopping scheme is eating out at any of the dining places offered on premises - snack bars, cafés, and restaurants, often offering ethnic food. All these factors are important, yet they must be accompanied by a specific atmosphere. With such requirements, it is not surprising that a shopping centre (shopping and leisure centre) is an place to be associated more and more often with not just shopping, but also with spending leisure time in a pleasant way. Numerous decorative elements of the centre, as well as its general layout also serve meeting the requirements in relation to leisure shopping. A category of important tourist attraction centres is undoubtedly the Mall of America (MoA). The biggest (390,000 m² of surface) shopping and entertainmeot complex in the United States of America was started in 1992. Gradually, similar objects appeared in West Europe countries, and then also in post-Communist countries (including Poland). The research carried out in 12 European countries among thousands of shopping centres clients indicate that the most numerous group of visitors are exactly the pleasure-seeking shoppers.

Opis:
The rapid growth of the entrepreneurship in Poland in the 1990s applies in a particular manner to the service sector. Abolition of the limitations to the estate market, coupled with the great demand for the new surfaces (both for commerce and housing), led to the emergence of the numerous estate agencies providing respective intermediation - mainly in large towns. The present paper, founded upon the questionnaire-based study conducted among the owners of the estate agencies in Warsaw and in the neighbouring communes, constitutes an attempt of characterisation of the primary location factors (as perceived by the owners of the estate agencies) and of the areas of the preferred translocations of these economic agents in the space of Warsaw. The estate agencies are distributed in the space of Warsaw according to their specific hierarchy of the location factor groups: i) transport-wise accessibility; ii) character of the closest vicinity of the agency; iii) local surface availability; iv) specific nature of services offered. Detailed analysis of the factors made it possible to establish that the most important of them, decisive for the location of the agencies in downtown Warsaw is, in the opinion of the agency owners, the representative nature of the surrounding (prestige of the quarter, image, „good address”). For the agencies functioning in the communes neighbouring with the capital city the most important are the planned investments of the town/commune, which can entail an increased number of customers. As distance from the centre of Warsaw increases, the significance of public transport in ensuring transport accessibility decreases, to the advantage of an own car. The analysis of translocation directions indicates a constant tendency towards concentration of the agencies in the central areas of Warsaw. Downtown Warsaw is also most frequently quoted as the goal area for agency location, both in case of those which are already functioning there (the wish of preserving previous location), and of the ones from the remaining communes of Warsaw (the planned change of location).

Opis:
Przedstawiono badania wykończeniowej obróbki ściernej stopu Inconel 617, prowadzone w IZTW z użyciem ściernic z CBN o spoiwie ceramicznym, żywicznym i galwanicznym.
The research tests of abrasive finishing of Inconel 617 alloy carried out at the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IZTW) are presented in the paper. The tests were performed with use of CBN grinding wheels with vitrified and resinous bonds - made by IZTW and with grinding wheels with galvanic bond - made by Inter-Diament Company in accordance with the technical characteristic determined by IZTW. The test results of vitrified, resinous and galvanic bonded grinding wheels, when grinding Inconel 617, depending on the grinding wheel characteristics and parameters of grinding are given. The surface quality of the machined samples was evaluated by 2D and 3D measurements of the surface topography and shape. The 2D measurement results of the samples surface after grinding are presented in Tab. 2. The material removal rate Qw [mm3/min] (Fig. 1a) and sample surface roughness Ra [Μm] (Fig. 1b) are shown on the diagrams. The test results confirmed the correctness of the cBN grain type and grade selection and showed increase in the cutting properties of the resinous and vitrified bonded grinding wheels together with contents the pore-forming constituent type "A" of 12% vol. These grinding wheels ensure better quality of the ground surfaces of Inconel 617 [3].
