    Z uwagi na to, że praktycznie niezbadaną sferą pozostaje wizerunek księcia pomorskiego Bogusława X w tekstach kultury, oraz że w 2023 i 2024 roku związane są z nim dwie ważne rocznice, artykuł Obraz Bogusława X w tekstach historiograficznych do końca XIX wieku związany jest z wizerunkiem Bogusława X w wybranych tekstach historiograficznych dotyczących Pomorza, publikowanych do końca XIX wieku. Przeanalizowano w nim obraz władcy, stawiając w centrum kwestie fikcjonalności tekstualnej zawartej w tym korpusie tekstów. Analiza jest wsparta instrumentarium analizy narratywnej w tradycji mitomotorycznej. Zwraca uwagę tekstowy potencjał życiorysu księcia. Konstatacją wywodu jest daleko idąca instrumentalizacja postaci, dokonywana w zależności od kontekstu społeczno-politycznego, w którym funkcjonowała dana publikacja, a także od światopoglądu autora czy intencji wydawcy, względnie mecenasa. Wszystkie analizowane teksty ukazują wnioskowanie symboliczne z wydarzeń przeszłych, reflektujące na teraźniejszość i przyszłość danego narratora. Z tego wynika interakcja między każdorazowym nadawcą a odbiorcą poszczególnych tekstów, zasadzająca się na wierze poszczególnych narratorów w polityczne sprawstwo ich opowieści. Zwraca przy tym uwagę mnogość wyjaśnień dla wielokrotnych reaktualizacji mitu.
    Given the virtually unexplored realm of the image of the Pomeranian Duke Bogusław X in texts of culture and the importance of the anniversaries related to him in 2023 and 2024, the article “The portrayal of Bogusław X in historiographical texts until the end of the 19th century” delves into the depiction of Bogusław X in selected historiographical texts concerning Pomerania published until the end of the 19th century. The article analyzes the presented image of the ruler, focusing on the issue of textual fiction contained in this corpus of texts. The analysis is supported by the tools of narrative analysis in the myth-motif tradition. The article emphasizes the textual potential of the duke’s life story. The conclusion drawn from the discourse is the extensive instrumentalization of the character, which depends on the socio-political context in which a given publication operated, as well as the author’s worldview or the intentions of the publisher or patron. All the analyzed texts demonstrate symbolic reasoning from past events, reflecting on the present and future of each narrator. This results in an interaction between each sender and the recipient of individual texts, based on the belief of the respective narrators in the political agency of their stories. It also highlights the multitude of explanations for the repeated reactualization of the myth.

    Die Geschichte über den groben Pommern wird seit fast einem halben Jahrtausend – jeweils von voneinander unabhängigen Redakteuren – immer wieder revidiert und modifiziert. Sie wurde von ca. 35 Autoren in ca. 40 Fassungen publiziert. Ihre Wurzeln muten anekdotisch an; sie wurde in epischen, lyrischen und dramatischen Texten bearbeitet. Sie nahm Bezug auf ein altbewährtes, negativ konnotiertes Stereotyp über die Region Pommern und ihre Bewohner. Auf der einen Seite zeigte sie die Wahrnehmung der autochthonen Bevölkerung, auf der anderen Seite bot aber auch einen Umgang mit diesem nachteilig behafteten Bild an. Der Beitrag vergleicht einzelne Varianten der Geschichte und deutet diese imagologisch.
    Opowieść o nieokrzesanym Pomorzaninie wciąż bywa rewidowana i publikowana – przez niezależnych od siebie redaktorów – od niemal połowy tysiąclecia. Była modyfikowana przez około 35 autorów w około 40 wersjach. Jej korzenie wydają się anegdotyczne; doczekała się adaptacji w tekstach prozatorskich, lirycznych i dramatycznych. Odnosiła się do utrwalonego stereotypu o negatywnych konotacjach, dotyczącego regionu Pomorza i jego mieszkańców. Z jednej strony ukazywała ona postrzeganie ludności autochtonicznej, z drugiej zaś oferowała sposób radzenia sobie z tym obciążonym wizerunkiem. Artykuł porównuje poszczególne warianty opowieści i interpretuje je imagologicznie.
    The story about the rough Pomeranian has been repeatedly revised and published – by editors who have been independent of each other – for almost half a millennium. It has been modi-fied by about 35 authors in about 40 versions. Its roots seem anecdotal; it has been adapted in epic, lyrical and dramatic texts. It referred to a long-established stereotype with negative con-notations about the region of Pomerania and its inhabitants. On the one hand, it showed the perception of the autochthonous population, but on the other hand, it also offered a way of dealing with this detrimentally tainted image. The article compares individual variants of the story and interprets them imagologically.

    Der Artikel analysiert sechs Sagen um den legendären mittelalterlichen Seeräuber Klaus Störtebeker. Fünf von ihnen entstanden an der Wendezeit vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert, also zu dem Zeitpunkt, als seine Geschichte eine besondere Popularität genoss, die sechste stammt aus der ersten umfangreichen Anthologie der Sagen von Pommern. Klaus Störtebeker wird am häufigsten mit Hamburg und der Nordsee an der Elbe-Mündung in Verbindung gebracht. In verschiedenen Fassungen der Sage können jedoch zahlreiche Elemente mit Bezug auf Pommern gefunden werden, die in einzelnen Texten unterschiedlich gestaltet sind. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden sie miteinander verglichen und analysiert.
    The paper analyses six folk tales on the legendary pirate Klaus Störtebeker. The topic, known from the middle ages, was written down in the 19th century. Five of the works of reference come from the turn of the 20th century, as the Klaus Störtebeker story reached the peak of its popularity. The sixth comes from the first voluminous anthology of the Pomeranian folk tales. Klaus Störtebeker is connected with Hamburg and the North Sea at mouth of the Elbe River the most often. However, in different versions of its tale there are many elements with reference to Western Pomerania that can be found. As they are shaped differently, the paper compares and analyses them.
    Artykuł analizuje sześć podań ludowych, dotyczących legendarnego pirata Klausa Störtebekera. Pięć z nich powstało na przełomie XIX i XX wieku, kiedy opowieść osiągnęła szczyt popularności, szósta pochodzi z pierwszej obszernej antologii zachodniopomorskich podań ludowych. Klaus Störtebeker najczęściej kojarzony jest z Hamburgiem i Morzem Północnym u ujścia Łaby. W różnych wersjach podania można jednak odnaleźć liczne elementy dotyczące Pomorza Zachodniego. Ponieważ elementy te ulegały modyfikacjom, poszczególne teksty zostały poddane analizie porównawczej.

    Der Artikel behandelt die Problematik der Mythen an der Schwelle des 20. Jahrhunderts in Pommern, die in der damals geschriebenen Regionalliteratur gefunden werden konnten – oder auch nicht. Der Autor analysiert drei Beispiele: Zwei von ihnen sind traditionelle Elemente des pommerschen Kulturerbes in ihrer Gestalt um 1900, das dritte ist ein fehlgeschlagener Versuch, einen Lokalmythos in Stettin am Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts zu etablieren. Die analysierten Texte wurden in Büchern und auf sonstigen Trägern (z. B. Postkarten) veröffentlicht, oder aber sind als handschriftliche anonyme Manuskripte erhalten geblieben.
    This article tackles the topic of regional myths at the turn of the 20th century in the Pomeranian region as found – or not – in literary works written at the time in that region. The author analyzes three examples of myths: two of them are traditional elements of the Pomeranian cultural heritage, as shaped around 1900; the third is a failed attempt to create a local (Szczecin) myth at the turn of the 20th century and the following years. The analyzed texts were published in books and elsewhere (e. g. on postcards) or could be found as anonymous pieces, saved in handwritten copies.
    W artykule podjęto wątek regionalnych mitów u zarania XX wieku w regionie Pomorza Zachodniego, które można znaleźć – lub też nie – w dziełach literackich stworzonych tu w tym okresie. Autor analizuje trzy przykłady mitów: dwa z nich stanowią tradycyjne elementy zachodniopomorskiej schedy kulturowej, w kształcie, jaki przybrały one około roku 1900; trzeci to nieudana próba wykreowania lokalnego (szczecińskiego) mitu na początku XX wieku. Analizowane teksty były publikowane w książkach oraz na innych nośnikach (np. kartach pocztowych), albo też zachowały się jako anonimowe odręczne zapiski.

    Der Beitrag schildert im Überblick Publikationen, die sich mit der Literaturgeschichte Pommerns auseinandersetzen, und konzentriert sich auf das 2013 erschienene Buch Roswitha Wisniewskis. Trotz einer relativ langen Tradition der Schreib- und Lesekultur sowie einer hohen Anzahl von Autoren, die nicht nur im 20. Jahrhundert in Pommern agierten, wurde die Geschichte der Regionalliteratur Pommerns bis heute in ihrer Ganzheit nicht ausführlich bearbeitet. Die Publikation Roswitha Wisniewskis bietet einen ersten solide fundierten und relativ umfassenden Überblick über die Literatur in Pommern von ihren Anfängen bis heute. Einige wenige Anmerkungen zur Geschichte, die die einiges zu wünschen übrig lassenden Bereiche markieren, ändern wenig an der gewichtigen Allgemeinbedeutung der Publikation.
    The article provides an overview on publications that tackle the history of literature of Pomerania, concentrating on the book by Roswitha Wisniewski, published in German in 2013. Despite a relatively long tradition a culture of reading and writing and a massive number of authors who have been active in Pomerania not only in the 20th century, a history of regional literature has not yet been captured and described in its entirety. The publication by Roswitha Wisniewski offers the very first thoroughly edited and relatively lengthy review of the development of literature in Pomerania from its beginnings until today. The few notes on aspects that leave a little to be desired do not change the comprehensive importance of the book.
    Artykuł stanowi przegląd publikacji, zajmujących się historią literatury Pomorza Zachodniego, i koncentruje się na opublikowanej w 2013 roku niemieckojęzycznej książce Roswithy Wisniewski. Mimo względnie długiej tradycji kultury czytelnictwa i piśmiennictwa oraz wysokiej liczby autorów, którzy tworzyli na Pomorzu Zachodnim nie tylko w XX w., historia literatury regionalnej nie została do dziś opracowana całościowo. Publikacja Roswithy Wisniewski oferuje pierwszy rzetelnie opracowany i stosunkowo obszerny przegląd historii literatury na Pomorzu Zachodnim od jej początków po dzień dzisiejszy. Nieliczne uwagi, wskazujące wątki pozostawiające nieco do życzenia, nie zmieniają oceny istotności tej publikacji.
