Opis:: The restructuring of the State Forests National Forest Holding activity also covered the functioning of the existing forest building infrastructure in the forest district administrations. Lectures held for students at the Forestry Department include the issues related to proper management of buildings. In the paper I present the issues and specificity of forest building engineering, as well as problems connected with the sales of buildings offered by the State Forests National Forest Holding in 2003 and 2004. The differentiation in the functioning of forest building infrastructure was depicted in the research carried out in a number of forest districts in the Forest Utilisation Department. In the author's opinion the main problems to be solved are connected with the rational use of the buildings.

Opis:: Prowadzona restrukturyzacja działalności Państwowego Gospodarstwa Leśnego LP objęła także funkcjonowanie budynków w nadleśnictwach. W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia i specyfikę budownictwa leśnego oraz problem sprzedaży budynków w PGL LP w okresie 1999-2008 roku. Na podstawie prac badawczych realizowanych w Katedrze Użytkowania Lasu wskazano różnice w wykorzystaniu budynków w nadleśnictwach. Dla zobrazowania procesu sprzedaży budynków w RDLP przeprowadzono analizę nieruchomości przeznaczonych do sprzedaży i ogłoszonych w "Biuletynie Informacyjnym Lasów Państwowych". Obiekty budowlane podzielone na dziewięć grup zgodnie z określonym rodzajem zabudowy i sposobem zagospodarowania w ogłoszeniu do sprzedaży. Przedstawiono najważniejsze zdaniem autorów problemy do rozwiązania mające zapewnić racjonalne wykorzystanie budynków.
The restructuring of the State Forests National Forest Holding activity also covered the functioning of the existing forest building infrastructure in the forest district administrations. In the paper I present the issues and specificity of forest building engineering, as well as problems connected with the sales of buildings offered by the State Forests National Forest Holding in 1999-2008. To illustrate the process of selling buildings in RDSF, an analysis of real estates foreseen for sale and listed in the "Information Bulletin of State Forests" in 1999 to 2008 was carried out. The buildings were divided into nine groups taking into consideration the type of building and the management method specified in the notice of sale. The differentiation in the functioning of forest building infrastructure was depicted in the research carried out in a number of forest districts in the Forest Utilization Department. In the author's opinion the main problems to be solved are connected with the rational use of the buildings.

Opis:: The economic development of the country is very much dependent on the development of the transport infrastructure, which is one of the main priorities of the state policy included in the planning and development documents. Ensuring a efficiently functioning transport system, primarily the network of roads, involves the need to improve the technical characteristics of existing roads or to build new sections. With the linear nature of road investments, we deal with interference in significant areas that have direct and indirect effects. The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of investments realized for different categories of public roads on the area of land needed to be excluded from forest production. The structure and area of the land as well as the number of forest superintendents transferred areas were also analyzed. The study was conducted for forest areas managed by the State Forests National Forest Holding (SF NFH). Data on the area of the transferred forest land was obtained from SF NFH units and the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). In the years 2012−2015, SF NFH units transferred the land into the management of GDDKiA 203 times with the total area of 617 ha. In the same period, the transfer of the land ownership to local government for voivodship, county and municipal roads took place in 388 cases and covered 556.6 ha. Since 2003 (i.e when special act on road investments came into force), the area of the transferred land amounted to 282.7 ha in Toruń, 78.6 ha in Gdańsk and 558.4 ha in Poznań regional directorates of the State Forests. There was a decrease in the area of the transferred lands depending on the category of public roads, while the highest number of events for municipal roads was observed. There is a great variability in the time, number and area of property transferred to public roads.

Opis:: Making transportation possible in forest areas is essential for forest management to ensure the protection of tree stands (fire access roads, forest monitoring) and use (in situ sales of wood), as well as for tourism and educational purposes. The units of the State Forests National Forest Holding optimize the spatial and quantitative network of roads, but as the manager of the National Treasury's assets, they must ensure that forest roads are in adequate condition. An attempt was made to analyze the technical condition of forest roads based on data from the Information System of the State Forests and to determine their repair and investment needs. Over 50% of all forest roads in the areas managed by the State Forests are still natural, unpaved roads, and 25% of them are considered to be in bad condition. The general technical condition of transportation routes is better, as roads providing unlimited traffic in good and satisfactory condition amount to 43,348 km (41% of all roads). 48% of main roads connected with public roads, which are the primary communication system of forest districts, are in good and satisfactory condition. The analysis shows that 24% (13,000 km) of main roads generally have a dirt surface or improved dirt surface, whereas 5,500 km of roads serving as fire access roads are in bad condition, requiring repair or reconstruction. The use of unpaved surfaces requires maintenance and repair work to ensure the ability to sustain load capacities and parameters enabling use by high−tonnage vehicles for timber hauling and extinguishing fires. It is estimated that on average 5.4% of roads need main− tenance work per year, which is equivalent to almost 5,760 km. The quantitative optimization of roads contributed to an increase in the importance and load of the current forest road network, where main roads represent 52% and fire access roads 47%, connected with the need to ensure appropriate technical parameters through the reconstruction of sections of roads.
