Opis:
Strategic planning and development is a critical yet often overlooked issue in company's operations. The planning of development as well as addressing the distribution of available resources should be done systematically rather than instinctively however, many companies still do not have any reliable method that would facilitate the decision making processes at their disposal. This article aims at presenting the innovative analytical method- Balanced Critical Factor Index (BCFI) for addressing the need for change in company's operational strategy according to changes in available technology and knowledge. By examining a wide array of indexes, the presented method is expected to suggest the directions of development. The presented method also addresses the challenges of the complex process of decision-making. Moreover, the empirical evidence gathered in the studied case company serves as a source of important feedback regarding the further improvement of the BCFI method.

Opis:
This short analysis presents perspective and a holistic method for approaching and measuring customer satisfaction. The Balanced Critical Factor Index (BCFI) method is a measurement tool to indicate which attribute of a business process is critical and which is not, based on the experience and expectations of the company’s employees, customers or business partners. This paper focuses on to detect and define critical business processes and factors, which have influence to effective co-operation and customer satisfaction. The use of a questionnaire is one of the most efficient approaches to gather the required information. Due to the fact that each process has its own attributes and the questionnaires cannot be standardized, but the information from the phase is essential and could be measured. In this study case company’s all gathered information will be analyzed and furthermore the BCFI measurement tools will be applied. The original research has been testified that, with the above-mentioned method (BCFI) customer’s experience of the “gap” between expected and received service can be easily resolved. Using this BCFI method it is also possible to find easier so called “weak” customer satisfaction indicators, which are not directly obvious. Companies have crucial to take the right decisions upon the areas of business interest. To have it done, the company should have able to made decisions with the right amount of customer’s needs. The correct allocation and fast adaption of customer’s needs with the right amount of standards is a key to competitive advantage. This paper shows use of this BCFI method and how it could help companies to define there’s customer’s needs and required development target area more specifically.

This study demonstrates utilization of Sense and Respond method for developing operations within housing markets by Critical Factor Index (CFI) having influence even on the strategic business performance. CFIs of knowledge intensive businesses can be measured and dynamically developed by Sense & Respond philosophy [1]. The purpose is to evaluate operative business performance in two quite different cases within quite big real estate businesses in Finland. For example, relationships with the customers, processes and possibilities for growth internally by different groups of respondents, 'hosting', 'management' and 'rent', were compared between the cases. One case company has a lot of more social housing compared to another. The work aims at finding out and understanding similarities and differences in business processes by Balanced Score Card (BSC) and by much more operations oriented OP questionnaires, and by deeper interviews in the case companies as well. BSC questionnaire has been supported by an important part of trust related factors as well. We could find similarities like: openness, customer, communication between different departments and hierarchy levels, utilizing different types of organizing systems; adaptation to knowledge and technology, utilizing different types of organizing systems. A new method for dynamic resource allocations in the operative processes in housing, especially in renting, where the customers move from one apartment to another one, has been proposed, it was validated and verified by weak and semi strong market tests in two quite big but different case companies. The preliminary but promising findings can be applicable for the whole market.

Opis:
The Thai automotive industry has been ranked one of the top ten of the Thai export products for several years. Effective supply chain management has become a key strategy for the industry to stay competitive. Performance measurement has thus become a crucial issue in automotive supply chains. The purpose of the research is to gain insight into the relevant performance attributes that affect the automotive supply chains. The critical factor indexes (CFIs) are calculated in order to determine which of the performance attributes are considered to be the strength and which ones need to be specially focused, so that precautions could be made in developing the performance measurement system. Based on the CFIs, companies in Thai automotive supply chains can support their decision making under scarce resources with valid data. A set of questionnaires with different performance attributes is used comprising of two separate parts, one intended for the first tier supplier companies and the other for the automakers. Each performance attribute in the questionnaires is assessed on how important the company sees them from their perspective, how well the tasks measured by each performance attribute have been carried out in their companies, how they see themselves compared to their competitors, and how they see each performance attribute developing compared to the situation 1 to 2 years before. The results provide a guideline to the companies in Thai automotive supply chains to measure the right performance attributes for making the right decision in a competitive environment.

It is a core content of enterprise performance research evaluating and comparing enterprise performance in dynamic environment. In allusion to this problem, a variety of enterprise performance assessment methods and indexes systems are proposed. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a kind of effective mathematical model which is used for comparing the performance among enterprises or different units inside an enterprise, based on the real-world data. Through comparing the performance, DEA can evaluate the enterprise performance from scale effectiveness and technological effectiveness, and then get the performance optimization goals. Critical Factor Index (CFI) is a new enterprise performance assessment method proposed in recent years. This method, based on the performance perception of business leaders or staffs, evaluates the enterprise performance in different dimensions, and then gets the optimization strategy of enterprise resource allocation to improve integrated enterprise performance. This paper has structured a new evaluation and optimization system for performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which combine properly the DEA and CFI method to evaluate and optimize the SMEs' performance comprehensively, and has confirm this system with data of 5 Finnish SMEs.

The objective of this study is to analyze a Finnish manufacturing case company’s operational competitiveness. A proposed analytical model based on analyses the corresponding angles of the strategic triangles (Prospector, Analyzer, and Defender). The model compares the angle differences between the strategy and resource triangles with opinions from different management groups of informants. It was found out that Normalized Scaled Critical Factor Index (NSCFI) model is more scientific comparing to formal ones through validation. Calculations based on the MSI questionnaire resulted in medium high values for the Prospector strategy both for past- and future orientation. S&R calculations regarding the past orientation resulted in low values for all strategy types, except P-NSCFI for Analyzer. Moreover this study covers a case, in where Balanced Critical Factor Index (BCFI) was used defining company annual strategy plan.

How to ensure that the various levels of the organization are operating in accordance with a common strategy? According to the Hallberg committee’s Preparedness and comprehensive security report [1] the key challenges the public sector organization faces lies in finding new ways of operating horizontally across various levels of administration. This paper aims to develop the preparedness in the target organization by strategy’s resource-based identification for implementing sustainable competitive advantages to the public sector’s management system. The research methods used are a case study and surveys, which were connected by the analytical hierarchy process based form and two sense and respond (S&R) based forms. The longitudinal data for the surveys were collected in two phases and analyzed with the balanced critical factor index method [2] and transformational leadership indexes (TLI) with technology levels [3]. The BCFI & TLI method identifies and clarifies the unit’s development and risk factors. According to [4] during the process of sense and respond, it is important to develop an operational strategy adjustment system by utilizing critical factor evaluation. As [5] describes in her dissertation if there were clear goals defined for the quality of the (public) services the natural choice of the approach in the purpose of evaluation for accountability would be the goal-attainment evaluation. The innovative findings lay the groundwork for the decision makers to focus efforts and readjust the operations of the target organization in order to achieve operational sustainable competitive advantage (OSCA).
