- This paper presents the results of CO2 concentration in the soil air in attempt to determine the influence of exogenous and endogenous factors on the recorded measurement. The tests were conducted in the area of Szczawnica Spa(S Poland) using an equipment for continuous CO2 measurement, constructed at the Mineral and Energy Eeconomy Research Institute Polish Academy of Science. The device measured and logged the results from 4 points for a 12-month period. The measurements were aimed to answer the following questions: what factors and to what extent determine the spatial and temporal (short- and longterm) variability in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the soil air, and whether the individual measuring points of the Szczawnica measuring station registered any signs of carbon dioxide of endogenous origin. The obtained results allowed the interpretation of seasonal variability of CO2 (in a year-round profile), irregular variations in periods lasting several days, diurnal cycle variability, and others. The results clearly show the dependence of CO2 concentrationon both the season and the weather conditions (especially temperature and precipitation).
