    Opis:
    The aim of the paper was to assess differentiation of the occurrence of households’ income affluence in Poland between subregions. An analysis was conducted using two-level logit models without explanatory variables (null model) and with explanatory variables at household level (random intercept model and random slope model). The variables were related to the characteristics of the household and its head. The conducted analysis allowed to state that the occurrence of affluence is differentiated between subregions in the null model as well as in the model with explanatory variables.

    The aim of this study is evaluation of poverty range in southern macroregion and formulate conclusions for the form of the studied phenomenon in the coming years. The paper presents a deep analysis, involving on the one hand poverty itself, on the other hand taking into the consideration the situation opposite to poverty - welfare. The income inequality, which is de facto the basis of defining poverty, was also taken into the consideration. The values of selected indicators calculated for southern macroregion was also compared with the values of indicators calculated for Poland.

    The aim of the paper was to identify the determinants of the state of poverty using logistic regression. The analysis focused on economic poverty considered through the prism of income. Three states of poverty were considered: poverty, near poverty (household’s income from 100% to 125% of the adopted poverty threshold) and above near poverty (income higher than 125% of poverty threshold), using the ordinal logit model and – after the rejection of the proportional odds assumption – the multinomial logit model. The analysis was preceded by a presentation of the basic facts concerning three states of poverty. Based on the conducted analysis it can be stated that the education of the household's head, place of residence, labourforce status and socio-economic group were very important factors of the state of poverty, and they change the odds of being in above near poverty relative to poverty and the odds of being in near poverty relative to poverty.

    W artkule przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą dobrobytu ekonomicznego gospodarstw domowych wyróżnionych ze względu na wiek głowy gospodarstwa domowego. Analizę tę przeprowadzono wyznaczając uogólnione krzywe Lorenza oraz skrócone funkcje dobrobytu. Najmniejszym dobrobytem cechowały się gospodarstwa domowe 60+. Grupa ta nie jest jednak jednorodna ze względu na osiągany dobrobyt - zdecydowanie gorszym dobrobytem cechują się gospodarstwa domowe, których głową jest kobieta.
    In this article there was conducted comparative analysis of welfare of households divided into groups according to the age of household's head. The analysis was conducted using generalized Lorenz curves and abbreviated welfare functions. Households 60+ were characterized by the smallest welfare. This group is not homogenous due to achieved welfare - definitely worse welfare is in female-headed households than in male-headed households.

    The aim of the analysis was to determine the share of households temporarily and permanently poor in general. The aim was also to assess the mobility of households due to the membership of poverty. In the final part of the study there were identified demographic and economic factors influencing sustainability of poverty. In the analysis, as potential determinants of the risk of persistent poverty, were included: gender, age and education of the head of household, and place of residence and household status in the labor market.
