- Experiments were carried out on 150 sheep of different race, age and sex, designed for slaughter. Coproscopis examination helped to reveal in them infestation with Fasciola hepatica and gastro-intestinal nematodes. About 100/o of the sheep were also infested with pulmonary nematodes. 50 sheep were administered per os Zanil, 50 - Nilzan, and 50 made the control group. Post-mortem parasitological examinations helped to arrive at following conclusions: Zanil appeared to be a highly effective preparation against F. hepatica in sheep, giving 1000/o control of mature forms of the parasite. Similarly effective on F. hepatica was Nilzan, which also showed an action against gastro-intestinal nematodes (in 970/o) and pulmonary nematodes genus Dictyocaulus. Clinical examination showed no side-effects of the preparations applied.
