    Opis:
    The paper aims was assessing risks of mandible fractures consequent to impacts or sport accidents. The role of the structural stiffness of mandible, related to disocclusion state, was evaluated using the finite element method. It has been assumed, that the quasi-static stress field, due to distributed forces developed during accidents, could explain the common types of mandibular fractures. Mandibular condyles were supposed jammed in the maxillary fossae. The force of 700 N, simulating an impact on mandible, has been sequentially applied in three distinct areas: centrally, at canine zone and at the mandibular angle. Clinically most frequent fractures of mandible were recognized through the analysis of maximal principal stress/strain fields. It has been shown that mandibular fracture during accidents can be analyzed at satisfactory level using linear quasi-static models for designing protections.

    Авторы проанализировали зависимость между уровнем урожая основных культурных растений в сортовых опытах, проводимых в 1951-80 гг. (90 станций) и величиной и распределением декадных осадков в вегетационный период в те же годы (160 осадковых станций). На этой основе были определены для 7 выделенных физиографическ- климатических районов и 2 категорий плотности почв, средние для многолетий, сезонные и декадные осадки, позволяющие получить по крайней мере следующие урожаи: кормовой свёклы 75, сахарной свёклы 45, позднего картофеля 35, раннего картофеля 25, клевера и люцерны 50, гороха и бобов 2,5 и хлеба 4 т/га. Недостаток или избыток декадных осадков для отдельных растений, почв и станций был числен как разность между величиной районных осадковых нужд и действительными осадками в среднем для многолетий и в засушливые годы. Величины нужд орошения были определены с учётом районов, почв и числом засушливых лет. Авторы прилагают примеры карт для выбранных пропашных, кормовых и хлебных культур, на которых сравнивают величины и пространственные пределы недостатка осадков на лёгких и средних почвах.
    The relationship between the yield level of main crops in varietal tests carried out in the period 1951-1980 (in 90 crop variety testing stations) and the magnitude and distribution of ten-day rainfalls in the growing season of this period (160 ombrometric stations) was analyzed by the authors. On this basis many-year mean, seasonal and ten-day rainfalls allowing to obtain at least the following yields: 75 t of fodder beets, 45 t of sugar beets, 35 t of late potatoes, 25 t of early potatoes, 50 t of clover and alfalfa M 2.5 t of pea and beans and 4 t of cereal grain from hectare, have been determined, deficiency or excess of ten-day rainfalls for particular crops, soils and stations were calculated as difference between the regional rainfall needs and actual rainfalls for many-year periods and dry years. The irrigation requirements have been determined for particular regions, soils and dry years. Exemplary maps for selected root, fodder and cereal crops are attached by the authors for comparing the values and spatial ranges of rainfall deficiencies on light and medium-heavy soils.

    Opis:
    Allene oxide synthase (AOS) encodes the first enzyme in the lipoxygenase pathway, which is responsible for jasmonic acid (JA) formation. In this study we report the molecular cloning and characterization of InAOS from Ipomoea nil. The full-length gene is composed of 1662 bp and encodes for 519 amino acids. The predicted InAOS contains PLN02648 motif, which is evolutionarily conserved and characteristic for functional enzymatic proteins. We have shown that wounding led to a strong stimulation of the examined gene activity in cotyledons and an increase in JA level, which suggest that this compound may be a modulator of stress responses in I. nil.
