Opis:
Eco-design, a new stage in product development, has been gaining in importance for some years already. Against this backdrop, a series of studies was conducted aimed principally to assess environmental maturity of enterprises reflected in considering environmental aspects at early stages of product design when decisions are made, inter alia, as to materials that will be used, production technologies, and product durability. With regard to the above stated goal, the following actions have been recommended as necessary: at the theoretical level, identifying prerequisites against which we can assess the degree of environmental maturity using the reconstruction methodology and subject-matter literature review; at the project level, developing a research tool in the form of an evaluation sheet as a product of the exploration of writings and discussions held by a purposefully selected group of experts; and at the empirical level, identification of the eco-maturity degree of agricultural machinery manufacturers. In the context of the above stated goal, it seems justified to plan the studies based on literature review, expert knowledge, creative discussion, and direct interviews with selected representatives of the industry covered by the research. To managers, these studies having solid theoretical foundations should provide grounds for evaluation and inspire them to build their own eco-design strategies.

The subject of the research of this elaboration are strategic maturity desiderata of the corporate capability of manufacturing enterprises operating in the agricultural machinery sector. The vital goal of this study is to determine the level of partial (functional) maturities constituting the strategic capability of the investigated enterprises. Achieving the main objective required the formulation and implementation of partial goals, which were applied to outline: nomination of desiderata determining strategic maturity (literature query), compilation of the research model in the form of an assessment sheet (literature exploration and expert research) and recognition of the level of strategic maturity among manufacturers of the agricultural machinery sector (theoretical model validation). The considerations contained in the paper are embedded in social sciences, and more specifically; in the field of management and quality sciences.

Purpose: The fundamental objective of this article is to discern whether business model maturity is perceived through the prism of the ability to deal with unexpected challenges, overcome unprecedented threats, and use emerging business opportunities (agility) or – perhaps – more as a feature of the organization, which makes a business model less vulnerable to unpredictable external changes or sets it in a better position to make it respond effectively to these changes (flexibility). Methodology: The reconnaissance of opinions requires the creation of a catalog of desiderata that significantly identify agility and flexibility. Theoretical and design layers will use a method of reconstruction and interpretation of the subject literature supported by a discussion within a group of deliberately selected experts. This will be reflected in a set of parameters, on the one hand, characteristic of the categories of agility and flexibility and, on the other hand, reflecting business model maturity. Findings: The conducted research allows us to state that mature business models – as implemented by the surveyed companies – are perceived rather through the prism of the strategic ability of enterprises to quickly adapt to unforeseen and sudden changes on the market (agility category). Originality: The article includes not only academic postulates of agility or flexibility but also practical tips that enable constructing guidelines for decision-makers and managers of the agricultural machinery sector. The study carries a charge of a theoretical and empirical study. It takes into account knowledge and expert experience.

The subject of the study, which is a preparatory study, is the determinants of the selection of technological resources. The research was conducted from the perspective of small, medium and large enterprises producing agricultural machinery. The fundamental aim of the research is to answer the following questions: what factors - from the point of view of agricultural machinery manufacturers - are important and determine the choice of selected means of production, and which of the above may constitute the basis for assessment in the perspective of the maturity of their suppliers? Achievement of the main objective required formulation and implementation of partial objectives, which included: a) Determination of the importance of production means and their impact on the production process; b) Using the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the literature on the subject - nomination of factors taken into account in the selection of production means; c) Compilation of the list of desiderata constituting the foundation of the research tool in the form of an evaluation sheet being the resultant of literature exploration and discussion among deliberately selected experts related to the agricultural machinery sector. Specified applications have become a substrate defining the proper direction of further research (assessment of the significance of requirements), the results of which will be presented in the next part of the study.

Due to major fluctuations in the labour market, the issue of motivation is again becoming one of the fundamental subjects of modern management and quality sciences. It seems that the complexity of the problems – apart from limited scientific recognition so far – justify treatment of the mentioned matters as the subject matter of research. Thus, the main goal of this paper is to assess the level of maturity of manufacturing enterprises in the area of effective implementation of non-wage systems to motivate executive employees. With reference to the objective outlined in this way, it was recommended as a necessary action; on the theoretical level – to apply the method of reconstruction and interpretation of Polish and foreign literature related to this subject – to nominate questions assessing the level of maturity of non-wage incentive systems; on a project level – to compile a research tool in the form of an evaluation sheet constituting the resultant literature exploration and research among intentionally selected respondents (executive employees); on an empirical level – to conduct investigation among manufacturers of the agricultural machinery sector (expert assessment).

Since many researchers and managers think about the essence, creation mechanisms and limits of the manufacturing model maturity, at this point, the author raises the question related to this issue: what dimensions (descriptions and desiderata) should be considered when conceptualizing this idea? The formulated question became a starting point and a point of conducting a creative synthesis, based, on the one hand, on a detailed analysis of the problem theory, and on the other hand – on the author’s own research. The above question and belief related to the existence of economic demand for results of application nature were the main inspiration to undertake research whose main purpose is to recognize: how the maturity of the business model is understood by selected experts operating in the Polish agricultural machinery sector?
Jako że wielu badaczy i zarządzających zastanawia się nad istotą, mechanizmami kreowania i granicami dojrzałości modelu biznesu, w tym miejscu autor stawia – związane z tym zagadnieniem – pytanie: jakie wymiary (deskrypty i dezyderaty) należy uwzględnić dokonując konceptualizacji tego pojęcia? Sformułowane pytanie stało się punktem wyjścia i przeprowadzenia twórczej syntezy opartej z jednej strony na szczegółowej analizie teorii problemu, a z drugiej na badaniach własnych autora. Powyższe pytanie oraz przekonanie o występowaniu gospodarczego zapotrzebowania na wyniki o charakterze aplikacyjnym stanowiły główną inspirację do podjęcia badań, których zasadniczym celem jest rozpoznanie jak dojrzałość modelu biznesu rozumieją wybrani eksperci działający w polskim sektorze maszyn rolniczych?

Badanie przeprowadzono wśród wybranych producentów sektora maszyn rolniczych.
Vast majority of issues concerning the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises are inherently connected with adjustments to changing market needs which, in a longer perspective, justifies the development of selected business models. Against this context, studies were launched with a view to answer the question: What kind of business model has been absorbed by Polish enterprises from the agricultural machinery industry? Referring to the set objective outlined in this way, an indispensable action was recommended to evaluate the research model - being the resultant of the related literature exploration and discussion among deliberately selected experts (theoretical and design layer). This research was conducted among the Polish manufacturers of the agricultural machinery sector.

Background: In the light of the economic slowdown and significant strategic uncertainty resulting from the currently prevailing SARS-Cov-2 epidemic crisis, it is reasonable to undertake research to identify key competences that are relevant to the continuity of the supply chain functioning. The logistics processes in their current shape will undergo a significant change. Therefore, based on a widespread discussion that has been recently taking place in the environment of scientists, politicians, local government officials and management practitioners, the question once again arises about the level of preparation of enterprises for functioning in this specific environment. Aiming to fill the existing gap in knowledge, a series of studies was conducted, the main purpose of which was to recognize key competences from the point of view of existence in the conditions triggered by the COVID-19 crisis. Considering the empirical evidence confirming the existence of a strong relationship between company stability and an effective supply chain, the following research direction aggregates logistic microfoundations to the attribute of a „mature" enterprise. Methods: Referring to the outlined objective, using the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the literature on the subject, it was recommended to nominate questions assessing the level of maturity of logistics subsystems (theoretical layer) as a necessary action. At the conceptual (design) level, it was crucial to compile the research tool being the resultant of the related literature exploration (theoretical model) and discussion among deliberately selected experts („virtual" brainstorming). At the empirical level, this enabled the recognition of competences that determine the survival of enterprises in crisis conditions, and thus allowed the development of recommendations for managers of manufacturing enterprises. Results: The paper proposes a procedure and a tool to identify key capabilities that determine the survival of enterprises in COVID-19 crisis conditions. The brainstorming research model reflects the areas of digital technology that the manufacturers, in the context of the current pandemic, should absorb (coincidence). Moreover, it was established that the process of economic recovery will take place in cooperation with enterprises absorbing the logistic management model based on digital technologies. To sum up, it should be noted that the maturity of such an enterprise is manifested in the use of descriptions defined in the research, not only in terms of production, but also in the entire supply chain. All these activities need to be harmonized, creating a crisis-proof enterprise. The organization of such an enterprise is characterized by delegating as many tasks as possible to competent employees who, using the knowledge and available digital technologies, add value throughout the entire chain. Conclusions: The results of the research confirmed the author's belief that on the one hand digital technologies imply the possibility of surviving in the face of the crisis caused by COVID-19 (continuity of the supply chain, remote work without participation, or with limited human participation, etc.), on the other, implemented by enterprises, can be a kind of „protective shield" against the negative effects of a pandemic; from the perspective of the issue taken in the research work, they determine the maturity of the company's logistics subsystems. It seems that relatively small scientific recognition and complexity of problems occurring in business practice justify treating the COVID-19 issue as the subject of research, which is reflected in this publication.
Wstęp: W obliczu spowolnienia gospodarczego i znaczącej niepewności strategicznej będącej wynikiem panującego obecnie kryzysu epidemicznego SARS-Cov-2, zasadne jest podjęcie badań rozpoznających kompetencje kluczowe, istotne z punktu widzenia ciągłości funkcjonowania łańcucha dostaw. Procesy logistyczne w dotychczasowym kształcie ulegną bowiem istotnej zmianie. Dlatego też, na fali szerokiej dyskusji jaka się ostatnio toczy w środowisku naukowców, polityków, samorządowców czy praktyków zarządzania, po raz kolejny pojawia się pytanie o poziom przygotowania przedsiębiorstw do funkcjonowania w tym specyficznym otoczeniu. Dążąc do uzupełnienia istniejącej luki w wiedzy przeprowadzono cykl badań, których zasadniczym celem ustanowiono rozpoznanie kompetencji kluczowych z punktu widzenia egzystowania w warunkach kryzysu wywołanego COVID-19. Zważywszy na empiryczne dowody potwierdzające istnienie silnego związku pomiędzy stabilnością firmy a skutecznym łańcuchem dostaw, poniższy kierunek badań agreguje mikrofundamenty logistyczne do miana atrybutu „dojrzałego” przedsiębiorstwa. Metody: W nawiązaniu do nakreślonego celu, wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przedmiotu, jako działanie niezbędne zarekomendowano nominowanie pytań opiniujących poziom dojrzałości podsystemów logistycznych (warstwa teoretyczna). Na płaszczyźnie koncepcyjnej (projektowej) kluczowe było skompilowanie narzędzia badawczego będącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa (model teoretyczny) oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów („wirtualna” burza mózgów). Na płaszczyźnie empirycznej umożliwiło to rozpoznanie kompetencji przesądzających o przetrwaniu przedsiębiorstw w warunkach kryzysu i tym samym pozwoliło na opracowanie rekomendacji dla zarządzających przedsiębiorstwami wytwórczymi. Wyniki: W pracy zaproponowano procedurę i narzędzie umożliwiające identyfikację kluczowych zdolności przesądzających o przetrwaniu przedsiębiorstw w warunkach kryzysu COVID-19. Model badawczy powstały w wyniku burzy mózgów odzwierciedla obszary technologii cyfrowej, które w kontekście obecnej pandemii powinni absorbować wytwórcy (koincyndencja). Ponadto ustalono, iż proces odbudowy gospodarki będzie odbywał się przy współudziale przedsiębiorstw absorbujących model zarządzania logistycznego oparty na technologiach cyfrowych. Reasumując trzeba nadmienić, że dojrzałość takiego przedsiębiorstwa przejawia się zastosowaniem- zdefiniowanych w badaniach deskryptów- nie tylko w zakresie wytwarzania, ale także w zakresie całego łańcucha dostaw. Wszystkie te działania wymagają zharmonizowania, tworząc przedsiębiorstwo „odporne” na kryzys. Organizacja takiego przedsiębiorstwa charakteryzuje się przekazaniem możliwie największej liczby zadań kompetentnym pracownikom, którzy przy wykorzystaniu wiedzy i dostępnych technologii cyfrowych dodają wartość w całym łańcuchu. Wnioski: Wyniki badań utwierdziły autora w przekonaniu, że technologie cyfrowe z jednej strony implikujące możliwość przetrwana w obliczu kryzysu wywołanego COVID-19 (ciągłość łańcucha dostaw, praca zdalna bez udziału, lub przy ograniczonym udziale człowieka, itp.), z drugiej zaś implementowane przez przedsiębiorstwa, mogą stanowić swego rodzaju „tarczę ochronną” przed negatywnymi skutkami pandemii; z perspektywy podjętego w pracy zagadnienia stanowią o dojrzałości podsystemów logistycznych przedsiębiorstwa. Wydaje się, że stosunkowo małe naukowe rozpoznanie i złożoność problemów występujących w praktyce biznesowej uzasadniają traktowanie kwestii COVID-19 jako przedmiotu badań, czego wyraz stanowi niniejsza publikacja.

The considerations conducted in this work are aimed at identifying the design environmental maturity of enterprises producing parts and components of technical means of agricultural transport. So far, both in Poland and abroad, no comprehensive research (based on a detailed analysis of the problem) has been undertaken on design maturity, defined through the prism of environmental dimensions, in relation to Polish producers of the agricultural machinery sector. In order to fill the existing gap in knowledge, a series of studies was undertaken to identify whether the surveyed enterprises are design-oriented, taking into account, in addition to traditional postulates (economics, society), also environmental postulates reflecting their eco-maturity. Given the empirical evidence confirming the existence of a strong relationship between a company’s market success and sustainable management throughout the product life cycle, the following line of research aggregates them into desirable ones.

W nawiązaniu do tak nakreślonego celu jako działanie niezbędne zarekomendowano: na płaszczyźnie teoretycznej nominowanie pytań opiniujących poziom dojrzałości w sferze skutecznej implementacji lean management; na płaszczyźnie projektowej skompilowanie narzędzia badawczego w postaci arkusza oceny stanowiącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów; na płaszczyźnie empirycznej indagację wśród producentów sektora maszyn rolniczych (weryfikacja metody w praktyce). Interdyscyplinarność nauk o zarządzaniu stwarza problemy w doborze metod badawczych, za pomocą których zamierza się opisywać dany problem. W badaniach empirycznych często wykorzystuje się (bezpośrednio lub z pewnymi modyfikacjami) zweryfikowane w innych badaniach metody i narzędzia badawcze. Podobnie postępują autorzy pracy, jednak metoda i narzędzia są dobrane według przyjętej koncepcji metodycznej.
The main purpose of this publication is to assess the maturity level of manufacturing enterprises in the area of effective lean management implementation. In reference to such an outlined purpose, as a necessary activity, it was recommended: at the theoretical level – using the reconstruction and interpretation method of Polish and foreign subject literature – to nominate the questions giving opinions on the maturity level in the sphere of the effective lean management implementation; at the design level – to complicate a research tool in the form of an assessment sheet that constitutes a result of the literature exploration and discussion among deliberately chosen experts; and at the empirical level – questioning among manufacturers of the agricultural machinery sector (method verification in practice). The interdisciplinary nature of management sciences creates problems in selecting the research methods with which one intends to describe a given problem. Research methods and tools verified in other research are often used in empirical research (directly or with certain modifications). A similar approach is followed by the authors of the paper, but the method and the tools are selected according to the adopted methodological concept.

Dojrzałość producentów maszyn rolniczych w Polsce to jeden z obszarów badawczych podjętych w niniejszym opracowaniu. Podstawowym celem opracowania jest wysondowanie jakie czynniki decydują o wyborze maszyn rolniczych, a w dalszej kolejności mogą one stanowić fundament oceny z perspektywy dojrzałości ich wytwórców. Osiągnięcie celu głównego wymagało sformułowania i zrealizowania celów cząstkowych, do których zaliczono: a) określenie znaczenia dojrzałości z perspektywy elastyczności producenta (dostawcy), b) wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przed-miotu nominowanie czynników warunkujących wybór maszyn rolniczych, c) skompilowanie listy dezyderatów stanowiących fundament narzędzia badawczego w modelu oceny będącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów dziedzinowych (sektor maszyn rolniczych). Skonkretyzowane eksplikacje stały się substratem definiującym właściwy kierunek dalszych prac badawczych (ocena istotności wymagań).
The maturity of agricultural machinery manufacturers in Poland is one of the research areas undertaken in this study. The fundamental goal of the work is to probe what factors decide on the one hand the choice of agricultural machinery, and on the other hand can constitute the foundation of the assessment from the perspective of the maturity of their manufacturers. Achieving the main goal required the formulation and implementation of sub-objectives, which included: a) determining the importance of maturity from the perspective of flexibility of the producer (supplier), b) using the method of re-construction and interpretation of the literature on the subject - nomination of factors conditioning the choice of agricul-tural machinery, c) compilation of the list of desiderates constituting the foundation of the research tool in the assessment model being the resultant literature exploration and discussion among deliberately selected field experts (agricultural machinery sector). Specific clarifications have become the substrate that defines the right direction for further research (assessment of significance of requirements).

Dojrzałość sektora producentów maszyn rolniczych w Polsce to jeden z obszarów badawczych podjętych w niniejszym opracowaniu i jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaka jest atrakcyjność (będąca przejawem dojrzałości) polskiego sektora maszyn rolniczych; jakie stwarza szanse i zagrożenia dla funkcjonowania i rozwoju przedsiębiorstw wytwórczych? Jedną z metod analitycznych, która została wykorzystana do oceny dojrzałości sektora (w tym także do oceny sił konkurencyjnych w sektorze) była analiza 5 sił Portera. Ta pięcioczynnikowa analiza pozwoliła na zbadanie sił określających poziom atrakcyjności sektora dla aktualnych i przyszłych podmiotów zainteresowanych realizacją działalności w tym sektorze.
The maturity of the agricultural machinery manufacturers sector in Poland is one of the research areas undertaken in this paper. The essential aim of this article is to answer the question: what is the attractiveness, being a manifestation of ma-turity, of the Polish agricultural machinery sector; What are the opportunities and threats for the functioning and devel-opment of manufacturing enterprises? One of the analytical methods that has been applied to assess the sector's maturity (also to evaluate the competitive forces of the sector) has been the Porter Five Forces analysis. This five-factor analysis has allowed to examine the forces determining the level of attractiveness of the industry for current and future entities in-terested in carrying out activities in this sector.

Przedmiotem badań zasadniczych opisanych w artykule są determinanty wyboru maszyn rolniczych, stanowiące fundament oceny z perspektywy dojrzałości ich wytwórców. Badania prowadzono z punktu widzenia małych, średnich i dużych przedsiębiorstw. Głównym celem badań była próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie czynniki - z punktu widzenia nabywcy - są kluczowe i determinują jego decyzję o wyborze określonej maszyny rolniczej. Osiągnięcie celu głównego wymagało zidentyfikowania czynników warunkujących decyzje (model determinant), które poddano eksploracji; walidacja modelu teoretycznego (ocena istotności wymagań). Takie działanie pozwoliło na wnioskowanie sprofilowane na wskazanie rekomendacji dotyczącej sposobu i kierunku doskonalenia w zakresie oferowanych maszyn i związanych z tym procesów projektowania i produkcji.
The subject of the research of this study - constituting the basic research - are the determinants of the selection of agricultural machinery, which are the foundation of the assessment from the perspective of the maturity of their manufacturers. The research was conducted from the perspective of small, medium and large enterprises. The fundamental goal of the re-search is to try to answer the question: what factors - from the buyer's point of view - are key and determine his decision to choose a specific agricultural machine. Achieving the main goal required the identification of factors conditioning decisions (determinant model), which was explored in the presented part of the study; validation of the theoretical model (assessment of significance of requirements). Such an action allowed inference profiled to indicate a recommendation regarding the method and direction of improvement in the field of offered machines and related design and production processes.

In the paper, an attempt was made to answer the following question: what is the maturity level of the Polish companies operating in the agricultural machinery sector within the area of the implementation of quality management principles, methods and tools? In reference to such an outlined purpose, as necessary activities, it was recommended: at the theoretical level – using the reconstruction and interpretation method of the subject literature – to nominate the questions giving opinions on the maturity level in the sphere of the effective implementation of quality management principles, methods and tools; at the design level – to compile a research tool in the form of an assessment sheet that constitutes a result of the literature exploration and discussion among deliberately chosen experts; and at the empirical level – questioning among manufacturers of parts, components and finished agricultural machinery.
W pracy podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaki jest poziom dojrzałości polskich przedsiębiorstw działających w sektorze maszyn rolniczych w obszarze implementacji zasad, metod i narzędzi zarządzania jakością? W nawiązaniu do tak nakreślonego celu jako działania niezbędne zarekomendowano: na płaszczyźnie teoretycznej – wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przedmiotu – wytypowanie pytań opiniujących poziom dojrzałości w sferze skutecznej implementacji zasad, metod i narzędzi zarządzania jakością; na płaszczyźnie projektowej – skompilowanie narzędzia badawczego w postaci arkusza oceny będącego wypadkową eksploracji piśmiennictwa oraz dyskusji wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów; na płaszczyźnie empirycznej – indagacja wśród producentów części, podzespołów i gotowych maszyn rolniczych.

Strategiczne zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi jest postrzegane jako jednorodna i spójna metoda kierowania najcenniejszym z kapitałów każdej organizacji, czyli ludźmi. Właściwe wykorzystanie w przedsiębiorstwie zasobów ludzkich sprowadza się do stworzenia takich warunków i możliwości, aby potencjał tkwiący w pracownikach mógł być wyzwolony i właściwie wykorzystany. W kontekście powyższego podjęto badania, których zasadniczym celem ustanowiono rozpoznanie poziomu dojrzałości przedsiębiorstw w strategicznym zarządzaniu zasobami ludzkimi jako kluczowym kryterium implikującym „jakość” firmy. Innymi słowy chodzi o ocenę, czy wykorzystanie zasobów ludzkich w danym przedsiębiorstwie sprowadza się do stworzenia takich warunków i możliwości, żeby potencjał tkwiący w pracownikach mógł być wyzwolony i właściwie wykorzystany w codziennym doskonaleniu organizacji poprzez małe, ale systematyczne zmiany. W nawiązaniu do tak nakreślonego celu jako działania niezbędne zarekomendowano wytypowanie pytań opiniujących poziom dojrzałości przedsiębiorstw w strategicznym zarządzaniu zasobami ludzkimi, na tej podstawie skompilowanie narzędzia badawczego, które w dalszej części pracy wykorzystano do oceny; indagację producentów części, podzespołów i gotowych maszyn rolniczych.  
Human resource strategic management is viewed as a uniform and coherent method used to manage the most valuable asset of any organization, i.e., people. Adequate deployment of human resources in enterprises boils down to the creating of an environment conducive to the unleashing of their full potential and using it properly. Against this background, we launched studies to identify the maturity of enterprises in strategic management of human resources as the key criterion that produces “quality” for a company. In other words, the goal was to find out if an enterprise can create conditions to unleash the potential of its human resources and to use it properly through subsequent everyday improvements, which are small but systematic. With regard to this goal, we recommended necessary steps to identify questions about the degree of maturity of enterprises in human resource strategic management to develop a research tool, which at a later stage was used to conduct self-assessment through interviews with manufacturers of spare parts, components, and agricultural machinery.
