Opis:: This paper provides a review of some of the ways that the Social Economy is currently conceptualized. The variation in approaches: Reformist, Inclusive/Broad-based, Transformative/ Civil Society is what differentiates and creates fissures among research-ers and practitioners/actors in coming to understandings of the Social Economy. The di-versity in these approaches significantly enriches the Social Economy sector in Poland and offers opportunities to influence public policy development across a wide range of areas of service delivery. As we move forward in developing policy recommendations and in our practice we must continue to reflect on and revise our conceptualizations of what constitutes the Social Economy.

Opis:: This paper presents relatelations between social economy and governments and private sector. Traditionally, have been characterized as conflictual or competitive, actually it seems to more complicated. The social economy couldn't by itself constitute the only form of economic organization for an entire economic system, but it could be one of the central elements in a capitalist, democratic egalitarian economic structure. Models prepared by Gidron, Salamon, Kramer and by Phillips and Grahadm suggest that relationships between social economy and governments based on collabitation and partnership.

Opis:: This paper attempts to provide a perspective on defining the social economy on social science. It addresses the question of the relevance of a unifying concept with its need to embrace the existing diversity of approaches and concepts. To this end, it surveys both historical and contemporary academic literature, as well as practice-rooted conceptualisations of the social economy. The social economy is presented as a hybrids solution between market and state activity. But this traditional social science "classificatory" approach does not lead to an operational definition of the social economy.
