Opis:: The paper describes results of research on heavy vehicle tyre with Run Flat VFI insert. The experiment has included the determination of heat generation, rolling resistance, and radial stiffness of two different tyre designs (textile and steel carcass). The results have been used for the purpose of evaluation of tyre operating characteristics. The study included research on non-inflated tyre properties. The purpose of the paper is to determine characteristics of the tyres equipped with inserts, which are essential for driving wheeled APCs. The inserts are composed of polymer rings mounted on the rims inside the tyres. If the inflation pressure of the tyre is very low or if there is no inflation pressure at all, the ring transfers the loads imposed on the tyre to the rim. Usually in such a case, there is a contact of the ring and inner surface of the tyre tread area. Laboratory facility for surveys of heavy vehicles tyres, summary characteristics of radial stiffness and hysteresis of test tyres, temperature distribution on the external surface of the test tyre, comparison of radial characteristics of the tyres tested, example of stiffness characteristics, distribution of temperature on the side of tyre during the road test and carcass damages on the flat tyre are presented in the paper.

Opis:: This article presents the results of experimental investigations of an explosive decompression of an Armoured Personnel Carrier's tire. Despite a large number of empirical studies related to tire blow-outs aimed at improving the safety of personnel doing repairs and maintenance of trucks, the experimental data concerning tire explosions during driving are very limited. The main reasons are: the lack of objective test criteria and practical problems with the execution of tests. It should be mentioned that, in the case of civilian vehicles, vehicle stability tests are performed during an explosion of the steering axle's tire. Such tests are mandatory for long-distance coaches that are certified to drive with the speed of 100 kph. Unfortunately, during the obligatory stability tests of civilian vehicles the data are not recorded and no database with results is created. As a result, such tests do not lead to a better understanding of the phenomena occurring during a tire explosion. The problem of vehicle performance during and after a tire explosion is critical for military vehicles, especially vehicles operating in high IED risk areas, like Afghanistan.
Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia zjawisko eksplozyjnego rozerwania opon transporterów opancerzonych, przebieg i wyniki eksperymentu. Na świecie w wielu ośrodkach prowadzone były badania ukierunkowane na poprawienie ochrony ludzi, którzy zajmują się naprawą i konserwacją opon samochodów ciężarowych i zabezpieczeniem ich przed skutkami rozerwania opony. Niestety informacje o reakcji kierowców są raczej ograniczone, ponieważ nie istnieją żadne obiektywne kryteria oceny. Wiedza na temat zagrożeń i zachowania się pojazdów różnego typu podczas eksplozyjnych uszkodzeń ogumienia jest również niewystarczająca. Należy zwrócić uwagę, że w przypadku pojazdów cywilnych prowadzone są próby stateczności pojazdu podczas eksplozji opony osi kierowanej. Tego typu badanie wykonuje się obligatoryjnie dla autobusów dalekobieżnych, dopuszczanych do ruchu z prędkością 100 km/h. Podczas takich prób nie dokonuje się jednak pomiarów i rejestracji wyników, co pozwoliłoby na stworzenie choćby częściowej bazy danych, przydatnych np. w procedurach sądowych. W przypadku pojazdów, których miejscem operowania są rejony ze wzmożonym ryzykiem występowania ładunków IED (np. Afganistan), przedstawiany problem jest aktualny.

Opis:: Operation of stopping the driver that don.t subordinate to the police order is very difficult and danger. Hazard can concern both the officer, halted person and third party persons. In the scope of tests there have been done series of controlled runs over the road spike strip with different speeds, beginning from typical town traffic sped, up to the speeds characteristic for driving on motorway. It has been tested not only the car behaviour during the moment of tire puncture, but also stability and driveability when driving with already failed tire. It has been done comparison of standard tyres and Run On Flat tyres, that enables driving without pressure. For both tyre types have been done tests of breaking effort and realized tour drives up to complete destroying the tyre shoulder. This test aimed to test usefulness the Run On Flat tyres for police vehicles. The job has been realized within a framework of research - developing project nr 0R00000911, "Elaborating the technical requirements and range of necessary equipment for police vehicles, on the base of tests of standard demonstrations" carried out by Military Institute of Armoured and Automotive Technology in cooperation with Firm MZ, Kutno.
Operacja zatrzymania kierowcy niepodporządkowującego się poleceniom Policji, jest bardzo trudna i niebezpieczna. Zagrożenie może dotyczyć zarówno samego funkcjonariusza, osoby zatrzymywanej jak i osób postronnych. W ramach badań wykonano serie kontrolowanych przejazdów po kolczatce policyjnej z różnymi prędkościami, zaczynając od typowych prędkości w ruchu miejskim, aż do osiągnięcia prędkości charakterystycznych dla jazdy po autostradzie. Sprawdzono nie tylko zachowanie się pojazdu podczas momentu przebicia opony, ale również kierowalność i stateczność pojazdu podczas jazdy z już uszkodzoną oponą. Wykonano także porównanie standardowych opon i opon typu Run On Flat, umożliwiających jazdę bez ciśnienia powietrza. Dla obu typów opon przeprowadzono sprawdzenie skuteczności hamowania i wykonano jazdy przebiegowe, aż do chwili całkowitego zniszczenia barku opony. Badania te miały na celu sprawdzenie przydatności opon typu Run On Flat, w pojazdach policyjnych. Prace były realizowane w ramach projektu badawczo-rozwojowego nr 0R00000911, "Opracowanie wymagań technicznych i zakresu niezbędnego wyposażenia dla pojazdów policyjnych, na podstawie badań wzorcowych demonstratorów", prowadzonego przez WITPiS wraz z firma AMZ Kutno.
