What is the concept of the ‘commentary’ text type in media such as newspapers, radio or television? How often do commentaries appear? How are they marked as commentaries? And how can they be distinguished from other, neighbouring text types such as editorials, squibs, columns or guest comments? This paper tries to find an answer, drawing on definitions and descriptions found in publications from the domain of communication and media sciences as well as text linguistics. It also deals with some expansions of the textual model of the commentary, and the usage of this type of texts in the media serving various discourse communities. Finally, the Author presents a project involving contrastive analysis of commentaries in different media from several European countries, focusing attention on formulating a tertium comparationis that would be suitable for the comparison of media text types.
Was ist eigentlich unter der Textsorte ‚Kommentar‘ in Zeitungen, im Hörfunk und Fernsehen zu verstehen, wie häufig kommen sie vor, wie sind sie als solche gekennzeichnet, und wie lassen sich Kommentare von anderen, benachbarten Textsorten wie Leitartikeln, Glossen, Kolumnen und Gastbeiträgen abgrenzen? Eine Antwort auf diese Fragen wird unter Einbeziehung entsprechender Definitionen und Beschreibungen in publizistischen und textlinguistischen Arbeiten gesucht. Dabei wird auch auf aktuelle Erweiterungen des Kommentarmusters und auf den Gebrauch der Textsorte in verschiedenen Ländern eingegangen. Im Zusammenhang mit dem abschließend erläuterten Vorhaben einer kontrastiven Analyse des Kommentars in diversen Medien verschiedener europäischer Länder rückt die Frage nach dem tertium comparationis des medialen Textsortenvergleichs in den Mittelpunkt der Darstellung. - Źródło:
