Opis:
This work presents the method of improving the accuracy of temperature measurement results obtained by means of long-wave infrared camera equipped with focal plane array (FPA) detector. The typical accuracy of infrared cameras specified by their manufacturers amounts to ±2 K or ±2% of the measured value of temperature. Very often a better accuracy of the measurements is required, e.g. during the measurements of human body temperature. To improve the measurement accuracy an external local (in terms of temperature range) correction of obtained results on the basis of comparison measurement results of black body temperature and next with use of MATLAB package has been proposed.

Opis:
During the temperature measurements by means of infrared camera the temperature of surrounding elements must be known. In the case of thermovision inspections of the objects exposed to open air space, the surroundings consists of two elements, it is the ground and hypothetical sky surface. The sky temperature measured by long-wave IR camera is of apparent character because it expresses the thermal radiation of the sky within the spectral operational range of this camera i.e. 7.5÷13 μm. The abovementioned spectral range is coincident with so called atmospheric window within which the thermal radiation of the sky is relatively low. The emissivity of atmosphere within this window is low in the central part and high near the limits of the aforementioned range. In relation with the detector characteristic of the IR camera it causes underestimation of the measured sky temperature. This work deals with the analysis of influence of the IR camera detector characteristic on the results of determination of sky temperature and its thermal radiation intensity.

Przedstawiono wybrane wyniki badań hamulca tarczowego na stanowisku laboratoryjnym. W trakcie doświadczeń mierzone były główne parametry procesu hamowania oraz rozkłady temperatury w klocku i na powierzchni tarczy hamulcowej za pomocą kamery termowizyjnej. Zebrane dane pomiarowe stanowią materiał do weryfikacji modeli matematycznych przy numerycznej symulacji działania tego typu hamulców. Głównym tematem tej pracy jest analiza zmian współczynnika emisyjności powierzchni tarczy w warunkach prowadzenia eksperymentów. Znajomość stwierdzonych prawidłowości jest przydatna przy planowaniu i prowadzeniu tego typu badań.
Selected results of testing a disc brake on the laboratory stand, Fig. 1, are presented. There were measured the parameters of braking mechanics as well as the temperature distribution in a brake block and on the disc surface. The temperature distribution was determined with use of an infrared camera. The obtained measurement data were used for verification of the mathematical models for numerical simulations of brakes operation. The problems in determination of the disc surface emissivity coefficient and the character of its changeability during experiments at different braking parameters, Figs. 58, were the objectives of the project. The measurements of the emissivity coefficient on the entire disc surface were taken repeatedly, Figs. 2, 3. A correlation between the disc emissivity coefficient and the mechanical parameters of braking was found. Despite the fact that these correlations are qualitative rather than quantitative, they are interesting from the point of view of identification of the braking process as well as of planning such experiments. During the measurements, some interesting practical experience in the field of infrared measurements of temperature of the surface of not high emissivity coefficient was gained. In the project an isothermal protective screen was applied to normalize the radiation impact of the environment on the measurements, Figs 1, 4.

Opis:
Convective and radiation heat transfer take place between various objects placed in open air space and their surroundings. These phenomena bring about heat losses from pipelines, building walls, roofs and other objects. One of the main tasks in energy auditing is the reduction of excessive heat losses. In the case of a low sky temperature, the radiation heat exchange is very intensive and the temperature of the top part of the horizontal pipelines or walls is lower than the temperature of their bottom parts. Quite often this temperature is also lower than the temperature of the surrounding atmospheric air. In the case of overhead heat pipelines placed in open air space, it is the ground and sky that constitute the surroundings. The aforementioned elements of surroundings usually have different values of temperature. Thus, these circumstances bring about difficulties during infrared inspections because only one ambient temperature which represents radiation of all surrounding elements must be known during the thermovision measurements. This work is aimed at the development of a method for determination of an equivalent ambient temperature representing the thermal radiation of the surrounding elements of the object under consideration placed in open air space, which could be applied at a fairly uniform temperature of the sky during the thermovision measurements as well as for the calculation of radiative heat losses.
