Jana Pawła II na temat kultury, szczególne miejsce zajmuje przemówienie wygłoszone w siedzibie UNESCO w Paryżu, 2 czerwca 1980 roku. Odnosząc się do przemian kulturowych, które miały miejsce w trzech ostatnich stuleciach, papież na nowo opowiedział się po stronie kultury, podkreślając, że w wymiarze z indywidualnym stanowi ona konstytutywny element życia każdego człowieka, a w wymiarze społecznym daje ona oparcie samostanowieniu i wolności narodów. Formułując takie przesłanie, papież odwołał się do polskich doświadczeń, aby na tym tle jeszcze raz podkreślić znaczenie i prymat osoby oraz wskazać na podmiotowe znaczenie narodu oraz etyczny wymiar kultury. W przesłaniu papieskim znajdujemy także wezwanie do stawienia oporu kulturowego współczesnemu subiektywizmowi i tendencjom zmierzającym do wydziedziczenia człowieka, a tym samym zamknięcia przed nim uniwersalnego horyzontu nadziei i miłości, który opiera się na wielu ludzkich doświadczeniach z przeszłości.
    A great lesson of spirituality and humanism. Pope John Paul II at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris (June 2, 1980). The speech given by St. Pope John Paul II at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on June 2, 1980 has a special place among his numerous addresses concerning culture. Referring to the cultural changes which took place in the last three centuries the pope stood up for the culture, emphasising that in an individual dimension culture represents the constitutive element of life of every man and, correspondingly, in a social dimension it provides a support for self-determination and for the freedom of nations. Formulating such a message, the pope referred to Polish experiences, in order to highlight even stronger the significance and the primacy of a person and to point out the subjective meaning of a nation and the ethical dimension of culture. In the papal message one can also find a call for cultural opposition against contemporary subjectivism and other tendencies heading towards the disinheritance of man and, by the same token, to the shutting of the door of universal horizon of hope and love, which is based on manifold human experiences from the past.

    Although the relation between the mystery of the Holy Trinity and the sacrament of marriage was always treated as a minor issue, it has been present in the theology for ages. It is usually situated in the context of the searching for the “traces” of the Holy Trinity in the creation. The crucial moment in the theological approach to the relation between the mystery of the Holy Trinity and marriage was the reversal of the problem in question: marriage is not only a trace of the Holy Trinity in the world – as it is in classical theology – but rather it is expected to become an active reflection of the Trinity in the relations between husband and wife, in their mutual attitudes and it is supposed to express itself in the mission undertaken and fulfilled by husband and wife especially in their uniting and simultaneously fertile love. The Holy Trinity, especially as a mystery of the everlasting and rejoicing love, for a married couple should serve as a point of reference to understand their marital identity and to shape their mutual relations which express this identity. Trinitarian and Christological theology provide a rich material for a deepened understanding and recognition of the teaching of the former Popes who consistently emphasize the need of situating the fundamental questions regarding vocation, nature and mission of marriage in direct reference to the mystery of the Holy Trinity and the mystery of Jesus Christ. Theological perspectives unambiguously abiding by the conclusions of the theology of creation and natural law open an exceptionally broad view on marriage being the fundamental human and Christian reality, and at the same time a great mystery which has its origin in the highest mystery of the God in three Persons and which is fully revealed in Jesus Christ, the incarnated Son of God who died on the cross in kenotic love. Therefore it is primarily a perspective of personalism deeply rooted and directed Christologically. The mutual self-giving of husband and wife in the sacrament of marriage is a remarkable testimony given to Christ, since fidelity expressed in marital attitude reflects radicalism and greatness of love proved once and for all on the Christ’s cross. The fertility of physical union of man and wife reflects not only the immeasurable fertility of Christ’s death for mankind, but also the infinite fertility of Trinitarian communion which pours out on every created reality and becomes its original point of reference.

    Tradycja chrześcijańska, czerpiąc inspirację z Biblii, podkreśla, że milczenie stanowi jeden z kluczowych elementów duchowości oraz procesu poznawczego w teologii. Zarówno więc tradycja, jak i dzisiejsze zmaganie się z „dyktaturą hałasu”, domagają się, aby na nowo uzasadnić potrzebę milczenia. W artykule zwracamy uwagę przede wszystkim na potrzebę powrotu do milczenia w teologii, ponieważ pozwala ona uchwycić wymiar tajemnicy zawarty w objawieniu Bożym oraz otworzyć się na mówienie Boga i na jego właściwe rozumienie, aby mogło dojrzeć do miłości, kontemplacji i adoracji. Chodzi więc o najbardziej właściwe postawy człowieka w stosunku do Boga.
    Christian tradition, drawing its inspiration from the Bible, emphasises that silence constitutes one of the key elements of spirituality and the cognitive process in theology. Therefore, not only tradition but also today’s struggle with the „dictatorship of noise” call for a renewed justification of the need for silence. In this article we highlight the need for the return to silence in theology, since it provides the opportunity to grasp the dimension of the mystery included in God’s revelation and it helps us to open our ears to God’s voice and to get the correct understanding of it so that it would grow to love, contemplation and adoration. Thus, it is all concentrated around the most appropriate attitudes of man towards God.

    Artykuł podejmuje niektóre zagadnienia dotyczące relacji zachodzącej między jurydyzmem i charyzmatami w rozumieniu, a tym samym także w urzeczywistnianiu się Kościoła. Zostaje szczególnie pokreślona potrzeba zintegrowanego pojmowania tych dwóch rzeczywistości. Jej warunkiem jest zarówno odpowiednia eklezjologia, widząca władzę w Kościele w służbie miłości, jak również odpowiednia antropologia, która pokazuje zasady urzeczywistniania współpracy człowieka z łaską. Przede wszystkim chodzi jednak o to, by z pozycji teologicznej oraz historycznej widzieć prawo i charyzmat jako rzeczywistości, które w punkcie wyjścia stanowią dynamiczną jedność.
    The article addresses some issues regarding the relationship between juridism and charisms in the understanding and, therefore, in the realization of the Church. It particularly emphasizes the need for an integrated understanding of these two realities. Its condition is both an appropriate ecclesiology, which sees the authority in the Church in the service of love, as well as an appropriate anthropology, which shows the principles of implementing cooperation between man and grace. Above all, however, it is about seeing Church law and charisma from a theological and historical point of view as realities that, at their starting point, constitutea dynamic unity.

    From the theological point of view today there is a need of focusing on the question of the mutual relation between the theology of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the theology of the Divine Mercy. The Issue has to be considered mainly because of the growing veneration of the Divine Mercy, which in many aspects evidently adopts certain elements which traditionally belong to the worship of the Sacred Heart. The connection between these two cults can only be perceived after a profound theological analysis. Therefore, in this item I propose a theological perspective on the teachings of Saint Pope John Paul II, included in encyclicals Redemptor hominis (4th March 1979) and Dives in misericordia (30th November 1980), since these two significant and current documents contain valid and inspiring statements allowing the reader to grasp the relation between the theology of the Sacred Heart and the theology of the Divine Mercy. This authoritative and theologically profound background will indicate explicitly the close connection between the two cults and the respective theologies and how they complement each other. The proposed view deeply rooted in the teachings of Saint John Paul II may constitute a guideline for coherent combination of these two kinds of worship within Christian devotion. The growing cult of the Devine Mercy should be allowed to merge with other types of worship. The intention is to place the cult of the Divine Mercy within the tradition of the Church devotion, and at the same time to discover its hidden spiritual possibilities of the actualisation of the Church cult and adaptation of it to the new spiritual condition of the present times.
    Z teologicznego punktu widzenia zasługuje dzisiaj na uwagę zagadnienie wzajemnych relacji zachodzących miedzy teologią Najświętszego Serca Jezusa i teologią miłosierdzia Bożego. Uwzględnienia tego zagadnienia domaga się rozwijający się kult miłosierdzia Bożego, który w niejednym przypadku wyraźnie przejmuje elementy tradycyjnie należące do kultu Serca Jezusa. Jakie relacje łączą te dwa rodzaje kultu, może ukazać tylko głębsze wejście w ich teologię. W niniejszym artykule proponuję więc teologiczne spojrzenie na nauczanie papieża św. Jana Pawła II zawarte w encyklikach Redemptor hominis (4 marca 1979) i Dives in misericordia (30 listopada 1980), gdyż w tych ważnych i ciągle aktualnych dokumentach zawarte są bardzo wyraźne i inspirujące wypowiedzi, pozwalające uchwycić relację zachodzącą między teologią Serca Jezusa i teologią miłosierdzia Bożego. Na tej autorytatywnej i głębokiej teologicznie podstawie będzie można ukazać ścisłe relacje zachodzące między odpowiadającymi tym teologiom dwoma rodzajami kultu i ich wzajemne dopełnianie się. Proponowane ujęcie, zakorzenione w nauczaniu św. Jana Pawła II, może stać się drogowskazem do spójnego połączenia tych dwóch rodzajów kultu w ramach pobożności chrześcijańskiej. Rozwijającemu się kultowi miłosierdzia Bożego należy zapewnić łączność z innymi formami kultu. Chodzi o to, by kult miłosierdzia Bożego usytuować w ramach tradycji kultu Kościoła, a tym samym odkryć w nim możliwości duchowe aktualizowania kultu kościelnego i przystosowania go do nowej sytuacji duchowej obecnych czasów.

    Theology has recently witnessed a renewed interest in the primary mystery of Christianity, namely the mystery of the Holy Trinity. The effects of theological reflection in this matter are becoming more and more visible. More prominent position of Christology inevitably results in a profound reflection over the origins of Jesus Christ phenomenon framed by the mystery of the Trinity as well as over his lasting connection with this mystery (pre-existence). Jesus Christ is described to be in a strong relation with both the Father and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, a plenty of works and suggested perspectives may be found in Trinitarian theology, which evidently influence new catechisms and religion textbooks. This study points out to certain issues which seem to arouse a greatest interest in Trinitarian theology. First, it has to be said, that the most emphasised matter is self-communication of God, which results in the statement that the mystery of the Holy Trinity is concealed from Man and leads to the enlightenment of His life. The reflection upon the mystery of Jesus Christ usually stresses all the themes where He appears as the Son of the Father. Particularly significant in this respect is the so called “logion of John” (Matthew 11:25–27). In the case of the Holy Spirit the major issue is His connection not only with the reality of freedom in God and in Man, but also with the mystery of the communion and the love of God. Because of the significant role of language in the reflection over the Holy Trinity there are some voices suggesting wider application of the biblical language. Finally, it has to be stressed that a prayer, as the way to loving cognition of God, is a commonly discussed topic.
    W ostatnim okresie można zauważyć w teologii odnowione zainteresowanie pierwszą tajemnicą wiary chrześcijańskiej, którą jest tajemnica Trójcy Świętej. Efekty refleksji teologicznej w tej dziedzinie są coraz bardziej widoczne. Coraz większy nacisk kładziony na chrystologię nieuchronnie pociąga za sobą pogłębioną refleksję o genezie wydarzenia Jezusa Chrystusa w ramach tajemnicy trynitarnej i o jego stałym związku z tą tajemnicą (preegzystencja). Jezus Chrystus jest widziany w bardzo mocnym związku z Ojcem oraz z Duchem Świętym. Odnotowuje się więc w teologii trynitarnej duży rozkwit dzieł i proponowanych ujęć, wyraźnie wpływający na nowe katechizmy i podręczniki religii. W niniejszym opracowaniu zostają wskazane niektóre zagadnienia, które zwracają w teologii trynitarnej szczególną uwagę. Na pierwszym miejscu trzeba podkreślić, że zagadnieniem mocno akcentowanym jest samoudzielanie się Boga, którego rezultatem jest podkreślenie, ze tajemnica Trójcy jest tajemnicą dla człowieka, prowadzącą do oświecenia jego życia. Wychodząc od tajemnicy Jezusa Chrystusa, podkreśla się wszystkie te wątki, w których jawi się On jako Syn Ojca. Szczególnego znaczenia nabrał w tym względzie tak zwany „logion Janowy” (Mt 11, 25–27). W odniesieniu do Ducha Świętego podkreśla się Jego związek z rzeczywistością wolności w Bogu i w człowieku, a tym samym także z tajemnicą boskiej komunii i miłości. Niebagatelną rolę odgrywają w refleksji nad Trójcą Świętą kwestie dotyczące języka, zwłaszcza postuluje się szersze uwzględnienie języka biblijnego. W końcu trzeba pokreślić, że wiele uwagi poświęca się modlitwie jako drodze do miłującego poznania Boga.
