    W tym wydaniu monografii Autorzy podjęli próbę przedstawienia implementacji omówionych doktryn w funkcjonowaniu Unii Europejskiej. Przykładów jest wiele, gdyż cała struktura ponadnarodowa uwzględniając chociażby zasady integracji, opiera się na tych doktrynach. Wybrano przykład euroregionów w których implementacja zbliża się do obywatela realizując subsydiarność w praktyce, a o to chodziło Ojcom Europy. W pracy wykorzystano badania naukowe, dostępną literaturę, materiały źródłowe, teksty przemówień, materiały archiwalne, dostępne między innymi za pośrednictwem źródeł elektronicznych. Opracowanie jest efektem projektu naukowo-badawczego podjętego w Instytucie Zrównoważonego Rozwoju i Marketingu oraz Instytucie Zarządzania na Wydziale Organizacji i Zarządzania Politechniki Łódzkiej. Celem naukowym projektu jest próba spojrzenia na integrację europejską przez pryzmat nauk o zarządzaniu oraz marketingu, w szczególności markę, jej tożsamość i wkład w polityczno-społeczną rzeczywistość. Analiza doktryn i działań Ojców Europy może być przewodnikiem w poszukiwaniu odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące założeń integracji europejskiej oraz kierunków rozwoju Unii Europejskiej.

    „Aby drogę mierzyć przyszłą, trzeba pomnieć skąd się wyszło” – tymi słowami Cyprian Kamil Norwid chciał uświadomić nam wielkie znaczenie przeszłości, którą traktować należy jako drogowskaz do budowania dobrej i bezpiecznej przyszłości. Zgodnie z tym mottem, by zrozumieć integrację europejską, jej cele, sens istnienia, a także konieczność jej kontynuacji i pogłębiania, należy powrócić do źródeł Wspólnot Europejskich. Zaś tymi źródłami są doktryny Ojców Europy oraz pozostałych „konstruktorów” i realizatorów europejskiego procesu integracji, ludzi, których wyobraźnia intelektualna wykraczała ponad wąskie widzenie interesów narodowych.
    When all Fathers of the european integration already passed away, a thought is arising, that it is missing somebody who would remind how big sacrifice was necessary to make, how difficult road it was necessary to follow, how many sacrifices and compromises were needed in order to make Europe the safe place, free from conflicts and the violence, friendly to the individual, guaranteeing people the freedom, the inviolability and the protection for last several dozen years. And how easily it is possible to foil this effort, being guided by particularistic and short-sighted businesses. Now, in the middle of the 21st century, the unity of Europe is saging under the weight of many challenges. To most essential it can be rank consequences of the financial crisis from 2008 and slowing down the growth in the economy; the asymmetrical redistribution of incomes and the asymmetrical allocation of places of employment in the international scale resulting from the globalization; problems of the euro zone including the failure financial of Greece and problems of Italian banks; armed conflicts in the Middle East and refugee and migration crisis; threats of the terrorism; crisis in the Ukraine and the politics of Russia concerning the protection of its areas of influence; a spiritual crisis and reviving moods of the isolationism. When the cohesion of the European Union is standing under a big question, it is worthwhile coming back to views of both action of people which led to the reconciliation and the cooperation of european nations being earlier so hostile to each other that without any scruple were able for centuries to devote their sons for the sake of the fight against the ancient enemy. Perhaps, this reminding will make aware contemporary generations, touched already with the partial historical amnesia and thus so careless in one's proceedings, how difficulty is to build bridges of the cooperation and how easily is to demolish them, and how therefore the project of the european federation is valuable. Nowadays, we can see more clearly than at any time until now, that the peace, the stabilization and the abundance on the Old Continent weren't given once and for all, but not cultivated can easily collapse. And then achievements of Fathers of the european integration, and achievements of a few next european generations can be squandered, and those generetion would have to go back for several dozen years to the situation, in which they would have to solve its problems alone. Based on european integration in various parts of the globe different integration structures are created. Establishing these integration groups largely was based on observation of experience from integration in Europe initiated with Treaty from Paris. In South-east Asia already in 1967 Association of South-East Asian Nations – ASEAN, later because in the nineties came into existence in North America North American Free Trade Agreement – NAFTA and in South America the Mercado Comun del of Suras – MERCOSUR. The world which with admiration and jealousy for last several dozen years was watching Europe, and was imitated implemented in Europe solutions, with the incomprehension and the reverie perhaps will be thinking how it is possible that Europeans resigned from something, what the world was admiring.
