Opis:

Opis:
The book by Jan Smid contains vigorous narrative texts full of humorous stories and of dynamic depictions of North American nature. Jan Smid is working with situational and lexical humor (Becka 1946,112-113). Also, Jan Smid is using some possibilities that depend on vertical construction of the narrative texts. The subjective narrator in the book - Nat Jessel is the main character and he is expressing his views on various problems or on the behavior of other persons. The main source of humor is the Nat Jessel’s life with his lioness Eileen. People, that meet Nat Jessel with Eileen, cannot understand him and they consider life with lioness as very strange. They often say to Nat Jessel for example: “7b vyjste ten blazen, co se toula krajem s tou zlutou potvorou? Po po, co co vy jste to sent privedll" Nat Jessel is experiencing a lot of not only funny, but also unpleasant and dangerous stories caused by Eileen (problems with Samuel Dirty of Enterprise Herald, problems with the sheriff - Nat and Eileen get imprisoned by him). But Nat with Eileen are causing some problems to other characters in the book, too. Samuel Dirty is so frightened by Eileen, that he is sent to hospital. One of Nat Jessel’s friends is frightened by Eileen, because he thinks that Eileen is a name of Nat Jessel’s girlfriend (Nat Jessel told him only that Eileen is sitting in his car, he did not say who Eileen was). The name Eileen (name of the lioness and of Nat’s former girlfriend) is a source of lexical humor. When Nat speaks about Eileen, some people do not know, if he speaks about lioness or about his girlfriend. Jan Smid is using the metaphor, too, as a source of misunderstanding. For example Nat is speaking about lioness, and Mrs. Evelyne Haskett is thinking that he is speaking about some terrible woman (woman = lioness).By creating humorous stories and humorous situations Jan Smid is using the possibilities of communicative context. He is often using some sentences which are referring to the previous stories and situations (see texts 3, 4, 5 referring to the texts 1, 2).

This article deals with the syntactical constructions beginning with the word ono. We are going to concentrate to various types of structure, what include ono, syntactical subjectand other components (ono ale nic jineho nezbyva; ono je to vsechno fajn; ono byt prezidentem zni mnohem noblesneji neź byt jenom pfedsedou) or we deal with the Czechsyntactical structure with the word ono and without subject, too Uenźe ono ani tak nezaleźi na tom, jak ktera nemocnice vypada; ono by tu mohlo jit o nejaky takzvany ćestnydluh). We are going to try to interprete stylistic character of the structures, too. We were looking for the phrases in the Czech National Corp SYN2000 (see the addresshttp://ucnk.ff.muni.cz.)

Opis:
There is written about some interesting and important life stories of the Czech author of many tales of mystery and imagination Jakub Arbes in the Novel by František Všetièka PPed branami Omegy. F. Všetiëka depicts the episodes ofArbes's life in connection with subjects-matters of the tales of mystery and imagination: there are some events of Arbes "s Life (the events in the year 1848, imprisonment, the school years.. .), that are described in the "tales", too, There were some famous persons, who "has been changed" into literary characters (Arbes's favour teacher of catechism F. Schneider, the count Buquoy, the keeper in the prison in the town Ceská Lípa; some persons are entitled by the Greek letters Alfa, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta). Some events, places and some persons are depicted in VšetiCka's novel by language expressions similar to the expressions, that used Jakub Arbes in his tales of mystery and imagination (for example by expressive adjec tives škaredå, nevlídný, šílený, tgjtrlík). Some scenery of the novel Pied branami Omeo are depicted in the tales of mystery and imagination, too (in the prison, in the front of the Buquoy"s palace in Prague in 1848...). F. Všetiëka is well-known Czech literary theorist dealing almost with the structure and composition of the literary texts. He used in the novel Pied branami Omeo methods of text compositions, the way Jakub Arbes has used them in his tales of mystery and imaginations, too (for example combination the chronology and retrospective, of the real events and imagination..
