Parenthood is an integral element of conjugal love, which in its unifying aspect manifests its dynamism ad intra, while in its procreative aspect it shows its dynamism ad extra. Living through the procreative dimension is a particularly difficult task for those spouses who experience the drama of infertility. This paper briefly discusses the problem of infertility faced by a significant number of married couples today. It points out that instead of using the term “infertility”, it is better to talk about reduced fertility. The paper also presents the spiritual,
psychological and moral difficulties faced by spouses who cannot have biological children. These difficulties are at the same time challenges for the pastoral care of families. The way to overcome these difficulties is to refer to the holistic approach to human fertility and parenthood, which takes into account both the physical and spiritual dimension. In the Magisterium of the Church, this approach to parenthood is expressed in the terms “the genealogy of the person” (Letter to Families), “integral procreation” (The Family and the Human Procreation) and
“an expanding fruitfulness” (Amoris laetitia in Latin: amplificata fecunditas). An attempt of practical realization of such an understood holistic approach to parenthood is used in naprotechnology and teaching of fertility recognition with the Creighton Model, the so-called SPICE instruction.
Rodzicielstwo jest integralnym elementem miłości małżeńskiej, która w aspekcie jednoczącym przejawia swój dynamizm ad intra, natomiast w aspekcie prokreacyjnym ukazuje dynamizm ad extra. Przeżywanie wymiaru prokreacyjnego jest szczególnie trudnym zadaniem dla tych małżonków, którzy doświadczają dramatu niepłodności. niniejszy artykuł omawia w skrócie problem niepłodności, z jakim mierzy się znaczna liczba współczesnych małżeństw. Zwraca uwagę, że zamiast używać terminu „niepłodność”, lepiej mówić o obniżonej płodności. Artykuł przestawia również trudności natury duchowej, psychologicznej i moralnej, przed jakimi stają małżonkowie, którzy nie mogą mieć biologicznych dzieci. Trudności te stanowią zarazem wyzwania dla duszpasterstwa rodzin. drogą przezwyciężenia tych zagrożeń jest odwołanie się do całościowego ujęcia ludzkiej płodności i rodzicielstwa, które uwzględnia zarówno wymiar cielesny, jak i duchowy. W Magisterium Kościoła takie ujęcie rodzicielstwa znajduje wyraz w określeniach „genealogia osoby” (List do rodzin), „prokreacja integralna” (Rodzina a ludzka prokreacja) oraz „płodność poszerzona” (Amoris laetitia, po łacinie: amplificata fecunditas). Próbą praktycznej realizacji tak rozumianego całościowego podejścia do rodzicielstwa jest stosowana w naprotechnologii i nauczaniu rozpoznawania płodności za pomocą Modelu Creighton tzw. instrukcja SPICE. - Źródło:
