Opis:
The positive asymptotically stable continuous-time linear systems are approximated by corresponding asymptotically stable discrete-time linear systems. Two methods of the approximation are presented and the comparison of the methods is addressed. The considerations are illustrated by three numerical examples and an example of positive electrical circuit.

Opis:
The responses of continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems with derivatives of their inputs are addressed. It is shown that the formulae for state vectors and outputs are also valid for their derivatives if the inputs and outputs and their derivatives of suitable order are zero for t = 0. Similar results are also shown for the discrete-time linear systems and for the fractional continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems.
W artykule rozpatrywane są ciągłe układy liniowe oraz dyskretne układy liniowe z pochodnymi (i odpowiednio różnicami) wymuszeń. Pokazano, że wzory określające pochodne wyjścia układów i wektorów stanu są również prawdziwe dla ich pochodnych jeżeli odpowiednie warunki początkowe i ich pochodnych są zerowe. Analogiczne wyniki zostały również wyprowadzone dla układów dyskretnych rzędów całkowitych i niecałkowitych.

Opis:
The positivity of descriptor continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems with regular pencils are addressed. Such systems can be reduced to standard linear systems and can be decomposed into dynamical and static parts. Two definitions of the positive systems are proposed. It is shown that the definitions are not equivalent. Conditions for the positivity of the systems and the relationship between two classes of positive systems are established. The considerations are illustrated by examples of electrical circuits and numerical examples.

Opis:
The positivity and asymptotic stability of the descriptor time-varying discrete-time linear systems are addressed. The Weierstrass-Kronecker theorem on the decomposition of the regular pencil is extended to the time-varying discrete-time descriptor linear systems. Using the extension necessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity of the systems are established. Sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of the positive systems are presented. The effectiveness of the tests is demonstrated on the example.

Opis:
A new class of positive different orders fractional 2D linear systems is introduced. A notion of (á, â) orders difference of 2D function is proposed. Fractional 2D state equations of linear systems are given and their solutions are derived using 2D Z-transform. The classical Cayley-Hamilton theorem is extended to the 2D fractional linear systems. Neccesary and sufficient conditions for the positivity, reachability and controllability to zero of the fractional 2D linear systems are established.

The realization problem for 2D positive singular linear hybrid systems is formulated, as well as a method based on the state variable diagram for finding a positive realization of a given improper transfer function is proposed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a positive realization of a given improper transfer function are established. Conditions for the positivity of linear electrical circuits composed of resistors, coils, condensators and voltage (current) sources are established. It is shown that: 1) the electrical circuit composed of resistors, coils and voltage source is positive for almost all values of their resistances, inductances and source voltages if and only if the number of coils is less or equal to the number of its linearly independent meshes, 2) the electrical circuit is not positive for any values of its resistances, capacitances and source voltages if each its branch contains resistor, capacitor and voltage source, 3) the positive n-meshes electrical circuit with only one inductance in each linearly independent mesh is reachable if all resistances of branches belonging to two linearly independent meshes are zero 4) the electrical circuits of the structure shown on Fig.5.2 is reachable if and only if the condition (5.11) is satisfied.

The specific duality and asymptotic stability of the positive linear electrical circuits are addressed. The specific duality of positive linear electrical circuits composed of resistances, inductances, capacitances and source voltages is established. 1) The linear electrical circuits are positive if and only if the common branches between meshes with resistances and inductances and meshes with resistances and capacitances contain only source voltages; 2) In linear electrical circuits the interchanges of the inductances by the capacitances and the capacitances by inductances do not change the asymptotic stability of the electrical circuits. The asymptotic stability of the positive and nonpositive electrical circuits is analyzed.

The analysis of the positivity and stability of linear electrical circuits by the use of state-feedbacks is addressed. Generalized Frobenius matrices are proposed and their properties are investigated. It is shown that if the state matrix of an electrical circuit has generalized Frobenius form then the closed-loop system matrix is not positive and asymptotically stable. Different cases of modification of the positivity and stability of linear electrical circuits by state-feedbacks are discussed and necessary conditions for the existence of solutions to the problem are established.
