Opis:
Themes of “health” and “illness” háve been always very popular in spoken and written communication in Czech. In the corpora o f spoken Czech the words zdraví (health), nemoc, choroba, and onemocnění (illness) are often infrequent, depending on the smáli range of those corpora. In the corpus o f written texts SYN (1.3 billion words and tokens), words were found in a lot o f thousands seutences. That is wh> we háve decided to research the words zdrávi, nemoc, choroba, onemocněni in the collocations 'adjective + zdraví', 'adjective + nemoc', adjective + choroba', 'adjective + onemocnění'. We presuppose the fřequency o f the collocations can reflect how much attention is paid to the themes of “health” and “illness” (what kind of illness are spoken about, what problems of health are discussed, etc.). Those collocations are ušed in ioumalistic texts, and some ot them háve been found in scientific texts. We háve tried to fínd the fřequency of those collocation reflexes interests o f various themes of health and illness. We found that the use o f the most ťřequent collocations reflect the problems of i lnesses that people are mos mterested in: for example, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, in generál mental illnesses, and mental and physical health. The name o f diseases oř the characteristics of illnesses and diseases are onen used in joumalistic texts dealing with medical matters that are intended for laypersons, and that are characterized by persuasive components.

Opis:
Univerbization (or condensing) - fusing of multiverbal lexemes into one-word lexemes - is a word-forming process that is frequently used not only in contemporary spoken Czech texts, but also in the written texts. Linguistic research in the last 40-50 years proved that “univerbizates” are used in the joumalistic and media texts very often. The aim of the paper is to present univerbizates naming phenomena of the media and phenomena that are described in the media texts - names of persons (professions, performers), of actions and operations, names of films, plays or songs and compositions. The Czech national corpus has been used for this purpose. Results of the research are as follows - morę than 90 % univerbizates are formed by suffixation, of which nearly 75% - with the use of the -ak or -ka suffixes. They occur in various literary and colloąuial texts.

Opis:
There are parables with the names of colours in Czech that compare the “colour of people - of the human face, human skin”, of the colour of anything else to the colour of anything in naturę, of natural scenery: to the colour of plants (fiuty jako pampeliśka — as yellow as a dandelion, źluty jako citron — as yellow as a lemon / lemon coloured), to the colours of animals or birds (fiuty jako kanarek - as yellow as a canary / canary coloured) or to the colours of anything else in natural scenery (śedy jako morę - as grey as a billów, śedy jako hvezdny vecer/hvezdne nebe - as grey as an evening sky with stars), or the parables can compare the colour of the human body (face) to the colour of some things fiuty jako vosk — as yellow as a wax /, źluty jako pergamen - as yellow as vellum, źluty jako pivo - as yellow as a beer, śedy jako ocel — as grey as steel/steel-grey, śedy jako popel - as grey as ashes / cinereous). Authors of belles-lettres or of poetry using parable-comparison aROVAwith the words źluty / yellow usually depict the human visage as a symptom of illness or caducity (jeho oblićej byl źluty jako vosk - his face was yellow as wax' byl źluty jako per- gamen - he wasyellow as vellum) or they etiolate the people (zuby mel źlutejako citron - his teeth were lemon yellowed, dostał źloutenku a byl źluty jako kanarek - he suffered from jaundice and was canary coloured). Using the word śedy / grey in parable-compari- son authors sometimes depict people of nasty appearance (oblićej śedy jako prach / jako popel - face as grey as dust // as ashes / cindereous), but sometimes they picture somet- hing nice in the human appearance (pći śede jako hvezdne nebe / jako morę / jako obld- zky - eyes as grey as an evening sky with stars / billowi pebbles).

Opis:
The names of institutions in the Czech language are:– multi-word lexeme/collocation: prùmyslová škola, úøad práce;– one-word lexeme – primary derivates: ohlašovna, knihovna;– “univerbizates“ – words formed by fusion of multi-word lexeme: prùmyslová škola, úøad práce (multi-word lexemes) – prùmyslovka, pracák (univerbizates).Names of institutions that are formed as univerbizates, are almost stylistically marked. They are stylistically differentiated: some of them are standard (devítiletka, jednotøídka), others are slightly substandard – colloquial (prùmyslovka, akciovka) or more substandard – slangy: uèòák, beròák, dìcák.The process of derivation of univerbizates is not so varied as derivation of the primary derivates. Most univerbizates – names of institutions are formed by several suffixes: -ka, -ák, rarely by suffixes -áè, -da, -árna. There are only substantive univerbizates and probably no adjectival, verbal or adverbial univerbizates. The word-forming of univerbizates is quite conservative compared to the word-forming of other words in Czech.

Opis:
Univerbization is a process of word-formation by which the words of a compound lexeme or of a syntactic construction fuse into a single word/one-word lexeme: that one-word lexeme is called univerbizate (in Czech univerbizát - a result of the process of univerbization), for example: světový rekord (world rekord - compound lexeme) - svěťák (an „univerbizate”); mikrovlnná trouba (microwave oven - compound lexeme) - mikrovlnka (an „univerbizate”). The „univerbizates” are almost derived by suffix from one of the word of compound lexeme (světový - svěťák, mikrovlnný - mikrovlnka). Czech national corpus evidences that there are many „univerbizates” in contemporary Czech texts. We are going to find the „univerbizates” in corpora SYN2000, SYN2005, SYN2006pub that have the same language form and different meaning, but we assume that the meaning of the „univerbizates” with the same language form are connected with one another. The univerbizates can have the same language form like: - other „univerbizates”, for example dvouletka means: a) dvouletá rostlina, for example pupalka dvouletá (evening primrose); b) dvouleté období (two-year/biennial cycle); - other words, that are not called „univerbizates”, for example dopravák a) dopravák (an „univerbizate”) means dopravní policista (traffic policeman, transit cop); b) when dopravák means zaměstnanec ve sféře dopravy („some persone working in the sphere of transportation and traffic”), it is not an „univerbizate”. We are going to deal with process of „univerbization” by which words of various compound lexeme or various syntactic structures fuse into the same one-word lexeme. We will compare frequency of them and stylish characteristics.
