    In the light of the statement The Church: Towards a Common Vision the article concentrates on the specific question of the relation of the Church to the world. The key statements of the document are depicted showing the Church as sign and servant of God’s design for the world (pts. 25–26) and the Church in God’s plan for creation (pts. 58–59). In the first part is explained the biblical notion of “the world”. The second point approaches the historical aspect of the relation “Church – the world”. The third part of the article tries to convince that the contemporary Christian thought perceives the relation of the Church to the world through the category of universal reconciliation in Christ and in the Holy Spirit.

    Artykuł jest komentarzem do wykładu K.Bartha Der Heilige Geist und daschristliche Leben. Centralną myśl stanowi teza, że nie istnieje żadna forma„kontynuacji” (Kontinuität) między duchem człowieka a Duchem Boga. Ten brak ciągłości widoczny jest w tajemnicy stworzenia – istnieje ontologiczna „nieciągłość” (Diskontinuität) między stworzeniem a Stwórcą. Podobną „nie-ciągłość” zauważa Barth w tajemnicy pojednania – grzech oddziela człowieka od Tego, który jest Święty. Także w tajemnicy odkupienia różnica międzyczasem a wiecznością tworzy diastazę między żyjącym w czasie człowiekiem a wiecznym Bogiem. Relacja między nimi może zaistnieć jedynie w wyniku cudu Bożej łaski.
    The article is a commentary on K. Barth’s lecture Der Heilige Geist und das christliche Leben (The Holy Spirit and the Christian Life). Its central thought is the thesis that there is no form of ‘continuation’ (Kontinuität) between man’s spirit and the Spirit of God. This lack of continuity can be seen in the mystery of creation – there is an ontological ‘discontinuity’ (Diskontinuität) between the creation and the Creator. Barth observes the similar ‘discontinuity’ in the mystery of reconciliation – the sin separates man from That, who is Holy. Also in the mystery of redemption the difference between time and eternity creates the diastase between the man living in time and the eternal God. The relation between them can appear only as a result of the miracle of God’s grace.

    The article presents the central place of the Bible in the life of Ulrich Zwingli. The Reformation in Zurich, whose origins were mainly his work, revealed this in several fields: in preaching, theological disputes and the so-called “The school of prophecy” (Prophezei). On each of these fields, the Swiss reformer exhibited the authority of the Bible – incomparable with other authorities. At the same time, he emphasized the role of the Holy Spirit in the interpretation of biblical texts. The truth about the inspiring work of the Holy Spirit and the truth about the sovereignty of God are at the heart of the life and theological heritage of the reformer from Zurich.
    Artykuł prezentuje centralne miejsce Biblii w życiu U. Zwingliego. Reformacja w Zurychu, której początki były głównie jego dziełem, ujawniła to na kilku polach: w kaznodziejstwie, prowadzonych dysputach teologicznych i w tzw. „szkole proroctw” (Prophezei). Na każdym z tych pól szwajcarski reformator eksponował autorytet Biblii – nieporównywalny z innymi autorytetami. Równocześnie podkreślał rolę Ducha Świętego w interpretacji tekstów biblijnych. Prawda o inspirującym działaniu Ducha Świętego, jak i prawda o suwerenności Boga leżą u podstaw życia i teologicznego dziedzictwa reformatora z Zurychu.

    Artykuł prezentuje nowy dokument wypracowany w Komisji „Wiara i Ustrój” Światowej Rady Kościołów The Church: Towards a Common Vision, który w języku polskim opublikowano pt. Ku wspólnej wizji Kościoła. Dokument ma wysoką rangę ekumenicznego uzgodnienia. W punkcie pierwszym wspomniane zostają omawia opracowania poprzedzające dokument, punkt drugi wprowadza w jego strukturę, natomiast w punkcie trzecim analizie poddano wybrane istotne treści uzgodnienia. Skoncentrowano się na trynitarnym charakterze Kościoła i jego jedności, jedności Kościoła jako daru Trójjedynego Boga i zadaniu dla chrześcijan, Kościele jako sakramencie zbawienia, trosce Kościoła o los stworzenia, społeczno-politycznych aspektach zaangażowania Kościoła w świecie, szeroko rozumianym stosunku Kościoła do świata, zagadnieniu ciągłości i zmiany w Kościele oraz na procesie pojednania posługiwań. Ostatnia część zawiera próbę krótkiej oceny.
    The article presents the new document of the Commission “Faith and Order” of the World Council of Churches, which was released under the title The Church: Towards a Common Vision. The document is declared to be an ecumenical agreement of high importance. In the first chapter works have been displayed which preceded the document, the second point highlights its structure and the last one scrutinizes its important contents. Author focuses on the trinity nature of Church and its unity, on the unity of Christians which has been considered both as a gift of the Triune God and a task for Christians, on the teaching on Church as the sacrament of salvation, on the Church’s concern for creation, on the social and political aspects of Church’s involvement in the world, on the broad Church’s relation toward the world, on the issue on continuity and change of the Church and finally, on the process of ministry reconciliation. A short assessment of the document is provided as a conclusion.

    Na tle zasadniczych nurtów współczesnej chrystologii i klasyfikacji sporządzonej przez kard. Waltera Kaspera przedstawiono kilka istotnych założeń i cech chrystologii Wacława Hryniewicza. Źródła artykułu ograniczono do jego paschalnej trylogii: Chrystus nasza Pascha (1982), Nasza Pascha w Chrystusie (1987), Pascha Chrystusa w dziejach człowieka i wszechświata (1991). Głęboko biblijne, teologiczno-historycznie i ekumenicznie rozważania starały się pokazać, że paschalna chrystologia Hryniewicza unika niebezpieczeństwa jednostronnych ujęć różnych kierunków chrystologii kerygmatyczno-dogmatycznej, jak i chrystologii ukierunkowanych wyłącznie na Jezusa historycznego. Paschalna chrystologia zdaje się ponadto godzić ujęcia ściśle teologiczne z elementami duchowości.
    The article describes the key premises and features of Wacław Hryniewicz’s Christology. The presentation is done on the background of contemporary currents in Christology and their classification drawn up by Walter Cardinal Kasper. The sources of the article are limited to the Hryniewicz’s paschal trilogy: Christ, Our Passover (1982), Our Passover in Christ (1987), The Passover of Christ in the History of Man and Cosmos (1991). Deeply biblical, theological, historical and ecumenical investigations were aimed to show, that Hryniewicz’s paschal Christology managed to avoid unilateral presentation of various streams of kerygmatic and dogmatic Christology, as well as of Christologies focused solely on historical Jesus. Paschal Christology is also able to bring together purely theological concepts and the elements of spirituality.
