    Opis:
    The article focuses on the theoretical frame of the speech therapy care problem in various mental illnesses. It presents psychiatric disorders particularly associated with speech and communication problems and diversifies the character of speech disorders in psychiatry, indicating that they can oscillate between variously intensified language pathology and different ways of thinking and speaking; as such, they may be permanent or may disappear spontaneously after the episode of the disease is managed. The study defines the relationship between speech and mental disorders, and lists their short- and long-term effects in mental illnesses. Subsequently, it proceeds to circumscribe the place of a speech therapist in an interdisciplinary team, specifies what the logopaedic diagnosis in the process of a mental disorder is, and indicates other roles of a speech therapist in the broadly understood diagnostic and therapeutic process, e.g. the preventive one. The article formulates general goals and guidelines for speech therapy in mental disorders and discusses those aspects of the treatment which are closely related to the patient and the place of speech therapy care. The article concludes that speech pathologists in psychiatry have a chance to consolidate their position. The conditions which have to be met in order to do so are: the profound description and interpretation of speech disorders in psychiatry, the balanced assessment of diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities, and cooperation within an interdisciplinary team.

    Artykuł dotyczy aktualnych problemów terapii logopedycznej w zaburzeniach należących do spektrum autyzmu, związanych z podmiotowością, celowością i metodami terapii (w tym kwestią dowodów naukowych). Kategorię podmiotowości autorka odnosi do osób z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu, ich rodzin, ale także samych terapeutów. Przywołuje w tym kontekście założenia nurtu opieki skoncentrowanej na osobie (person-centred care). Wymienia potencjalne zagrożenia dla podmiotowego traktowania osób z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu. Pisząc o celowości terapii logopedycznej, zwraca uwagę na dobór celów, ich hierarchizację oraz dynamikę w ich realizacji. Podkreśla ważność organizacji postępowania terapeutycznego, zwłaszcza w obliczu aktualnych zmian w rzeczywistości społecznej. W końcowej części omawia problem metod terapii zaburzeń ze spektrum autyzmu, w tym kwestię dowodów naukowych oraz nurtu praktyki opartej na dowodach (evidence based practice, EBP). Sygnalizuje, jakie wątpliwości budzi nurt EBP i jakie trudności wiążą się ze stosowaniem tego paradygmatu w terapii logopedycznej. Przedstawia problem dowodów naukowych z perspektywy filozofii nauki. Nurt EBP jest zapośredniczony w konkretnej koncepcji filozoficznej, tj. w empiryzmie i realizuje ideał nauki zgodny z tą tradycją. Uznając niekwestionowaną wartość badań empirycznych i wkład empiryzmu w rozwój nauki, autorka proponuje, by rozróżniając typy wiedzy (różnie definiowane dowody naukowe, doświadczenia indywidualne itp.) uznawać odpowiednią wartość każdego z nich. Podkreśla przy tym wartość doświadczeń i refleksji samych osób z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu.
    The article deals with the current problems of speech and language therapy in autism spectrum disorders, which are connected with subjectivity, purposefulness, methods and scientific evidence. The author points out the importance of the category of subjectivity in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders, referring it to people with autism spectrum disorders, their families, but also therapists themselves. She recalls the person-centered care (PCC) concept in this context. Lists the potential threats for subjectivity in treatment of people with autism spectrum disorders. relates the problem of subjectivity to cooperation with families of people with autism, as well as cooperation within a multidisciplinary team. Emphasizes the importance of knowledge about emotions and awareness of cultural factors as important in the therapy of people with autism spectrum disorders. Writing about the purposefulness of speech therapy in autism spectrum disorder, he draws attention to the selection of goals, their hierarchy and dynamics in their implementation. Draws attention to the importance of the problem of organizing therapeutic treatment, especially in the face of current changes in social reality. In the final part she discusses the problem of therapy methods. In the final part she discusses the problem of therapy methods in autism spectrum disorders, including problem of scientific evidence and evidence based practice. Indicates the possible reasons why this problems became the subject of lively discussions. Discusses the doubts related to the use of evidence-based practice (EBP) paradigm in speech therapy. It evokes a look at the problem of scientific evidence understood behind the EBP stream from the perspective of the philosophy of science. In its light, EBP is a creation of human thought mediated in a specific philosophical concept, i.e. in empiricism, and realizes the ideal of science in line with this tradition. recognizing the unquestionable value of empirical research and the contribution of empiricism to the development of science, the author suggests that when distinguishing between types of knowledge (differently defined scientific evidence, individual experiences, etc.), do not re-evaluate or undervaluate any of them.
