- In 15 rabbits infected with T. spiralis (5000 and 10000 larvae) the activity of lactic acid dehydrogenase (LAD), transaminases (GOT and GPT) and in some cases that of aldolase was examined in the blood serum taken before the infection and 39 days after the infection. Changes were found to occur in the behaviour of protoplasmatic elements, in the course of trichinellosis; beginning from the 3d postinfection day, the activity of GPT increases, persisting on this almost 4-fold higher level than the initial one, throughout the experimental period. At the 3d - 4th week there was also an elevation in GOT and LAD activity. The aldolase activity was comparable to that of GPT, though it was less pronounced.
