Opis:: The text is focused on the characteristics of news in daily TV programmes, such as the news or broadcasts on round-the-clock television (e.g. TVN 24). The author proposes a definition of news and tries to approach its intrinsic features in the Polish conditions, illustrating the discussion with examples. A full description on news (considering such problems as content and the most important characteristics) enables the systematisation of an event and an analysis of news in the Polish mass media.

Opis:: The paper contains an analysis of a highly popular regional daily TV news program called “Łódzkie Wiadomości Dnia” (Daily News from Lodz), emitted and produced by channel TVP Łódź. The author carried out precise quantitative and qualitative research based on the programs emitted during one full week. The character of the program proved to be different than that of nationwide and international TV news magazines, and contained more social and practical information for the average viewer (about infrastructure, ordinary people and their problems, cultural events in Łódź and in the surounding region). The editors try to avoid hard political news and controversies, usually remaining closer to infotainment and politainment. The selection of news and topics benefits the program and results in the high quality of this regional TV news magazine.

Opis:: The text describes selected publicistic programmes produced in 2013 by the regional branch of Polish National Television in Łódź. The author makes use of such analytical tools as modern rhetoric & stylistics, the study of non-verbal communication (including colours and their meaning), and mechanisms for persuasion and manipulation in the media. Based on the analysis carried out, the author assesses the quality of programmes and their role in the TV schedule, taking into account the context of their public mission.

Opis:: The article focuses on the qualitative content analysis of a talk-show called Studio Polska, broadcast by the Polish national news channel TVP Info.
