Opis:
Increasingly, in the environment of academia and business, new challenges for industry are being discussed in connection with the fourth industrial revolution. Industry 4.0 is the result of the development of cyber-physical manufacturing systems as part of the fourth industrial revolution. Researchers, politicians and entrepreneurs are discussing the directions of changes in industry. Industry 4.0 marks new areas of change in the sphere of production and management. The development of the Industry 4.0 concept forces modern enterprises to adapt quickly and flexibly to changing demand conditions. This is reflected in the creation of new business models that allow for the introduction of innovation, rapid reorganization of processes and very flexible adaptation of the functioning of enterprises to the conditions of the changing competitive and widespread environment. The aim of the article is to present the concept of a business model assuming high flexibility in the Industry 4.0 era.

Opis:
Industry 4.0 is the result of the development of cyber-physical generation systems as a part of the fourth industrial revolution. Industry 4.0 sets new areas for change in the sphere of production and management but also influences various aspects of society. Industry 4.0 is focused on continuous improvement of production processes. This is a turnaround in the production control methodology, as the growing expectations of customers in the modern market cause, along with the increase in production efficiency, customisation of the product. In this trend, the customer decides about the product, personalising it as much as possible and in the best possible way. These are new challenges in the field of inventory management. The article aims to present a method of calculating the optimal amount of the cost of a rotating stock in a production enterprise with an unevenly distributed demand, which is the case with personalised orders.

The article presents a business model based on an industrial network of companies capable of producing personalized products in an Industry 4.0 environment. Based on research conducted in Poland, in manufacturing companies, the critical problems associated with the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies and the expected benefits associated with their implementation are addressed. The model’s task is to integrate a customer expecting personalized production with a network of companies with the appropriate production resources. The original achievement is the integration of the customer and the manufacturer around an e-business platform, which allows the rapid prototyping of a network of SME companies capable of realizing personalized production. The proposed model describes the architecture of enterprise cooperation under the conditions of implementing the Industry 4.0 concept and is dedicated to the SME sector. The model provides a basis for building prototypes of e-business platforms of small and medium-sized enterprises.

After three industrial revolutions, the fourth comes, which transfers production to sophisticated networks of companies equipped with intelligent devices, machines, means of transport, communicating with each other using modern technologies. It creates new challenges for industrial enterprises, it requires redefining existing business models. The development of the concept of Industry 4.0 forces modern enterprises to quickly and flexibly adapt to the changing conditions of the technological environment. This is reflected in the changes taking place in the area of social and technical architecture of business models. Industry 4.0 contributes to creating a new kind of interaction between people and machines. These interactions significantly affect the way work is done and the resource allocation in the social and technical architecture of business models. The aim of the article is to identyfy the changes taking place in the area of social architecture of the business model in the era of Industry 4.0.
Po trzech rewolucjach przemysłowych przychodzi czwarta, która przenosi produkcję do wyrafinowanych sieci firm wyposażonych w inteligentne urządzenia, maszyny, środki transportu, komunikujących się ze sobą za pomocą nowoczesnych technologii. Stwarza to nowe wyzwania dla przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych, wymaga ponownego zdefiniowania istniejących modeli biznesowych. Opracowanie koncepcji Przemysłu 4.0 zmusza nowoczesne przedsiębiorstwa do szybkiego i elastycznego dostosowywania się do zmieniających się warunków środowiska technologicznego. Znajduje to odzwierciedlenie w zmianach zachodzących w obszarze architektury społecznej i technicznej modeli biznesowych przedsiębiorstw. Przemysł 4.0 przyczynia się do tworzenia nowego rodzaju interakcji między ludźmi i maszynami. Te interakcje znacząco wpływają na sposób wykonywania pracy i alokację zasobów w architekturze społecznej i technicznej modeli biznesowych. Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie zmian zachodzących w obszarze architektury społecznej modelu biznesowego w dobie Przemysłu 4.0.

Industry 4.0 is a collective term meaning the integration of intelligent machines and systems, and the introduction of changes in production processes, aimed at increasing production efficiency and introducing the possibility of flexible changes in the assortment of products. Industry 4.0 is focused on the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through the use of self-learning robots and personalized production. The aim of the article is to identify key directions of improvement of the heat treatment process of cylindrical products in the context of applications of Industry 4.0 solutions. The analysis of individual stages of the heat treatment process using an example of a metallurgical company became the basis for determining key organizational and technical problems at individual stages of product manufacture.

Purpose: The article aims to identify areas of knowledge, key skills, and competencies of engineers and managers necessary in the Industry 5.0 environment. Design/methodology/approach: The achievements and results presented in the article were obtained based on literature research and expert research conducted among 25 professionals with experience in management, innovation, and technology of Industry 4.0. The research technique was a standardized interview. Findings: Based on the research results obtained, the essential knowledge areas and competencies of engineers and managers of industrial enterprises oriented to the implementation of the Industry 5.0 concept were identified. Research limitations/implications: The analysis of experts' opinions is only a signaling of the problem of the need for changes in the development of knowledge and competencies of industry employees functioning in the Industry 5.0 environment. The research should be extended to other areas of the economy, e.g., services, education, quality of life, and Society 5.0. Originality/value: Original achievements obtained during the research include getting valuable research results in the areas of knowledge, required key skills, and competencies required of future industry employees. The research results were obtained directly from experts who, through their daily experience, meet the knowledge and competence deficits of modern companies. In addition, experts have the necessary knowledge of new technologies and requirements posed by the Industry 5.0 environment.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to identify the key components of the business model of an enterprise operating in the Industry 5.0 environment Design/methodology/approach: The achievements and results presented in the article were obtained on the basis of literature research and expert research conducted among 25 professionals with experience in strategic management, Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technologies. The research technique was the Delphi method. The key components of the business model were presented in the form of Business Model Canvas. Findings: Based on the research results obtained, components shaping the business model of a company operating in the Industry 5.0 environment were identified. Research limitations/implications: The analysis of experts' opinions is a preliminary stage of identifying key components of the business model of a company operating in the Industry 5.0 environment. The research should be extended to the analysis of case studies of companies implementing Industry 4.0 technologies. Originality/value: The original achievements obtained during the research include obtaining valuable research results in the field of key components of the business model affecting the formation of its architecture, competitive advantage and value creation and monetization. The research results were obtained directly from experts who have the necessary knowledge of strategic management, Industry 4.0 technologies and Industry 5.0 pillars.

Over the last few years, the Industry 4.0 concept (called the Fourth Industrial Revolution) has attracted attention among both academics and practitioners. Industry 4.0 is a very broad domain including production processes, efficiency, data management, relationship with consumers, competitiveness, and much more. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to present new factory archetypes. The manuscript uses a synthesis of literature (scientific studies and industrial reports). Based on the results obtained, the archetypes of factories of Industry 4.0 are described. The presented manuscript contributes to the development of literature on the concept of Industry 4.0. The results obtained from the analysis of the literature not only summarize the existing knowledge about Smart Factories, but also indicate the directions of potential research.
