Opis:
The article investigates the factors affecting a trust in project management. The factors influencing trust in program and project management classified as either a cognitive-based or an affect-based are defined and analyzed in both manufacturing and service sectors based on survey data collected from project managers of various industries and service sectors firms in USA and abroad. The article alalyzes the trust affecting factors in both vertical such as supervisor-subordinate and horisontal such as peer-to-peer type of dependency among project management processes participants. The article follows two prevuiously published articles by author on trust in project management.

Opis:
The author shares his experiences of university teaching during the time of restrictions imposed on teaching and learning modes due to a pandemic. The relative scarcity of literature analyzing the response in the fields of science and engineering to the pandemic served as motivation. After providing general background information about the pandemic’s impact on educational systems worldwide, the article provides qualitative research with a narrative model for a case study of an engineering program at an American university. The analyzed case concerns the teaching and learning methodologies implemented in an electro-mechanical engineering technology bachelor’s degree program at Pennsylvania State University – the Fayette campus in the academic years 2020-22. Pennsylvania State University’s chosen teaching modes in the time of the pandemic to be used by instructors provide an example of adaptability of a higher education institution to the changing teaching and learning circumstances. The pedagogical approach to preparing, delivering, and assessment of learning effectiveness in engineering courses with a laboratory component is described. The article also shows how to use the learning management system, Canvas, with its analytical utility tool, to improve effectiveness and responsiveness of the teaching and learning process. The shortcomings and unexpected benefits of learning online pedagogy are shared and discussed. To assess the students’ perception and the study mode and their preferences in this regard, an anonymous, closed-ended, nominal-polytomous questionnaire was conducted, and its findings are analyzed. Further, to compare the students’ preferences as regards study modes depending on the academic discipline, engineering students were contrasted with students studying business as their major. The surveys also provide answers to trends in the longer term in students’ expectations for delivery of programs by higher education institutions.

Opis:
The computer networks and security topics have been covered traditionally by computer science and information sciences and technology academic programs at numerous universities and colleges around the country. These themes have been the subject of specific courses within the respective undergraduate academic majors, graduate programs and certification programs. With the rapid advancement in computer technologies and their applications, the business world created the demand for specialists with appropriate knowledge and skills set associated with computer networks, cybersecurity, and recently added cloud computing services. To satisfy the job requirements often in niche areas, many certification programs were created by industry and academia, which complemented the 2-year or 4-year academic programs. The certification programs either augment skills set developed by academic degree programs or provide skilled workforce upon completion of relatively short in duration education or training programs through certification processes without completing lengthy academic degree curricula.

Opis:
The article discusses the teaching methodology for a digital electronics course utilizing BASYS Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) boards (Digilent, Inc.), with a hybrid or blended classroom delivery method. The article outlines a methodology that combines the teaching of current digital circuit design technology with the use of a pedagogical approach to online delivery for a proportion of the course lectures. The FPGA boards by Digilent offer a modern PLD technology platform where beginners and more advanced practitioners alike may design and implement digital circuits with various operational capabilities. This means that the boards offer state-of-the art technology for computer engineering instructors to effectively introduce modern programmable memory technologies in the classroom. However, in light of the increased necessity for flexibility in college course delivery methods, the article also shows a successful method of material delivery that incorporates an online component. This aspect addresses the current expectations for greater course delivery flexibility and convenience due to the increasing number of adult students who need to work to support themselves and/or their families. Thus, the article offers an effective pedagogical approach to teaching current digital circuit analysis and design using a modern material delivery method.
