teatr i literatura niemiecka XIX wieku - Opis:
- In orbe theatrum Grafenortis. Karl von Holtei and Grafenort The article presents biographical and artistic connection between Breslau-born, well-known German writer and actor Karl von Holtei (1798-1880) with Grafenort in Lower Silesia. This relation started on autumn 1816 when he debuted in the palace theater of Count Johann Hieronymus von Herberstein. The count became his long-term patron. At that time Holtei met his first wife Luise Rogée, an actress of famous Hoftheater in Berlin. For many years, Holtei was a travelling artist and visited Grafenort very often performing and running the theatre. Also here, he wrote his first poems in the Silesian language. The best known works connected with Grafenort are Briefe aus und nach Grafenort and autobiography Vierzig Jahre where he collected his memories from Grafenort. In 2012, Grafenort Palace Foundation was established. The Foundation’s goal is to rebuild palace, which will be cultural centre of the region. Thanks to Foundation’s activities, the memory of Karl von Holtei is still alive in Grafenort, e. g. Hultaj Music Festival was organized in September 2018.
