Opis:
In the period of economic transformation an intensive development of market services in ¸ódê was conducive to creation of their new spatial arrangement. This arrangement, in case of the majority of basic features of market service firms, as well as their workers, stand out- in the cross section of the geodesic areas- by means of enormous spatial differentiation. As a result, the problem of synthetic depiction of different spatial arrangements of such type of variables gains a special meaning. Its solution is enabled by complex spatial typology of market services.

Opis:
The influence of religion on shaping the urban space has to be considered in at least two ways. Firstly, we have cities being created around the places of religious worship (Jackowski 2003, Beaujeu-Garnier, Chabot 1971). Secondly, we have places of religious worship created within the urban space. In both cases, we are dealing with the term of 2 religious space, which by analogy to S. Liszewski’s tourist space (1999) and A. Jackowski’s pilgrimage space (2004) can be defined as subspace of geographical space, created in relevance to its functions. It also seems that for the religious space of the city, its meaning defined by people is no less important than its functions. This article aims to analyze the changes of religious space in Łódź. The issue is presented in relation to the evolution of religious structure of Łódź citizens, from the early 19th century to present times. Various source materials have been used to create this article: census data, archive documents, interviews and questionnaires.

Opis:
A specific spatial structure of Łódź’s residential resources was distinguished in Łódź in the age of political transformation. Different features of these resources (336,1 thousand apartments in 2008) create different spatial patterns, which are usually highly variable. A synthetic approach is justified in this case, as this issue was not frequently subject to independent study. The object of this study is valorization and spatial typology of Łódź’s residential resources in conditions typical for the transformation period. The multivariable analysis of these resources involves distribution and intensity of residential development, its dynamics (in years 1988−2002), its age, types of ownership, as well as size of buildings and apartments, technical facilities in the apartments and population density in the apartments. Specific features of residential resources were investigated according to data from 2002 national census. The city was divided into 61 housing estate units. During the valorization of residential resources, a synthetic variable, being the function of 13 diagnostic features which are the stimulants of residential standard, was used. In order to elaborate the spatial typology of residential resources, the K-mean method was used, as one of the most effective iterative optimization methods used in numerical taxonomy. There were 19 typological features distinguished.

Opis:
After 1989 a new social category emerged in Poland – a gradually more and more numerous group of people with exceptionally high incomes, represented above all by millionaires. The pauperization of the majority of the socjety accompanies the growing affluence of this new social group. In current geographical literature little attention is devoted to enclaves of rich people, although their assets and property make them play a leading role in creating elites in the society. The richest people in the world, constituting an increasingly populous community, are mainly concentrated in the developed countries and in China. In Poland, almost 16 thousand persons reached an income of above 1 million zlotys in 2014. They mostly live in Mazovia and in Greater Poland. In 2014, about one thousand millionaires lived in Łódź voivodeship, constituting 6% of their total number in Poland. Their significance, measured by their numer per 10 000 residents, is strongly diversified. The highest values of this indicator, definitely higher than average for the province (3.06), are found in the strongly urbanised central zone, stretching from Łask all the way to Rawa Mazowiecka, and in the area of Wieruszów and Pajęczno. The greatest concentrations of millionaires are in the area of Łódź and Pabianice. Smaller concentrations are found in the area of Piotrków Trybunalski, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Radomsko, Skierniewice, Zgierz, Wieruszów and Sieradz.

Zagadnienie to poprzedzono charakterystyką rozmieszczenia i gęstości działek. Cel pracy stanowi identyfikacja ukształtowanego w warunkach rynkowych stopnia zróżnicowania struktury przestrzennej działek według ich wielkości i kształtu przy użyciu narzędzi GIS.
Identification at using tools GIS of the degree formed in market conditions of diversifying the spatial structure of ground plots according to their size and of the shape constituted the purpose of this work. At the beginning of 2013 the area of Łódź was divided in 133 547 of plots. As results of conducted examinations were established that spatial schedule of plots was characterized by a great changeability. The density of plots in geodetic units is a consequence of spatial diversifying the number of plots, growing generally in centripetal direction. Average area of plots in geodetic units of Łódź, made conditional among others on location them and conditions of the parceling out, extremely strongly is diversified. A vast area of the changeability of this area is connected with it (481‒98 199 m2 ). In the city a general tendency of the increase in the area of plots in centrifugal direction is seen, though the smallest plots don't focus in very central areas, only in their north and south surroundings which is rewarded all at the same time with the very large number of plots. From a point of view of organizations of the municipal space of Łódź numerous very small ground plots which it is hard rationally to develop or to sell constitute the peculiar problem. In individual spatial units also developing the biggest ground plots can be a substantial problem. Peculiarly the high level of the changeability of the area of plots characterizes the geodetic units located in the indirect zone, and to a lesser degree in the zone of peripheral Łódź. Examining the shape of plots in geodetic units was based on two rates. First from them determines diversifying of the shapes of plots, however second expresses the step, in which the real shape of plots differs from the circle. The distribution of the value of the indicator of diversifying the shape of plots in spatial units is almost perfectly symmetrical, about the average dispersion and strong kurtosis. This distribution in great measure becomes a distribution of the number of plots like and depends on the density as well as size of plots. Diversifying the shapes of plots, being ahead of an average level in the city, appears mainly in the geodetic units in the central and indirect zone. Peripheral agricultural areas, locate above all in the eastern part of the city are characterized by little adding variety to this shape. Second from applied indicators of the shape of plots, depicting their cohesion he doesn't show the great diversity in the municipal space and won't depend on the density and size of plots. Above all locate plots in peripheral areas demonstrate the low cohesion, but also in the city centre zone. Plots located as a rule in the indirect zone have the shape most similar to the circle. Based on values of both considered rates of the shape of plots four distinguished types of spatial units stayed.

Opis:
Area occupied by housing estates on Teofilów and their spatial arrangement, as well as distribution and functioning of community shops are characterized by long and rich history which determined them. In case these housing estates, originating in the main measuring cup from years 60. of the 20th century, four-storey blocks predominate. A quite well-developed technical and social infrastructure also pays attention. At present c 39 thousand persons inhabit these housing estates. Community shops on Teofilów are distributed unevenly, similarly to the population of this part of the city. It is possible in addition to distinguish three types of the location of such retail outlets: 1) location on the area of great commercial-service complexes, 2) location in little concentrations of shops of different kind, 3) location of commercial objects in the form isolated. Many diverse factors influence the general and detailed localization of analyzed shops. Community shops on Teofilów, of which specific provisions of law govern functioning, aren't homogeneous. The typical length of the period of conducting activity by them is 12 years. It establishes that they came into existence mainly in the period of the transformation. We observed in addition that founded shops differently were distributed in different periods. On entire Teofilów dominate little community shops belonging to natural persons, more strongly dispersed from remaining shops. In the community shop only three persons most often work. Explored commercial points specialize mainly in the sale of diverse products food, selected appropriately to needs of customers. Shaping the assortment in that kind of shops depends on their size, form of the sale, structure of customers, surrounding and the like Field examinations demonstrated considerable diversifying this assortment, in addition in all shops such products were sold, like eggs and dairy products, cereal articles, the canailles, cakes and cookies, drinks, juices and mineral waters, coffees and teas. Some articles are deposited in closely determined places of individual shops. One should also mark, that community shops, competing with large-surface shops, mainly are opened in working days as far as by 14 hours. However the majority of these shops don’t work on Sundays. Demographic-social structure of polled customers of community shops Teofilów has a number of peculiar properties. One should here exchange numerical superiority of women, co-dominance of persons in an working and post-working age and building households single and consisting of two persons, relative numerical superiority of persons with the secondary school secondary education, co-dominance the keeping oneself from the retirement pension and the paid work, average financial status of the majority of respondents. Purchase behaviours of examined customers diversify depending on the outline of the given shop. However in all community shops such food products are often bought, like the bread (60% of customers), eggs and dairy products (50%), vegetables and fruits, but rarely – cigarettes and alcohol and chemical articles. Too most typical it is possible to regard customers which independently to community shops most often go to the shopping three times during the week, in addition the time of lasting the shopping is included in a period from 11 up to 20 minutes, and disposable expenses associated with them amount to 20–40 PLN. A tendency of concentrating places of residence of customers of considered community shops in the vicinity of big commercial-service complexes pays attention. These shops differ in the number of customers what the strong competition exerts influence in this group of retail outlets on and spatial structure of the population. Amongst respondents dominate (54%) customers committing the shopping in two community shops located closest their places of residence usually. Most important motives for choice of preferred shop turned out to be his convenient location towards a place of residence of the customer and a large range of offered goods. The average time of the approach for the preferred shop achieves only 11 minutes. Taking into consideration the greatest frequency of using by respondents retail outlets of different kind, it is possible to notice that community shops positioned themselves on the second place, while small marketplaces and markets filled the leading position. Conducted examinations also showed that opinions of customers about functioning of community shops were ambiguous. The majority of respondents recognized the number, as well as the localization of these shops too proper towards needs of residents. Community shops in the opinion of customers have both a lot of virtues, and defects in addition. The most customers ranked the closeness of a place of residence and the short time of making purchases among main advantages of these shops. Of shops meanwhile for most important, almost equivalent defects discussed respondents mainly recognized the lack of the promotion and ceiling prices. Out of six compared dimensions of functioning of community shops beneficial evaluations (averages) made by customers qualities concern service, keeping the purity, the appearance of the shop (taking care) and qualities of products. Next, negative assessments of respondents refer up to prices and diversifying the assortment. Presented research findings indicate, that for further functioning of existing community shops above all large-surface shops constitute a considerable risk. Also a competition increases from the side of small shops belonging to new networks, as well as the Internet trade. Therefore the role of community shops in the everyday shopping of food products can significantly reduce. All the same thanks to their established virtues community shops have a raison d’être in the future. Presented research findings indicate, that for existing community shops above all large- surface shops, as well as an Internet trade constitute the strong competition. Negatively an expansion of discount shops only recently affected the development of inspected community shops. At present network small shops more and more often enter areas of analysed housing estates. It is possible to suppose in the nearest years shops of the type convenience will also be a most quickly developing section of the retail community trade. At the moment community shops constituting the property of natural persons were in particularly a difficult situation. Creating purchase largest groups, the far-reaching specialization and forming a union in the web are a chance of surviving them. At the same time increasing the profitability of these retail outlets is necessary.

Spatial dimension of dwelling house, and the same his shape and the size, were subject to dynamic changes in the time under the influence of the development of techniques and building technologies and individual and social evolution of needs. A transition from the primitive refuge in prehistorically times to modern luxury villa and apartments attests to the huge scale of transformations of the residential building. In our times a dream of writers and researchers about the glassy houses was fulfilled. In individual historical ages different standards of houses being subject to a spatial diffusion rose from parent regions at first to neighboring and then more distant. Some elements of architecture and functions of dwelling houses originating from earlier periods were inherited through newer buildings, in addition at the same time a development of building techniques took place and all at the same time housing architecture evolved. In every historical period houses of the different size and distinctive features were erected, but a symbol of the present became residential high-rises. In determined historical periods it is possible to find examples of traditional houses and buildings which in contemporary conditions it is possible to recognize from modern. Starting from the 19th century completely new structures, techniques and building materials were entered into construction of dwelling houses. All at the same time internal functional divisions of flats and their comfort were made rich. In the period of the Modern Style exceptionally original, fabulously colorful, about diversified shapes with flower and plant details built dwelling houses Antonio Gaudi. For their construction he applied stones and brick, with the addition of ceramics. A functional concept of the altitude housing industry of Ch.E. Le Corbusier and the organic concept F.L. Wright of detached houses united with natural surroundings exerted the peculiarly strong influence on modern housing architecture. In contemporary times of the on the basis of different theories of architecture, referring to the concept balanced development, in shaping the housing environment more and more implemented successively innovative ideas of the ecological, energy-efficient, passive and “intelligent” house play the greater role.
