- There are various forms of timber sales in the State Forests: auctions, tenders, submission, commission, negotiation, retail, and free−hand. In response to the steadily growing market demand for high quality wood, regular submission sales of valuable timber was launched in Krosno Regional Directorate of the State Forests (RDLP) in 2000. A favourable situation on the timber market at that time contributed to the sale of all offered timber. Since then, an increasing interest in veneer wood, especially of beech, has been observed among companies both in Poland and abroad. The paper presents the results and evaluation of submission sales as a form of valuable timber trade in the years 2000−2009. It also provides an analysis of the revenues obtained from the submission sales compared to the total sale of timber in the territory of Krosno RDLP in individual years. The presented specification from the last decade confirms the right choice of this form of sale in the Krosno RDLP. Thanks to the submission sales, the timber from the Podkarpacie region is highly appreciated in the European and world markets.
