- Conducting Information Operations, thanks to technological advances and widespread access to the internet and social networks, has become an important element in influencing the opinion of citizens and the government of one’s own country, as well as of third countries. The saturation of modern media with often unverified news has created spaces for the manipulation of readers with, for example, tricky headlines or the creation of an alternative reality by invoking theoretically unquestionable authorities. Such information activities are constantly carried out by all countries, and the article cites selected examples from recent history, such as the policy towards the COVID-19 epidemic, the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border and the conflict in Ukraine, and presents challenges and recommendations for the application of effective information activities.
