- The present article has been devoted to seven old defunct towns, located in the middle Warta and lower Wełna basin. The so-called unsuccessful locations (Sławkowo-Parkowo), defunct towns (Głęboczek, Dzwonowo) and towns abolished by governmental authorities in 1795–1797 and in 1934 (Ryczywół, Obrzycko, Budzyń, Stobnica) were identified among these towns. From among the mentioned towns only Obrzycko regained its town rights on 1st January 1990. The socio-economic, demographic and territorial situation of Ryczywół indicates that this centre may also regain town rights within several coming years. For the same reasons Budzyń may also regain the status of a town in the future. Only Stobnica will rather remain a village in character. The relics of the old town plan have not been preserved in the described localities till the present days. The only exceptions are: Ryczywół, Obrzycko, Budzyń and Stobnica. Due to aerial photography, the reconstruction of the oldest town plan of Dzwonowo was possible. In order to explain a great number of unclear research problems, all the towns should undergo further more thorough source studies and invasive archaeological research — mainly in: Sławkowo-Parkowo, Głęboczek, Dzwonowo and Stobnica. In the course of the successive historic-archaeological research the subsequent lost towns may be found — in particular on the former Castellan territories of Ostrów (Lednica) and Rogoźno.
