Pressler drill - Opis:
- The work assesses the reliability and usefulness of the age table developed in the 1980s by Longin Majdecki. The table is commonly used by landscape architects in studies regarding the revalorisation of historic parks. In the first part, the ages of two linden species (Tilia cordata and T. platyphyllos ) were assessed using a resistograph and compared with data from Majdecki's table. Age curves were used for comparison. In the second part, the ages of silver birch (Betula pendula) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) were compared with the results obtained from the table using a resistograph and an increment borer. It was found that for the purposes of park revalorisation, Majdecki's table is undoubtedly useful, although its limitations stem from the high variability of radial increments among individual trees.
