- The paper deals with describing the current state of volunteering in Slovakia in the care of terminally ill patients dying in conditions of hospice and hospital, it characterized by respect associated with volunteering in the context of social work. Brings knowledge of environment volunteering in practice, which greatly contributes to the improvement of care and improve quality of life of this target group, which according to several sources is as one of the most difficult. Volunteering in Slovakia is still being developed, and through voluntary associations devoted to the terminally ill and dying has become one of the indispensable forms of assistance to a person in need.
