Opis:: The paper presents the theoretical and technological aspects of forming magnesium alloy parts for aircraft and automotive applications. The main applications of magnesium alloys in the aircraft and automotive industries are discussed. In addition, the forging technology for magnesium alloys is generally described, with a particular emphasis on wrought alloys. A brief outline of the state of the art in the forging of magnesium alloys is given based on a survey of the specialist literature and the results of previous research by the authors.

Opis:: The paper assesses the tribological properties of hardfacing coatings produced by gas metal arc welding. Flux-cored wires were used as a welding material. The core mixture was based on the Fe Mn-C-B-Si-Ni-Cr alloy. Seven types of flux-cored wires with different compositions were prepared. The flux-cored wires had a diameter of 2.4 mm. The tribological assessment was performer with an Amsler tribotester under dry friction conditions at different unit pressures: 3, 7, and 10 MPa. The results demonstrate that the coating L-6 has good tribological properties. The overlay weld had a hardness of 49 HRC. Following friction testing, the coatings were also examined with respect to their microhardness and microstructure.
Praca przedstawia badania właściwości tribologicznych powłok otrzymanych metodą napawania łukowego w osłonie gazowej GMA. Jako materiał spawalniczy wykorzystano druty proszkowe (rdzeniowe). Mieszankę rdzeniową wykonano na podstawie stopu Fe-Mn-C-B-Si-Ni-Cr. Opracowano siedem rodzajów drutów proszkowych o różnych składach. Średnica drutów proszkowych wynosiła 2,4 mm. Badania tribologiczne przeprowadzono na tribotesterze Amslera w warunkach tarcia suchego przy różnych naciskach jednostkowych 3, 7 i 10 MPa. Wykazały one, że dobrymi właściwościami tribologicznymi cechowała się powłoka L-6 o twardości napoiny 49 HRC. Powłoki po tarciu poddano również badaniom mikrotwardości oraz mikrostrukturalnym.

Opis:: Computer animation has a positive effect on memorizing knowledge by students. Used in the process of teaching of technical subjects, it is conductive to the development of mind. Animation allows to familiarize the students with the schemes of solving technical problems and shows the mode of operation of machinery and equipment. In the technique, animations are used, inter alia, in the processes of designing, engineering calculations, visualisation and monitoring technological processes and visualisation of assembly processes. The article discusses the role of computer animation in the teaching process and the examples of applications using computer animation and supporting the teaching process of technical subjects. Selected examples of technical processes in both computer-aided design and manufacturing programs as well as in graphics and animation programs are presented.

Opis:: In the present study we introduced a two-dimensional electrophoresis and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation time of flight mass spectrometry-based proteomic workflow to identify proteins that show altered expression as a result of the addition of 2% of water extract of inulin-type fructans to the diet of growing piglets. This analysis allowed us to detect an average of 240 spots per gel with a mass range from 10 to 250 kDa and a pH ranging from 3 to 10. Twenty protein spots were found to show statistically significant differences in their expression. Of these, 7 protein spots were up-regulated, whereas 13 showed down-regulation in response to the experimental diet. In total, 13 spots were identified, representing 8 distinct gene products. The experimental diet caused a significant change in proteins directly or indirectly involved in hemostasis and the innate immune response. Increased levels of fibrinogen along with decreased plasminogen expression may indicate that a fructan-rich diet favours the deposits of fibrin and promotes blood clotting. We also found increased expression of vitronectin and the alpha subunit of the complement component C8 which may protect the host organism against excessive cytolitic activity of the activated complement. The piglets from the experimental group had slightly increased values of IgG and IgA, whereas the IgM level tended to be decreased. The fructan-rich diet did not have any influence on plasma total cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
