The canonical adagium: „Bonum animarum suprema lex” - is expressed distinctively m the issues of residence sketched in the Code. The residence is an obligation of ermanent staying in the place of performing of the ministry. The Church always emphasised the necessity of residence. The notion of residence as it is stated in the Code of John Paul II was showed m the first part of this article. Then, the problems concerning persons having the obligation of esidence were considered. At last we discussed the question of neglecting of esidence. It seems that presented regulations relevant to necessity of residence of clergymen should help to exhibit the care of Church for salvation of souls more competently and fully.

Church archives are both ecclesiastical goods as well as cultural assets, and as such they are to be properly protected and valuated respecting the canon norms. This is why ecclesiastical institutions have long maintained various archives, and the Church authorities enacted necessary legislation. Accordingly, there is a universal obligation to establish and maintain archives in Church institutions. The presented article first deals with Church archives as envisaged by former canon law, and then the notion and types of Church archives. Next, the Author presents the duty to establish an archive. More space is devoted to the question of a diocesan archive, as well as other types of archives in the Church. Apart from the norms of universal law, the question of establishment, management, and maintenance of Church archives is to be regulated by particular law.

Maintenance and storage of books in the bishop's curia constitute an important part of church administration. This article addresses the canonical aspect of such books.First, the provisions of the Code on the need to maintain specific registers in the curia were first introduced. Second, the books necessary for the proper management of the diocese in the curia are presented.Next, the books for the registration of certain facts of legal importance are discussed. Finally, the focus has been put on the books in force under the specific law.

The necessity of maintaining and storing parish registers is an important part of church administration. This article addresses a canonical aspect of such registers. First the regulations regarding the necessity to maintain parish registers have been discussed. Second different types of such registers which have to be maintained based on universal and particular law have been addressed. Next the issue of persons responsible for maintaining the parish registers has been explored. Finally the focal point was the issue of the storage of parish registers.

The aim of the article is to present chaplaincy in the light of canon law. The first part depicts the concept of a chaplain. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie zagadnienia urzędu kapelana w aspekcie prawa kanonicznego. W jego pierwszej części przedstawiono kwestię pojęcia kapelana. W drugiej części ukazano uprawnienia i obowiązki kapelana, natomiast część trzecia została poświęcona zagadnieniu usunięcia kapelana. Całość artykułu kończy podsumowanie i bibliografia.

The purpose of the article is to examine the issue of the appointment to the post of a vicar forane and the loss of the office. The first part of the paper discusses the post of a vicar forane in general terms. The second one outlines the required qualifications of a candidate for the office of a vicar forane, whereas the third one concerns the induction to the post of a vicar forane. The fourth part describes the issue of losing the office of an outside vicar.
Celem artykułu jest ukazanie zagadnienia powierzenia i utraty urzędu dziekana. W jego pierwszej części przedstawiono kwestię urzędu dziekana w ogólności. W drugiej części wskazano kwalifikacje kandydata na urząd dziekana, natomiast część trzecia została poświęcona powierzeniu urzędu dziekańskiego. Część czwarta omawia utratę urzędu wikariusza zewnętrznego.

La Chiesa ha ricevuto da Cristo la missione di insegnare la sua dottrina a tutte le nazioni. Oggi possiamo avvalerci del’impiego dei mezzi di comunicazione sociale, tra quali, la radio e la televisione sono quelli che hanno la maggior influenza sull’uomo. In base a questo, la Chiesa, oggi, utilizza questi mezzi nella sua missione di evangelizzazione. Nell’articolo si mostrano prima le competenze dei vescovi nella questione della partecipazione a trasmissioni televisive e radiofoniche di chierici e religiosi per la divulgazione dell’insegnamento cristiano attraverso questi mezzi, conferite loro dal Codice del 1983. Successivamente, si sofferma sui compiti dei vescovi polacchi in riferimento ai permessi concessi ai chierici, religiosi e laici, sulla questione della partecipazione in programmi radio-televisivi.

People who suffer from coeliac disease cannot receive Holy Communion under the species of bread.The article starts with explaining the characteristics and phenomenon of coeliac disease. Then it discusses the possibility of receiving Holy Communion by people with the condition. Pope John Paul II repeated many times that ecclesiastical discipline concerning celibacy of clergymen in the Latin Church should be maintained. The person taking the holy orders and committing himself to keeping celibacy expresses his complete readiness to perform the ministry proper to the clergy, his readiness to embrace every man with his pastoral love, to devote all his life to salvation of other people and to devote his whole heart to God. Celibacy in many respects suits priesthood, although Christ did not make a necessary connection between them. In the first part of the article we show the reality of celibacy of clergymen, and its effects according to John Paul II's Code. Then we concentrate on the issues of sanctions for violations of the law of celibacy. Finally, the question of exemption from the obligation of celibacy is considered. It seems that the presented regulations relevant to celibacy of clergymen should help to see the gift of celibacy competently and fully.

Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony został organizacji katechezy w diecezji. Najpierw zaprezentowano urząd biskupa diecezjalnego, który jest pierwszym katechetą i organizuje nauczanie w swojej diecezji. Następnie ukazano kurię diecezjalną jako narzędzie świadczące pomoc biskupowi diecezjalnemu w organizowaniu katechezy. Szczególnie wyeksponowano rolę wydziału katechetycznego, który winien być powołany w każdej diecezji. Końcowa część przedłożenia traktuje o organizacji kształcenia katechetó;w.
The following article is devoted to the organisation of cathesis in the diocese. Firstly, the diocesan Bishop's office is presented, who is the first catechist and is the person who organises teaching in his diocese. Next, the diocesan curia is discussed, which is the tool for helping the diocesan Bishop in organising the catechesis. The Catechetical Office, which should be set up in every diecese, is particularly emphasised. The final part of the submission is connected with the organisation of the catechists' education.

The purpose of the article is to present the issue of the use by the episcopal conferences of optional norms of the Code of Canon Law in the scope of the munus docendi of the Church. The Code obliges or enables episcopal conferences to issue norms complementary to the Code of Canon Law, among others regarding the teaching office of the Church. In three cases, the Code provides for the issuance of possible arrangements for an episcopal conference regarding the munus docendi of the Church (canon 755 § 2, 766, 804 § 1). The author presented and evaluated the provisions of selected episcopal conferences in the field of the teaching office of the Church. The whole article concludes with a summary and bibliography.
