    Opis:
    The identity development takes place during the process of integrating the past to the presence with anticipated future. Additionally, it occurs in ecological context which concerns relations and interactions at the individual, group and institutional levels, as well as changes related to the revitalization of regional cultures, the integration of states into transnational structures or the progressive processes of globalization. In the paper, the Authors mostly pay attention to ecological determinants that influence the process of identity development, which takes place in multicultural environment. The purpose of the paper is to present a new theoretical approach – Theory of Multidimensional Identity (TMI) by Jerzy Nikitorowicz. It is based on the fact that a child is located in a diverse cultural environment under the influence of traditional multiculturalism, having existed for several generations, for example, on the borderland. During different stages of identity development (from the past to the future), three groups of dimensions have been distinguished: dimensions in the context of inherited (given, taken over) identity; dimensions in the context of individually shaped and realised identity and dimensions which are socially determined. This theoretical approach allows for the analysis of dependence and relations between the different stages and dimensions of identity development. It highlights with which stages those three dimensions form the identity system, how it changes, what are the reasons for those changes and modifications.

    Opis:
    The article is aimed at analyzing the identifications of academic youth, with pedagogy students as an example, on the basis of the assumptions of Uri Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model. Particular importance was given to the socioecological and contextual determinants in which the sense of identity of emerging adults is formed. The aim of the research was to analyse the development of the sense of identity resulting from participation in the socio-cultural conditions surrounding the individual. The surveyed emerging adults (140 individuals) aged 20–25 answered the question “Who am I?” using the TST (Twenty Statement Test) by M.H. Kuhn and T.S. McPartland (1954). The research was a pilot study. The collected research material was developed using a holistic content analysis of self-definitions. On the basis of the research results, it can be concluded that the surveyed emerging adults most often use identifications related to the individual with respect to gender, possessed personality traits or to the defining oneself as a human being. In addition, there were categories of sense of identity resulting from social roles in the microsystem (a family member, a student or an employee). Less frequently, respondents identified themselves with their nation or religion, which are the result of macrosystem participation. In relation to this, educational and preventive premises were formulated.
    W artykule przeanalizowano identyfikacje młodzieży akademickiej na przykładzie studentów pedagogiki, w oparciu o założenia modelu ekologicznego Uriego Bronfenbrennera. Szczególne znaczenie nadano socjoekologicznym i kontekstowym determinantom kształtującego się poczucia tożsamości pokolenia będącego w okresie wyłaniającej się dorosłości. Celem badań była analiza rozwoju poczucia tożsamości jednostki wynikająca z partycypacji w otaczających warunkach społeczno-kulturowych. Badana młodzież akademicka (140 osób) w wieku 20–25 lat udzielała odpowiedzi na pytanie Kim jestem? przy użyciu TST (Twenty Statement Test) autorstwa M.H. Kuhna i T.S. McPartlanda (1954). Badania miały charakter pilotażowy. Zebrany materiał badawczy został opracowany przy pomocy całościowej treściowej analizy autodefinicji. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników badań można zauważyć, że badana młodzież w okresie wyłaniającej się dorosłości najczęściej posługuje się identyfikacjami dotyczącymi jednostki z uwzględnieniem płci, posiadanych cech charakteru czy też określenia siebie jako człowieka. Ponadto pojawiały się kategorie poczucia tożsamości wynikające z pełnionych w mikrosystemie ról społecznych, przykładowo bycie członkiem rodziny, studentem czy też pracownikiem. Stosunkowo rzadziej respondenci identyfikowali się z narodem czy też wyznawaną religią, stanowiącymi rezultat partycypacji makro-systemowych. W odniesieniu do uzyskanych wyników badań sformułowano przesłanki o charakterze edukacyjnym i profilaktycznym.
