Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości takiego przetwarzania zmieszanych odpadów komunalnych, aby w jak największym stopniu zmniejszyć ich ilość i szkodliwość, a proces taki był technologicznie uzasadniony.
Waste management has become one of the main problems in the management of the environment in recent years. Many years of neglect and implementation of the provisions of the European Union have caused the need for urgent changes in this sector. Applied modifications of the law in relation to the existing provisions require continuous monitoring of technological parameters of waste, in terms of their suitability for different processes like recovery, recycling or disposal. The application of these processes may change the humidity and calorific value, and hence build up the difficulty in successive sequences waste treatment, and thus adaptation of the system to the binding legislation. The purpose of the article was to present the ways of waste treatment in such a way which would reduce as much as possible their amount and harmfulness, and that the technological process to be viable, and the waste management system in accordance with the binding law.

Opis:
A principle of extended producer’s responsibility in the law of waste management pursues the following aims of the waste management: 1) the maximum decrease in the amount of waste in any type of business and human existence, 2) the immediate reuse of production waste in a manufacturing process, 3) recovery of raw materials from collected waste, 4) application of processes to dispose of waste, 5) orderly waste storage ensuring the least damage to the environment. The overriding objective of this principle is application of legal instruments encouraging producers to undertake activities which will: prevent production of waste, decrease the level of using materials and energy at every stage of a product life cycle and encourage to introduce changes in the phase of a product design and during its manufacture. Broadly speaking, a principle of extended producer’s responsibility is connected with a producer’s financial liability for a product. In a legal structure of the extended producer’s responsibility we deal with preventive liability. This principle completes a principle of incurring costs of waste management.

Collection, disposal and management of plastic waste and polythene bags is a grow ing problem in Nigeria. The use of plastic/polythene bags made of thin plastic film has increased significantly in recent years. The manner of disposal of these items has resulted in the degradation of the natural environment. In Nigeria, lots of plastics are used on daily basis, of which most, if not all of them, are not properly disposed of. Some of these items end up in landfills, littering the environment, harming wildlife or blocking drainages, therefore, increasing the risk of flood. This paper examines the existing laws in relation to waste management in Nigeria and the inadequacies of the existing legislation in combating this phenomenon. The doctrinal method of research was used and it is recommended that there is a need for new legislation to be enacted for Nigeria to surmount the menace of plastic pollution.

W systemie uwzględniono wyniki wcześniej przeprowadzonych badań i analiz.
Information systems as models for environmental management, or its component parts, have evolved due to the increasing demand for information about the environment and its protection against threats. This article attempts to develop a prototype system, assisting the management of municipal waste in the municipality of valuable natural areas. The system takes into account the results of previously conducted research and analysis.

Problem odpadów stanowi podstawowy element ochrony środowiska naturalnego przed skutkami ich ujemnego oddziaływania, a także powstawania. Przedmioty lub substancje określone jako „odpady” podlegają kontroli wspólnotowego prawodawstwa, którego celem jest ochrona zdrowia ludzkiego i środowiska . Obszary wiejskie zajmują w Polsce 93% powierzchni są specyficznym miejscem rozproszonego powstawania odpadów. Jednym z wielu odpadów powstających na tych obszarach są odpady z produkcji zwierzęcej. W artykule omówiono syntetycznie sposób zbierania w/w. odpadów w dwóch specjalistycznych punktach, a następnie sposób ich utylizacji termicznej. Wskazano również na możliwości przekształcania termicznego innych odpadów, np. osadów ściekowych.
Waste problem as a fundamental component of the natural environmental protection is arise from their contaminated impacts, as well their increasing. Objects or substances defined as waste are under strict control of the European law which main purpose is health and environmental protection. The rural areas covering 93% of Poland are specific places for dispersed waste arising. Among many different sort of waste in these areas we must especially distinguish animal waste. In this paper the method of gathering of waste in two specific places and next the method their thermal utilization is described. Also possibility of thermal utilization other waste, for example, sludge waste is recommended.

Energy production and storage has become a pressing issue in recent decades and its solutions bring new problems. This paper reviews the literature on the human and environmental risks associated with the production, use, and disposal of increasingly common lithium-ion batteries. Popular electronic databases were used for this purpose focused on the period since 2000. Assessment of the toxicological and environmental impact of batteries should then have a holistic scope to precede and guide the introduction of appropriate safety measures. In this short review the authors will try to touch upon this complex subject and point out some important issues related to an unprecedented development of lithium ion batteries-powered world. Given the multi-billion dollar business with the risks associated with the development of new technologies requires careful consideration of whether the balance of profits and losses is beneficial to humans and the planet. Wraz ze wzrostem poziomu życia, narastającym problemem stają się odpady powstające w wyniku działalności przemysłowej i bytowej człowieka. Celem nadrzędnym państwa w zakresie gospodarowania odpadami jest zapobieganie powstawaniu odpadów, odzyskiwanie surowców, ich ponowne wykorzystanie oraz bezpieczne dla środowiska unieszkodliwianie. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na prawodawstwo Polskie i Unijne związane z gospodarką odpadami. Scharakteryzowano strukturę wytwarzania odpadów niebezpiecznych z grupy 16 06 na podstawie województwa małopolskiego. Przeanalizowano skład chemiczny oraz własności fizykochemiczne, które determinują o sposobie unieszkodliwiania baterii i akumulatorów.
The standard of living is growing in the last years. Because of that a number of manufactured wastes are rising. The superior aim of the politics of waste management is preventing rising of wastes, using and environment-friendly storing. The structure of hazardous wastes becoming from group 16 06 in the Malopolska province. Paper refers to the Polish and EU legislation of waste management. The article analyzed the chemical composition and chemical and physical properties determining the way of recycling of accumulators and batteries.

In this paper the current problems of local municipal management have been presented. The influence of the system incorporation into the environment was presented on the example of town and community of Pobiedziska. The departments responsible for the environment condition control waste management and sewage treatment. During the research, a great number of environmental problems have been noted. Among many, there were illegal dump areas and inappropriate sewage disposal. The questionnaires conducted among the local community revealed low level of ecological awareness. The results of this paper prove the negative trends in the researched departments of local management, which commonly appear in the majority of Polish communities.
W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono aktualne problemy gospodarki komunalnej. Przedstawiony został wpływ jej realizacji na lokalne środowisko przyrodnicze na przykładzie miasta i gminy Pobiedziska. Działy gospodarki komunalnej, które mają największy wpływ na stan środowiska przyrodniczego dotyczą gospodarki odpadami oraz gospodarki ściekowej. W ramach badań stwierdzono szereg problemów środowiskowych (m.in. liczne „dzikie” wysypiska odpadów oraz nielegalne odprowadzanie ścieków do środowiska). Badania ankietowe wykazały niską świadomość ekologiczną społeczności lokalnej. Wyniki niniejszej pracy potwierdzają negatywne tendencje w analizowanych działach gospodarki komunalnej, które powszechnie występują w większości gmin w Polsce.

Każda działalność człowieka generuje powstawanie odpadów. W ostatnich dekadach ilość odpadów zaczęła się znacząco zwiększać, jednocześnie zagrażając ludziom i środowisku ze względu na zawartość substancji szkodliwych, taki jak plastik, metale ciężkie i groźne dla środowiska substancje chemiczne. Prowadzona obecnie polityka gospodarki odpadami zobowiązuje do eliminacji tych substancji ze składowisk, ogólnego zmniejszenia ilości odpadów deponowanych na składowiskach oraz zwiększenia frakcji odzyskiwanych do wtórnego wykorzystania. Działania tego typu powodują, że już na etapie gospodarstw domowych odpady powinny być segregowane na co najmniej cztery frakcje. W celu określenia wpływu gospodarki odpadami na zagospodarowanie najbliższego otoczenia człowieka, czyli gospodarstwa domowego, niezbędne jest przeanalizowanie systemu gospodarki odpadami na poszczególnych szczeblach powstawania odpadów, ich gromadzenia i segregacji - do momentu przekazania ich do dalszej obróbki, utylizacji lub składowania. W niniejszym artykule starano się przedstawić możliwości nowych rozwiązań, pozwalających na takie gospodarowanie przestrzenią w miejscu zamieszkania, aby ograniczać miejsce zajmowane przez odpady.
Every human activity generates waste. In recent decades, the amount of waste started to significantly increase at the same time threatening people and the environment due to the content of harmful substances such as plastics, heavy metals and dangerous chemicals. The current waste management policy requires elimination of these substances from landfills, reducing the overall amount of waste deposited in landfills and increase in the fraction recovered for recycling. At the level of household waste should be segregated, at least into four fractions. In order to determine the impact of waste management for the development of man's closest environment, ie household, it is necessary to analyze the waste management system at various levels resulting from the waste collection and segregation until their transfer to further treatment, disposal or landfilling. This article seeks to provide propositions for new solutions to such management of space at home to reduce the space occupied by the waste.

Unpleasant odours that are by-products of numerous industrial plants affect the majority of Polish people. However, to date no regulations have been introduced aimed to protect people against the effects of odours and to regulate the basis for and the scope of responsibility of those who emit them. Moreover, adoption of appropriate regulations is very important because the volume of waste that should necessarily be recycled has not been decreasing. This is also related to the need for establishing waste management plants whose activity, due to, among others, the odours they produce, may lead to social conflicts. The article attempts to analyse the binding regulations on the problems related to odours, on the basis of waste management, and to present the constitutional aspects with regard to this issue.

The aim of the paragraph was to study young people's awareness on waste management; their attitude towards the amendment of statute on cleanliness and order in municipalities which is coming into effect now; and people's attitude towards waste segregation. The analysis showed that young people do not have sufficient knowledge about waste segregation in their own area, neither about the waste processing machines. They have not acquired enough knowledge about current alteration in this topic as well. However, young people still try to protect environment and have positive attitude towards the issue of waste segregation.
Celem artykułu było zbadanie świadomości młodych ludzi na temat gospodarki odpadami, ich wiedzy o wchodzącej w życie nowelizacji ustawy o utrzymaniu czystości i porządku w gminach, a także ich stosunku do segregacji odpadów. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że młodzi ludzie nie posiadają wystarczającej wiedzy na temat zarówno procesu segregacji odpadów w ich regionie, jak i znajdujących się w pobliżu instalacji do ich przetwarzania, a wiedza dotycząca nadchodzących zmian jest znikoma. Pomimo tego starają się oni dbać o środowisko i pozytywnie podchodzą do tematu segregacji odpadów.
