Opis:: This paper describes the reforms of American religious sisters started byPius XII until the recent closure of Archbishop Peter Sartain’s commission.The paper shows how the reforms of congregations were taken up beforeand after the Council and how the two organisations representing Americansisters were founded. The continual dissent of LCWR from Churchteachings is shown in contrast to the fidelity of the alternative canonicalorganization, namely CMSWR. The lack of new vocations among LCWRsisters is a sign of mistaken reforms and the lack of attractive power intheir political agenda.

Opis:: The term feminine genius denotes a special intuition and sensitivity of a woman that helps her not only ascertain the needs of others but also empathize with the human condition in a way characteristic only of women. The article attempts to answer questions concerning the feminine genius, such as the following: What is spiritual motherhood? What is spiritual companionship? How can women express the qualities of companionship and motherhood in and out of their homes? What kind of obstacles do women need to root out of their hearts to build loving relationships? And, How does emotional formation prepare women for their vocation? The answers are sought from Edith Stein’s perspective, i.e. by drawing from the usage of phenomenology and Thomism adopted in her book, Essays on Women.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest ukazanie Trójjedynego Boga jako źródła życia konsekrowanego. Powołanie do życia konsekrowanego rodzi się z wolnej inicjatywy Boga. Śluby zakonne, będąc darem Trójcy Przenajświętszej, stanowią odzwierciedlenie tej formy życia, którą przyjął Syn Boży, posłany przez Ojca w Duchu Świętym. Trynitarne źródło życia zakonnego jest widoczne na różnych poziomach: na poziomie powołania, poziomie instytutów oraz poszczególnych wspólnot. Artykuł porusza również zagadnienie świadectwa osób konsekrowanych oraz wymiaru profetycznego życia zakonnego.
The purpose of this article is to show the Triune God as a source of a consecrated life. The vocation to the consecrated life is being born of free God’s initiative. The religious vows, as the Holy Trinity’s gift, are reflections of that way of life, which God’s Son accepted, who was sent by Father in Holy Spirit. Trinitarian source of consecrated life is seen in various aspects: the aspect of vocation, the aspect of institutes and the aspect of communities. The author of the article also raises the topic of the testimony of consecrated people and prophetic aspect of consecrated life.

Opis:: Współcześnie szybko rozwija się technika, informatyka i medycyna. Z tych osiągnięć ludzkość może być dumna! Jednak cała humanistyka pogrążyła się w głębokim kryzysie, tak że mówi się o kryzysie filozofii, teologii, etyki i literatury. Rodzi to z kolei kryzys powołań, który w Polsce i Europie jest sprawą powszechnie znaną. Zamykane są seminaria duchowne i klasztory, a małżeństwa często rozpadają się. Autor artykułu stawia tezę – którą następnie rozwija i uzasadnia w dalszej części publikacji – że kryzys ten związany jest również z brakiem kardynalnej cnoty męstwa. Jej przejawem jest odwaga, która jest potrzebna do tego, aby wybrać powołanie, a następnie realizować je pomimo pojawiających się trudności. Obszernie omawiane jest powołanie do życia kapłańskiego, zakonnego, małżeńskiego i samotnego, które poświęcone jest Bogu i ludziom.
Today, technology, computer science and medicine are developing rapidly. Humanity can be proud of these achievements! However, the entire humanities have plunged into a deep crisis, so much so that there is talk of a crisis of philosophy, theology, ethics and literature. This, in turn, gives rise to a crisis of vocations, which is a well-known cause in Poland and Europe. Seminaries and monasteries are closing, and marriages often break up. The author of the article puts forward a thesis - which he then develops and justifies in the further part of the publication - that this crisis is also related to the lack of the cardinal virtue of fortitude. Its manifestation is the courage that is needed to choose a vocation and then pursue it despite the difficulties that arise. The vocation to the priestly, religious, married and single life, which is dedicated to God and people, is extensively discussed.

Opis:: This article aims at describing the reality where young Poles live and grow up, as well as their ways of coping with the challenges coming from both modern times and the changes in their own home country, Europe and the whole world. Generally speaking, we reflect upon the ways of leading the youth through adulthood. One opportunity is represented by the meetings organised by youth pastoral centres, managed by female and male congregations, as well as by Institutes of consecrated life. In this article, the results of the research carried out in 13 youth pastoral centres in the year 2007/2008 are presented. Just the variable related to the search for the meaning of life is dealt with in more detail, as soon as the very first existential questions arise, such as “Who am I?”, “Why am I living?”, “What is the sense of the things I do?”, “Where is my place in the world?” It is necessary to lead young people through this complex process of growing up, providing support, backing and presence. On the other hand, the following question arises: “to what extent can we intervene in the person’s development and in the shaping of their personality through contents and values, influencing their way of perceiving the world and themselves?” The analysis of this research can serve as a starting point in order to reflect on what is to be elaborated in detail, what is to be changed, what is to be highlighted, so that the meetings with the youth be more productive and the suggestions become a reference in the search for better solutions.

Opis:: Klementyna Staszczak – sister Maria Klara was born in Zdzarach in wlodzimierski county on November 6th 1905. In 1922 she joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Benedictine Missionaries. She took her initial vows of chastity on August 15, 1924 in Kowal and her everlasting vows on August 15, 1931 in Luck. From 1924 to 1943, from 1971 to 1986, and from 1989 to 1991 she lived in Ukraine. Sister Klara Staszczak particularly loved the region of Estern Boderlands to which she was wholeheartedly devoted. Her faith, life in her everyday prayer, as well as her commitment to overcoming the hardships required when walking according to the Gospel and God’s commandments, shaped her heroism in realization of the covenant’s consecration. Her ability to heroically overcome the difficulties arising on the way of the renewing of the Congregation on the Estern Boderlands, show how strongly sister Klara was unified with Christ. Thanks to her absolute devotion to Jesus as her Lord and Savior and her bona fide work, rooted in the spirit of the rules of St. Benedict, sister Klara was successful in initiating and developing the activity of the Congregation of the Sisters of Benedictine Missionaries in Ukraine. Her whole life was devoted to serve God, Church, Congregation, and to other men, especially those who were in most need of the Gospel care. She died on June 6th 1991 in Bar in Podole region and was buried there. To this day sisters in Ukraine are continuing the spiritual heritage of the Founding Mother, which sister Klara, after 60 years of nun’s absence, was able to re-establish in the Estern Boderlands region.
Klementyna Staszczak – s. Maria Klara urodziła się 6 listopada 1905 roku w Żdżarach w powiecie włodzimierskim. W 1922 roku wstąpiła do Zgromadzenia Sióstr Benedyktynek Misjonarek. Pierwsze śluby zakonne złożyła 15 sierpnia 1924 roku w Kowlu, śluby wieczyste – 15 sierpnia 1931 roku w Łucku. Na Ukrainie przebywała w latach 1924–1943; 1971–1986; 1989–1991. Siostra Klara Staszczak szczególnie umiłowała Kresy Wschodnie, którym oddała całe swe serce. Heroizm realizacji konsekracji zakonnej s. Klary ukształtowała wiara, przeżywana w codziennej modlitwie oraz podejmowanym trudzie kroczenia drogą przykazań i Ewangelii. Heroiczne wręcz pokonywanie trudności na drodze odnawiającego się zgromadzenia na Kresach Wschodnich pokazuje silne zjednoczenie s. Klary z Chrystusem. Dzięki całkowitemu oddaniu siebie Jezusowi jako Panu i Zbawicielowi oraz rzetelnej pracy w duchu Reguły św. Benedykta, s. Klarze udało się na nowo zaszczepić i rozwinąć działalność Zgromadzenia Sióstr Benedyktynek Misjonarek na Ukrainie. Całe jej życie było służbą Bogu, Kościołowi, zgromadzeniu i drugiemu człowiekowi, szczególnie temu najbardziej potrzebującemu ewangelicznej troski. Zmarła 19 czerwca 1991 roku w Barze na Podolu, tam też została pochowana. Do dnia dzisiejszego siostry na Ukrainie kontynuują spuściznę duchową matki założycielki, którą s. Klara po 60 latach nieobecności sióstr na Kresach Wschodnich zaszczepiła na nowo na tej ziemi.

Opis:: Z okazji 150. rocznicy święceń prezbiteratu o. Leona Dehona (1843-1925), artykuł podkreśla istotne punkty roli kapłaństwa w piśmiennictwie Dehona i jego charyzmatycznej realizacji w Zgromadzeniu, które założył. Określenie tego pojęcia przez poddanie go krytyce teologicznej uwidacznia pewne ograniczenia i rodzi pytanie, czy język kapłański używany przez Dehona odnosi się do wyjątkowej kontemplacji pełni misterium Jezusa Chrystusa, w której jako centralne ukazane jest wspólne kapłaństwo wiernych. Druga część artykułu analizuje konsekwencje dla tożsamości sercańskiej i przedstawia koncepcję „sercanina-kapłana” jako określenie, które najlepiej odzwierciedla to, co „proces charyzmatyczny” oferuje dzisiaj jako jedność powołania, tożsamości i przynależności.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Fr. León Dehon (1843-1925), this article highlights the relevant points of the role that the priesthood has in the written work of Dehon and in its charismatic fulfillment in the Congregation he founded. Determining the concept by subjecting it to theological criticism makes the limits of this approach evident, and raises the question whether the priestly language used by Dehon refers to a unique contemplation of the total mystery of Jesus Christ in which the common priesthood of the faithful is indicated as central. The second part examines the consequences for Dehonian identity and presents the concept of „Dehonian-priest” as the expression that best reflects what the „charismatic process” offers today as a unity of vocation, identity and belonging.
