    The author addresses cognitively important issues concerning values and activities conducive to their development in the family, which is the basic factor in shaping the personality of a child. We are living in the times of globalization, when the importance of family and values passed on by it are being underestimated in various ways. Globalization has caused an enormous confusion of values. The old, traditional values are often outdated, while the new, incomprehensible ones, interfere with the process of upbringing. Additionally, relativism dominating the society has become the basis for blurring the boundaries between what is moral and what is immoral. The aim of this article is to draw attention to the special role of values in the process of upbringing and to stimulate actions supporting the family through education and prevention. The above considerations lead to the conclusion that the family is an important value in the life of a child. It constitutes their most important environment for development and upbringing. Nevertheless, it requires help and support from the state. But above all, we cannot just be passive witnesses of our children’s development these days.

    Artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie dotyczące uwarunkowań wychowania do wartości. Na wstępie został omówiony proces wychowania do wartości. Mówiąc o wychowaniu do wartości należy zwrócić uwagę na rolę jaka odgrywają różne środowiska wychowawcze. Najważniejszym miejscem, gdzie kształtuje się hierarchia wartości dziecka jest jego rodzina. Następnie środowisko szkolne w sposób zamierzony i ukierunkowany wpływa na wartości ucznia. Nauczyciel przekazujący dzieciom w szkole określone wiadomości, jednocześnie wprowadza je w świat wartości. Grupa rówieśnicza również odgrywa istotną rolę w kształtowaniu wartości młodego człowieka. Obecnie jednym z istotnych czynników kształtujących system wartości są mass media.
    This article presents the issue of conditions of values-oriented upbringings. At the beginning the process of values-oriented upbringing. Talking about values-oriented upbringing one should pay attention to the role played by various educational environments. The most critical place, where a child’s hierarchy of values is shaped, is their family. It is followed by the school environment, which influences child’s values in an intentional and purposeful manner. A teacher sending to children specific messages in a school introduces them at the same time to the world of values. A peer group also plays an essential role in shaping the values of a young person. Currently, one of important elements shaping the system of values is mass media.

    Artykuł omawia najważniejsze wskazania dotyczące wychowania dzieci przedstawione w dokumentach Kościoła od roku 1929 do 2016. Przegląd jest wyczerpujący, uwzględnia Katechizm Kościoła katolickiego oraz Kodeks Prawa Kanonicznego, deklarację Soboru Watykańskiego II Gravissimum educationis oraz papieskie encykliki i adhortacje: Divini illius Magistri Piusa XI, Humanae vitae Pawła VI, Familiaris consortio, Veritatis splendor oraz Evangelium vitae Jana Pawła II, Amoris laetitia papieża Franciszka. Obok dokumentów poświęconych w całości sprawie wychowania (GE, DIM) omówiono te, które podejmują temat fragmentarycznie (FC, AL), oraz te, które nie mówią wprost o wychowaniu, jednak poruszana w nich tematyka podstawowych wartości pośrednio stanowi niezbędne wezwanie i wskazówki wychowawcze (HV, VS, EV). Chociaż pochodzą one z okresu prawie dziwięćdziesięciu lat, widoczna jest spójność myśli wychowawczej opartej na Objawieniu Bożym. Synteza tematu wydaje się szczególnie potrzebna w obecnych czasach, kiedy przed rodzicami stają zupełnie nowe wyzwania, jeśli chodzi o szeroko rozumiane środowisko wychowania ich dzieci.
    The article discusses the most important indications concerning the upbringing of children presented in the Church documents from 1929 to 2016. The review is comprehensive, it includes the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Code of Canon Law, the declaration of the Second Vatican Council Gravissimum educationis and papal encyclicals and exhortations: Divini illius Magistri by Pius XI, Humanae Vitae by Paul VI, Familiaris Consortio, Veritatis Splendor and Evangelium Vitae of John Paul II, Amoris Laetitia of Pope Francis. In addition to documents devoted entirely to the issue of education (GE, DIM), the ones that deal with the subject fragmentarily are discussed (FC, AL) and also those that do not explicitly talk about upbringing, but the subject matter of basic values is indirectly a necessary call and educational guidelines (HV, VS, EV). Although they come from the period of nearly 90 years, there is a visible coherence of educational thought based on God’s revelation. The synthesis of the subject seems especially necessary in the present times, when parents face completely new challenges when it comes to the broadly understood environment of raising their children.

    The article concerns contemporary perspectives on early education, early, emergent and visual literacy, and concepts of the development of cognitive, linguistic, and socio-emotional competencies by using picturebooks in the dialogic reading method. Picturebooks for small children, especially earlyconcept picturebooks, which present nouns, verbs, or adjectives and are aesthetically designed, have a great potential, and are important for the gaining of cognitive, emotional, and visual codes and ideas by the child, especially when they are introduced by an adult (parent at home or teacher in a preschool institution) through an active, dialogic manner of reading. Dialogic reading is shown and described by G.J. Whitehurst and other researchers as an interactive and stimulating method of cognitive and socio-emotional development, which enhances the children’s speaking and reading competencies independently of their class, race, or gender – which is of emancipatory significance. The main aim of the text is to turn the reader’s attention to the significance of interactive reading of precisely selected, high-quality picturebooks by parents and early education teachers in the context of children’s development.

    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie motywów posiadania dzieci (założenia rodziny) oraz wartości, jakimi kierują się badani rodzice przy wychowaniu. Starano się w nim także scharakteryzować podobieństwa i różnice w wychowaniu w rodzinie prokreacji i pochodzenia badanych. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań jakościowych i ilościowych zrealizowanych wśród mieszkańców województwa podkarpackiego i małopolskiego. Motywy prokreacyjne badanych są związane z postrzeganiem przez nich posiadania dzieci jako „naturalnej kolei rzeczy”, która jest elementem osiągnięcia określonego etapu w życiu. Można dostrzec pewne różnice w aspekcie motywów posiadania dzieci. Starsi rodzice częściej podkreślali, że posiadanie potomstwa było obowiązkiem i oczekiwaniem społecznym, którego spełnienie traktowano jako naturalną konsekwencję zawartego małżeństwa. Młodsi rodzice bardziej akcentowali potrzebę posiadania dzieci w aspekcie dopełnienia ich życia, świadomego wyboru i decyzji oraz samorealizacji. Najważniejszymi wartościami, które starają się przekazać badani rodzice swoim dzieciom, są uczciwość, prawdomówność, szczerość oraz szacunek dla innych. Część badanych wskazywała na różnice w wychowaniu w ich rodzinie pochodzenia i prokreacji.
    The aim of the article is to describe the motives of having children (starting a family) and the values that the surveyed parents want to teach their children. Efforts were also made to present the similarities and differences in upbringing in the respondents’ family of procreation and origin. The article presents the results of qualitative and quantitative research carried out among the residents of the Podkarpackie and Małopolskie voivodships. The procreative motives of the respondents are related to their perception of having children as a ‘natural order of things,’ as an element of reaching a certain point in life. There are some differences in the motives for having children. Older parents more often emphasized that having children was a social obligation and expectation, the fulfillment of which was a natural consequence of getting married. Younger parents indicated the need to have children in terms of completing their lives, making conscious choices and decisions, and self-fulfillment. The most important values that parents try to convey to their children are honesty, truthfulness, sincerity and respect for others. Some of the interlocutors pointed to the differences in upbringing in the family of origin and procreation.     Today we observe the dynamic changes in relations between the sexes in the family, which appear as a result of economic, cultural, and social transformation, the growth of women’s economic strength, as well as the level of their education, and the development of the ideas of the equal rights of women and men in the labour market and in social life. Hitherto existing research results show that Poles are increasingly in favour of the egalitarian family model and declare their wish to build their relationships based on equality. In the article I will characterise our cultural context, in which the egalitarian relation of a man and a woman in a family is both an educational space of confrontation between the “old” concept of family life, often rooted in Parsons’ concept of the nuclear family, and the “new” one, specific for the socio-cultural breakthrough in Poland. I will also present the involvement of formal education in fixing stereotypical images of family life, which are in opposition to the changes observed in relations between women and men. At the end I will present my own concept of education for equality in the marital relations, as well as the frame of equality between spouses in marital relations as a value of upbringing, which are a response to the needs of contemporary women and men.

    Zaprezentowane w artykule treści ukazują rolę i znaczenie rodziny w kształtowaniu teologalnej cnoty miłości. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono krótką analizę współczesnego świata i jego wpływ na rodzinę. Następnie podjęto problematykę rozumienia cnoty miłości i jej rolę w konstruowaniu poszczególnych postaw w rodzinie. W pozostałych częściach pracy przedstawiono integralną wizję człowieka rozumianego jako struktura cielesno-psychiczno-duchowa. To pozwoliło na przestawienie modelu wychowania rodzinnego opartego na teologalnej cnocie miłości. Artykuł nie wyczerpuje całości zagadnienia, ale może stanowić punkt wyjścia do bardziej szczegółowych opracowań w zakresie roli teologalnej cnoty miłości w kształtowaniu zasad wychowania ku miłości w środowisku rodzinnym.
    The article deals with the role and the importance of the family in shaping the theological virtue of charity. First part of the article presents a brief analysis of the contemporary world and its influence on family. Next, the issue of understanding the virtue of charity and its role in shaping particular attitudes in family was undertaken. Then, the integral vision of human being conceived as a bodily-psychical-spiritual structure was shown. Such approach allowed to present the upbringing model based on the theological virtue of charity. Although the article do not exhaust the whole problem, it may set the starting point for more detailed studies on the role of the theological virtue of charity in shaping the principles of upbringing towards charity in family environment.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest oddziaływaniom socjalizacyjnym w ówczesnym społe-czeństwie, które ze względu na zmieniane warunki społeczne i kulturowe przybierają formy różniące się od tradycyjnych modeli socjalizacji. Socjalizacja dziecka w rodzinie zaczyna się w chwilą jego narodzin, a jej przebieg i rezultaty determinują funkcjonowanie dziecka w grupie społecznej. Zaczerpnięte − często w toku obserwacji osób „znaczących” − wartości, normy, zasady postępowania czynią młodego człowieka społecznie wartościowym. Na podstawie zdobytych w rodzinie doświadczeń jednostka buduje swoją tożsamość, spogląda na rzeczywistość przez pryzmat świata wartości najbliższych, tego, co uważa się za ważne, wyjątkowe lub nieistotne, za dobre lub złe, przyjazne lub wrogie. To wszystko w obszarze dysfunkcjonalnej rodziny i wpływu jej na socjalizację dziecka.
    The article is devoted to socialization interactions in contemporary society, which due to changed social and cultural conditions take forms that differ from traditional models of socialization. The socialization of a child in a family begins at the moment of its birth, and its course and results determine the child's functioning in the social group. Extracts - often in the course of observation of "significant" people - values, norms, and rules of conduct make the young man socially valuable. On the basis of the experience gained in the family, it builds its identity, looks at reality through the prism of the world of values of loved ones, what is considered important, unique or unimportant, good or bad, friendly or hostile. It's all in the area of the dysfunctional family and its impact on the child's socialization.

    W artykule pokazano wartości leżące u podstaw szwedzkiego systemu wychowawczo- edukacyjnego. Najwyraźniej dostrzegalna jest koncentracja na indywidualnej wartości dziecka. Owocuje to, zwłaszcza w praktyce szkolnej, powszechnym stosowaniem metody indywidualizacji (mimo jej krytyki), podkreślaniem równości wszystkich ludzi i koncentracją na prawach dzieci. Rodzina jest postrzegana jako środowisko, które temu zagraża. Dużą wagę przykłada się do wychowania szkolnego, w którym na pierwszym miejscu stawia się wartości praktyczne i umiejętności. Nie może być ono wiązane z jakimś jednym systemem etyczno-moralnym. Takie ateistyczne i gnostyczne założenia wychowawcze budzą szereg kontrowersji, zwłaszcza wśród rodziców w odniesieniu do ich prawa do przekazania dzieciom wartości religijnych i zasad moralnych oraz lekcji religii w szkole. Jednak w Szwecji wartości te i prawa mają o wiele mniejszą wagę niż wartość postępu, na którą ukierunkowany jest system wychowania i edukacji tego kraju.
    The author tries to reveal the most fundamental values underlying the Swedish educational system – education. Clearly noticeable is the focus on the individual values of the child. Especially in school practice, it leads to widespread use of methods of individualization (despite its criticism), highlighting the equality of all people, and focus on children’s rights. The family is seen as an environment that threatens these values. Great attention is paid to school education with values and practical skills as a main subject. Education cannot be associated with any one ethical and moral system. Such atheistic and gnostic educational foundation raises a number of controversies especially among parents with regard to their right to provide religious and moral principles to their children, as well as religion classes in school. However, in the context of Sweden, these values and rights are less important than the value of the progress, which is treated with a special attention.

    Autor podjął się opracowania tematu: posiłki rodzinne jako narzędzie budowania więzi. Z analizy literatury przedmiotu wynika, że posiłek rodzinny w historii ulegał przemianom i bardzo mocno zależał od sytuacji ekonomicznej i społecznej rodziny. W czasach najdawniejszych kobiety i dzieci, ze względu na niską pozycję społeczną bardzo rzadko mogły jeść razem z mężczyznami. Sytuacja uległa zmianie, gdy kobieta stała się opiekunką domowego ogniska, a dzieci odgrywały co raz większą rolę. W czasie II wojny światowej obraz rodziny, która wspólnie je obiad, był wykorzystywany do celów propagandowych, ale ze względu na liczbę mężczyzn przebywających na froncie, rzadko dochodził do skutku. Za „złoty okres” rodzinnych posiłków uznane zostały lata pięćdziesiąte XX wieku, w których były one powszechne. Dzisiaj częstotliwość posiłków rodzinnych zależy od wielu czynników. Można tu wymienić zmiany w strukturze rodziny czy dużą aktywność pozaszkolną dzieci. Wyniki różnią się w zależności od badań, ale u wielu z nich zauważa się spadek częstości rodzinnych spotkań przy stole. Rodzice podobnie jak ich dzieci cenią sobie czas, który spędzają wspólnie podczas jedzenia, a jedną z głównych zalet takich spotkań jest wzmacnianie więzi między rodzicami i ich dziećmi. Nie jest to jednak jedyny pozytyw rodzinnych posiłków. Wśród nastolatków, którzy regularnie jedzą z rodzicami mnożna zauważyć mniejszą liczbę chorych na depresję i sięgających po różnego typu używki. W tej specyficznej grupie dostrzegalny jest również pozytywny wpływ na wyniki w nauce dzieci i młodzieży i problem nadwagi.
    The author undertook to develop the topic: family meals as a tool for building relationships. The analysis of the literature on the subject shows that the family meal has changed in history and very much depended on the economic and social situation of the family. In the earliest times, women and children, due to their low social position, could rarely eat with men. The situation changed when the woman became the caretaker of the hearth and the children played an increasingly important role. During World War II, the image of the family eating dinner was used for propaganda purposes, but due to the number of men on the front, it rarely materialized. The 1950s, when they were common, were considered the 'golden age' of family meals. Today, the frequency of family meals depends on many factors. We can mention changes in the family structure or high extracurricular activity of children. Results vary across studies, but many have seen a decline in the frequency of family meetings at the table. Parents, like their children, value the time they spend together while eating, and one of the main advantages of such meetings is strengthening the bond between parents and their children. However, this is not the only positive thing about family meals. Among adolescents who regularly eat with their parents, there is a smaller number of people suffering from depression and using various types of stimulants. In this specific group, there is also a noticeable positive impact on the educational performance of children and adolescents and the problem of overweight.

    Opis:
    In the article one undertook the issue of values acknowledged and fixed during the interaction through the youth with threatened marginalization, neglected tutorially, with included care of the Centre of the Training and the Upbringing in Tczew (OSiW) which is the organizational unit of Voluntary Labour Corps of Pomeranian Voivodship. In the discourse of the youth with OSiW withdraws the phenomenon of passing from values, such as: the family, the work, the order (serial activities) to anti-values, to not accepting of the value of the family, the work, the order, generally, passing from the good to the evil, the aggression. Valuing is helped by the use of vulgarisms.
