Opis:
Unlike conventional fresh water producing systems, from saline or brackish water, the innovative solar water producing systems are efficient and effective. Experiments were conducted on two identical roof-type solar stills and simultaneously tested under the same weather conditions. One of these stills was modified by integrating a vacuum pump to lower the pressure inside while the other still was used as a reference unit. Different concentrations of Al2O3 nanoparticles were chosen, 0.2%, 0.4%, and 0.6%, and used with water inside the modified still. It was verified that the modified still, without nanoparticles, yields 34.84% more production than the conventional still. In addition, the modified still with a 0.4% of Al2O3 nanoparticles produced the highest percentage of distilled water, 44.42% in comparison to the one without the use of Al2O3 nanoparticles, followed by 37.94% and 24.07% for 0.6% and 0.2% of Al2O3 nanoparticles, respectively.

Opis:
Rotary vane vacuum pumps are devices widely used in various types of industries. A three-phase electric motor, which is a usual drive source in this group of devices, propels rotor, which is eccentric placed in the cylinder. The combination of this arrangement, between cylinder and rotor, with centrifugal force, forces the vanes to move out and into its slots milled in the rotor. As a result, the increase and decrease of the inter-vane volume occur, causing the air to be sucked into the pump. Due to improper exploitation, there is a possibility of a mechanical damage to the vane, and in some cases the vane can fall out of its groove, what leads to catastrophic failure. The article presents a new method for diagnostics of vanes, based on the observation and analysis of a pressure signal, generated by a rotary vane vacuum pump.

When the traditional multi-motor speed synchronous control strategy is applied to the vacuum pump system, it is prone to the drawbacks of large synchronization error. In this paper, a simplified mathematical model of the motor for a vacuum pump is established and the transfer function is introduced, which weakens the multivariable, strong coupling and nonlinear characteristics of the motor system. According to the basic principle of the relative coupling control strategy, the neural network Proportion Integration Differentiation (PID) is introduced as a speed compensator in this system.
