    Opis:
    This paper acts as a presentation of 2006 research carried out on 1525 individuals (1383 male and 142 female) residing in 39 homeless shelters scattered around 13 provinces of the Republic of Poland. The main reason of homelessness turned out to be unemployment (571 individuals i.e. 37,44% of the whole). It was characteristic that 68,3% of women and 82,0% of men above the age of 40 were not only homeless but also unemployed. In fact, it was proved that the elderly, who had been made redundant in the past, found it more difficult to find a proper job. The research also showed that the unemployment and homelessness act as factors restraining people from getting married and setting up families (34,69%) as well as the reason for marital failure.

    The article is an attempt to present the thesis that social employment may constitute an appropriate instrument to counteract social exclusion. Employment is an element of social stimulus to action, promote social and occupational mobility. These activities are part of the active social policy based on stimulating the action that aims at maximizing human resources. Activity on the ground of welfare service is a very desirable form of assistance. Assistance can’t be equated with the replacement of potential of the individual units. These activities are aimed at interruption of the period of occupation inactivity and creating a conditions leading to sustainable employment.

    The article discusses the situation of the Roma minority in Poland through the prism of the problems of marginalization and social exclusion, in particular their causes and manifestations. The biggest problem is overcoming the cause-and- effect chain: lack of education - high unemployment - poverty, which further aggravate the marginalization of minorities and inhibit development in key areas of life. The result of such behavior is usually the exclusion of a group from social life. This article attempts at presenting the factors of marginalization of Roma - low education, unemployment and poverty - and presenting the program of integration of the Roma minority in Poland.
    Artykuł traktuje o sytuacji mniejszości romskiej we współczesnej Polsce przez pryzmat problemów marginalizacji i wykluczenia społecznego, w szczególności ich przyczyn i przejawów. Przyjęto tezę, że największym wyzwaniem jest przełamanie ciągu przyczynowo-skutkowego: braki w wykształceniu – wysokie bezrobocie – ubóstwo, które dodatkowo pogłębiają spychanie tej mniejszości na margines życia społecznego oraz utrudniają rozwój w kluczowych dla każdej grupy dziedzinach. Skutkiem takich procesów jest najczęściej wykluczenie badanej mniejszości z życia społecznego. W artykule podjęto próbę analizy wybranych czynników marginalizacji Romów: niskiego wykształcenia, bezrobocia i ubóstwa, oraz prezentacji programów integracji mniejszości romskiej w Polsce.

    The article presents the question of possible forms of social exclusion towards people affected Asperger’s and ADHD. These diseases, although share their considerable differences, are alike in that they seriously hinder interpersonal relationships, which can cause a very negative reactions from the environment, even taking the form of a social exclusion. Their common feature is also the fact that these diseases appear in early childhood, and therefore in a particularly vulnerable period of life when needed for proper development are the best contacts with the social environment. Often, the consequences of psychological trauma caused by social rejection may be more severe and prolonged than the disease itself. For example, ADHD often disappears spontaneously in adolescence (most likely due to the maturation of the brain, especially the frontal cortex areas), and the psychological effects of rejection by peers, teachers and even his own family may persist for a long time, assuming eg. the tendency to form depressive episodes. The article presents the most important symptoms of Asperger’s syndrome and ADHD, which to the greatest extent may contribute to social isolation and the most important forms of therapeutic, pedagogical and educational impacts in order to improve the social relations of these children and provide them with the proper functioning of the social environment.
    W artykule przedstawiono kwestię możliwych form wykluczenia społecznego wobec osób dotkniętych zespołem Aspergera i ADHD. Choroby te, choć charakteryzują je znaczne różnice, są do siebie podobne, ponieważ obie poważnie utrudniają relacje międzyludzkie, mogące powodować bardzo negatywne reakcje ze strony środowiska, przyjmując formę nawet wykluczenia społecznego. Ich wspólną cechą jest również fakt, że choroby te pojawiają się we wczesnym dzieciństwie, a zatem w szczególnie wrażliwym okresie życia, gdy kontakty ze środowiskiem społecznym są potrzebne do prawidłowego rozwoju i gdy są one najlepsze. Często konsekwencje urazu psychicznego spowodowanego odrzuceniem społecznym mogą być bardziej dotkliwe i przedłużone niż sama choroba. Na przykład ADHD często zanika samoistnie w okresie dojrzewania (najprawdopodobniej z powodu dojrzewania mózgu, zwłaszcza obszarów kory czołowej), a psychologiczne skutki odrzucenia przez rówieśników, nauczycieli, a nawet własną rodzinę mogą utrzymywać się przez długi czas, uruchamiając na przykład tendencje do tworzenia epizodów depresyjnych. W artykule przedstawiono najważniejsze objawy zespołu Aspergera i ADHD, które w największym stopniu mogą przyczynić się do izolacji społecznej, oraz główne formy oddziaływania terapeutycznego, pedagogicznego i edukacyjnego w celu poprawy stosunków społecznych tych dzieci i zapewnienia im prawidłowego funkcjonowania w środowisku społecznym.

    The contribution analyzes the most important risks of the present youth subcultures and the opportunities for social work and social pedagogy with regard to the problems of youth subcultures. The basic characteristics of youth subcultures is described as well as their social development, types and forms. The central meaning is inscribed to the possibilities of interdisciplinary coaction of social pedagogy and social work when solving specific problems of youth subcultures in the process of socialization during free time or at the penetration of social deviations. A specific attention is paid to the definition of the professional roles of social workers and social pedagogues in relation to the risky youth subcultures.

    W artykule powiązano perspektywę teoretyczną badań nad kulturą bezrobotnych z dorobkiem francuskiego socjologa Pierre’a Bourdieu, w tym z teorią pól. Pole (le champ) jest jedną z kluczowych kategorii jego teorii. Refleksyjna analiza pojęć teoretycznych P. Bourdieu jest pomocna, aby wyjaśnić przyczyny marginalizacji i wykluczenia na przykładzie długoterminowego bezrobocia. Analiza teoretyczna ukazała, że przyczyny marginalizacji tkwią nie tylko w samych jednostkach jej ulegających, ale także uwarunkowane są przemianami ogólnospołecznymi, strukturą społeczną danego państwa. Analizy Bourdieu są dobrą podstawą do programowania polityki publicznej, której celem jest ograniczanie społecznych i ekonomicznych skutków trwałego bezrobocia.
    The article links the prospect of theoretical research on the culture of the unemployed with the achievements of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, including the theory of fields (le champ), which is one of the key categories of his theory. A reflexive analysis of P. Bourdieu’s theoretical concepts is helpful to explain the reasons for marginalization and exclusion on the example of long-term unemployment. Theoretical analysis showed that the reasons for marginalization lie not only in the entities subject to marginalization, but also are conditioned by general social changes, the social structure of a given country. Bourdieu’s analyses are a good basis for programming public policy, the aim of which is to limit the social and economic effects of permanent unemployment.
