The everyday life of Poles living abroad is closely related to the tradition of their country of origin regardless of the elements that make up this life. Education and science play an important role in maintaining ties with the nation and the ethos of the Polish national heritage. This article undertakes the description of the conditions for implementing the academic education of Poles in exile and emigration, noting the importance of the activity of the Polish University Abroad for the traditions of Polish culture, education and science. The article also attempts to identify the mission and vision of academic education at the Polish University Abroad, as well as its present and future directions of development.
Codzienność Polaków przebywających poza granicami Polski, niezależnie od elementów, jakie się na nią składają, jest w ścisłym związku z tradycją kraju swojego pochodzenia. W zachowaniu więzi z narodem oraz z etosem polskiego dziedzictwa narodowego ważną rolę odgrywa edukacja i nauka. W artykule podejmujemy się opisania warunków realizacji kształcenia akademickiego Polaków na uchodźstwie i emigracji, zwracając uwagę na znaczenie aktywności Polskiego Uniwersytetu na Uchodźstwie dla tradycji kultury polskiej, edukacji i nauki. Podjęliśmy także próbę wskazania Misji i Wizji kształcenia akademickiego w Polskiej Uczelni Wyższej poza granicami ojczyzny, w czasach teraźniejszych i kierunków rozwoju w przyszłości.

Employability of university graduates has been the subject of study abroad for many years. In Poland, in contrast, most of the higher education institutions (HEIs) started monitoring graduates only as a result of the statutory requirement in 2011. So far, the number of cross-cutting research taking into account the total of results of graduates studies of various Polish universities is scarce. Since some generalizations in this area would be valuable for representatives of HEIs, higher education policy makers and also for prospective students, this article is an attempt to fill this gap. The objective of this paper is to present various types of indicators measuring labour market success of graduates, with an analysis of their limitations and usability in terms of comparing universities, as well as entire higher education systems. The article presents the results of the analysis of the reports of graduate surveys at Polish universities. For the purpose of comparison, foreign research concerning graduate employability were also examined. Study indicated that employment rate is a key indicator of graduate employability, it may be enriched with indicators of quality of the workplace (conditions of employment and remuneration). Other useful indicators of labour market success of graduates: the average lengths of job search and links between major and subsequent employment (qualification mismatches). Finally, it is important to study graduate long-term employability. Few years after graduation the measurement of the graduates career path will be more reliable and their self-evaluation - thanks to several years of professional experience - will be more valuable.

The inability to find employment is a huge problem faced today by many young people with a university diploma. This difficult situation of the university graduates entering labor market is caused by a variety of factors, including, among others, the mismatch between their training to the needs of the labor market in the region or the lack of competence required by local employers. The primary objective of this study was to identify the fate of the graduates of the Faculty of Economics of University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The research provided information about the respondents' activity after graduation, their work expectations and the respondents' subjective assessment of these expectations fulfillment with their current employer. Respondents also assessed the suitability of qualifications acquired during their faculty studies to obtain employment. Moreover, the study highlights the importance of the extracurricular activities undertaken during the period of study in creating value of the graduates in the labor market and their impact on implementing professional goals.

The procedures and criteria used in a promotion processes of scientific workers have recently been the subject of spirited debates and disputes. The aim of the present study is to explain and discuss the organizational and legal conditions of the postdoctoral process. Particular attention has been paid to the criteria of the evaluation of candidates' academic achievements. Firstly, the theoretical aspects of the issues raised are discussed (with reference to the particular legal acts). The following part of the article presents the most significant observations and conclusions which result from the research in the discussed topic area.

The issue of innovativeness and innovation in the higher education sector is becoming increasingly important. Universities adopt the outside-inside type of attitude in order to strengthen their position in the education market and to conform to new circumstances. The desirability and possibility of implementation of pro-innovation attitudes by Polish universities was discussed in the paper. Starting from the literature review in terms of innovation, determinants forcing innovativeness on research units were discussed and also organizational and managerial issues were presented. The paper was summed up by examples of marketing innovations that have been implemented in selected Polish universities.
Zagadnienie innowacji i innowacyjności w sektorze szkolnictwa wyższego nabiera coraz większego znaczenia. Uczelnie starając się umocnić na rynku edukacyjnym, przyjmują postawę typu outside-inside, aby dostosowywać się do nowych uwarunkowań, w jakich przychodzi im funkcjonować. W artykule poddano dyskusji celowość i możliwości wdrażania postawy proinnowacyjnej przez polskie uczelnie wyższe. Wychodząc od przeglądu dorobku literaturowego w zakresie innowacyjności, zaprezentowano determinanty wymuszające na jednostkach naukowych skierowanie się ku innowacjom oraz wskazano na wiążące się z tym zagadnienia natury organizacyjnej i menedżerskiej. Całość została podsumowana przykładami innowacji marketingowych, które zostały wdrożone w wybranych polskich uczelniach.

Research Objective: This article aims to discuss the results of research conducted as part of a project carried out by PhD students at Warsaw School of Economics in 2014-2015 within the context of work culture in business education, including the developments attitudes of entrepreneurship.The Research Problem and Methods: The main research problem is formulated in the following, complex question: What is the teaching culture of the teaching processes carried out by PhD students and which elements of the processes are emphasised and which are not taken into account by them? The research method was case study.The Process of Argumentation: The analysis of empirical data is preceded by an overview of the theories of work culture in business education within the context of the latest trends in education as a result of changes in the (business) environment, including the changing expectations of university graduates with business degrees in terms of their attitudes to enterprise.Research Results: The processes under analysis only marginally take into account an education that develops attitudes of entrepreneurship, i.e. freedom of activity, flexibility and creativity, responsibility sharing, openness to new roles, the use of best practices and, last but not least, atmosphere of innovation.Conclusions, Innovations and Recommendations: Research shows that contrary to expectations, the predominant approach to teaching adopted by candidates for academic teachers is the mechanistic-passive culture model. Only to a small degree does their teaching show features of the humanistic culture model, which is based on interactive forms of teaching and activating methods, which means that the teaching process is not focused on developing the students’ attitude of entrepreneurship. In this situation, practical teaching of doctoral candidates concerning innovative didactic methods, including business methods and implementation of social competence within teaching, is of particular importance.

Pozwoliło to na porównanie motywów, jakimi kierowali się absolwenci szkół średnich w przeszłości i obecnie podczas wyboru kierunku studiów.
This article presents an analysis and discussion concerning secondary school students’ motives for their choice of the field and university as well as graduates’ ideas about their future on thelabour market. This research was conducted among students of the University of Rzeszów and theRzeszów University of Technology in May 2019. The Central Statistical Office 2004 research hasalso been presented and compared to determine the choice of students university field interest withthe data collected in the current investigation.

W ramach swoich działań statutowych Rzeszowska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego S.A. za-rządza strefami inwestycyjnymi, w których przedsiębiorcy z całego świata lokują swoje biznesy. Okazuje się, że w ostatnim czasie wielu z nich ma poważne problemy z młodymi pracownikami, którzy opuszczają mury uczelni i podejmują pierwszą pracę, trafiając do zespołów, które stanowią kopie amerykańskich, kanadyjskich, niemieckich, włoskich i innych działów firm macierzystych. Okazuje się, że model kształcenia na poziomie wyższym obecny w Polsce znacząco różni się od potrzeb współczesnych pracodawców. Celem artykułu jest próba ukazania zjawiska luki kompe-tencyjnej wśród polskich pracowników na przykładzie branży lotniczej i motoryzacyjnej.
To begin discussions about changes, the education system in Poland should certainly begin to reflect on this issue, from the question of whether the changes are necessary, more precisely, which elements of the education system do not keep pace with the needs of modern employers, or the answer to the question whether the system should be self-confident that it reforms towards the real needs of the labor market? The aim of the article will be an attempt to indicate the directions of changes in the education system in Poland.

Transformation of the labor market increases the role of the competence in building a successful career. Career advice in the changing and uncertain reality faces the challenge of expanding the catalog of new working tools for the diagnosis of competence as well as their development. It is important that implemented method were understood by employers and were part of the preparation for specific professional tasks. The purpose of the article is to examine the rules of conducting the assessment center in career advice for people entering the labor market. The characteristic of at the Assessment Center, presented in the study, allows to recognize it as a learning process for adults - not just for students. First part of the article addresses the key features that should characterize a session of the Assessment Center. Then, the author discusses some elements of the process of creating and implementing a session and provides an example of a development project carried out in the office careers of Nicolaus Copernicus University in 2009-2013. The support obtained through this process is particularly focused on the identification of the areas related to the effectiveness of performing professional duties, which makes AC an important working tool for careers advisers, on condition that they are provided with the much larger resources (such as time, an adequate organizational structure unit in charge of counseling , etc.) than it is in case of traditional careers offices.

W artykule zostały zaprezentowane doświadczenia studentów z uczestnictwa w zajęciach realizowanych z wykorzystaniem podejść partycypacyjnych. W opisywanym kursie w roku akademicki 2020/2021 uczestniczyło 79 studentów – 49 kobiet i 30 mężczyzn. Wszyscy byli studentami II roku studiów licencjackich w systemie stacjonarnym. W pierwszej części tekstu krótko zostanie scharakteryzowana historia podejść partycypacyjnych, która rozwijana jest w Katedrze Pedagogiki Społecznej w Łodzi. Następnie przejdziemy do omawiania najważniejszych założeń podejść partycypacyjnych, które odnosić się będą do aspektów dydaktycznych/edukacyjnych. W dalszej części artykułu przejdziemy do omawiania metodologii badania towarzyszącej opisywanym zajęciom, oraz prezentacji wniosków badawczych. Rekonstrukcja doświadczeń studentów odbywała się poprzez analizę wypowiedzi udzielanych w ramach dwóch tur wywiadów grupowych. Pierwsza tura odbyła się przed rozpoczęciem zajęć, druga po ich zakończeniu. W wywiadach wzięli udział wszyscy uczestnicy kursu. W trakcie analizy skupiono się na kilku aspektach, które dotyczyły zalet, wyzwań, jak i trudności w pracy wykorzystującej podejścia partycypacyjne. Aspektom tym nadano określone kategorie, takie jak rozmycie ról, empowerment czy myślenie krytyczne.
This paper presents students' experiences of participating in a course that was carried out using participatory approaches. The described course in the academic year 2020/2021 was attended by 79 students, including 49 women and 30 men. All students were second-year students of full-time undergraduate studies. The first part of the text, the history of participatory approaches developed in the Department of Social Pedagogy in Lodz is briefly presented. Then we move on to discuss the most important assumptions of participatory approaches, which refer to didactic/educational aspects. In the following part of the article, we describe the methodology of the research that accompanied the course sessions and present the research findings. The students' experiences were reconstructed through the analysis of their responses, which were given during two rounds of group interviews. The first round took place before the classes started, the second after the classes ended. All course participants took part in the interviews. During the analysis of their responses, we focused on several aspects that were most frequently mentioned by the students, which related to the advantages, challenges, and difficulties of work with the use of participatory approaches. We gave these aspects specific categories such as role blurring, empowerment, and critical thinking. The material result of these activities is this article, which was written together with the students.

W artykule poruszono niezwykle ważną i aktualną problematykę dotyczącą wyboru kierunku studiów po ukończeniu szkoły średniej. Wybór ten stanowi bardzo ważną decyzję życiową, która może decydować o przyszłości zawodowej i społecznej młodego człowieka. Jest on tym trudniejszy, że obecnie szybkie tempo rozwoju technologicznego generuje bardzo szybkie zmiany na rynku pracy. Dziś cenione zawody za kilka lat mogą stracić na znaczeniu, a dzisiaj niszowe – stać się bardzo atrakcyjne i prestiżowe za kilka lat. Pewne zawody występujące obecnie na rynku pracy za 10 lat mogą już nie istnieć i zostaną zastąpione innymi, jeszcze niewystępującymi obecni. W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono wyniki badań pilotażowych przeprowadzonych na studentach wydziału Pedagogicznego Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, dotyczących czynników wpływających na ich wybór kierunku studiów. Badania przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem ankiety elektronicznej dostępnej przez internet.
This article deals with an extremely important and current issue concerning the choice ofa field of study after high school graduation. This choice is a very important life decision, whichmay determine the professional and social future of a young person. This is all the more difficultbecause the current rapid pace of technological development generates very rapid changes on thelabour market. Today, the valued profession may lose its importance in a few years' time, andtoday’s niche profession may become very attractive and prestigious in a few years’ time. Someoccupations currently on the labour market may no longer exist in 10 years’ time and will be replaced by different ones not yet present. This research paper presents the results of pilot studiescarried out on students of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Rzeszów concerning factors influencing their choice of a particular field of study. The research was conducted using anelectronic survey available via the Internet.

W dniu 23 września 2020 r. uczestniczyłem w Webinarium Ogólnopolskiej Konferencji Nauczania Matematyki w Uczelniach Technicznych, które było zorganizowane przez Centrum Nauczania Matematyki i Kształcenia na Odległość Politechniki Gdańskiej. W pracy sformułowałem kilka uwag na temat zdalnego nauczania.
On September 23, 2020, I participated in the Webinar of the National Conference on Mathematics Teaching at Technical Universities, which was organized by the Center for Teaching Mathematics and Distance Learning of the Gdańsk University of Technology. In the paper, I formulated some remarks on distance learning. It seems that the most important thing is to ensure stable internet connections. On the basis of the classes conducted so far, it can be noticed that thanks to the pandemic, the process of digitization of the teaching process has been accelerated by preparing appropriate didactic materials in an electronic version. In my case, it was only an extension and redrafting of previously prepared lectures.

The paper presents the main idea of the Continuous Quality Improvement and several examples of its applications in higher education. Through the CQI method characteristics, both implementation benefits and accompanying difficulties will be presented. Moreover, an attempt was made to analyze the impact of the Continuous Quality Improvement method on the education quality – the TOP500 ranking was used for this.
