    W dzisiejszych czasach dostęp do precyzyjnej oraz czytelnej informacji jest jednym z faktorów znacząco wpływających na poprawę jakości komunikacji miejskiej. W artykule zaprezentowano przegląd dotyczący systemów informacji pasażerskiej w Warszawie i Moskwie oraz wyniki badań ankietowych. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań można stwierdzić, że informacja pasażerska stanowi istotny element dla użytkowników systemów komunikacji publicznej i należy rozwijać dostęp do niej.
    Nowadays, access to accurate and clear information is one of the factors significantly affecting the improvement of the quality of public transport. The article presents an overview of the passenger information systems in Warsaw and Moscow, and the results of the survey. Based on the survey it can be said that passenger information is an important element for users of public transport systems should be developed and access to it.

    The economic development of Poland depends on a modern, effective and safe transport system. It is dependent on proper legal regulations both Polish and EU. They give an opportunity to develop innovative urban logistics or electromobility. The aim of the article is to analyze EU and Polish legal regulations regarding innovative public transport, as well as to present development prospects for electromobility.
    Rozwój gospodarczy Polski zależy od nowoczesnego, efektywnego i bezpiecznego systemu transportu. Uzależniony on jest od właściwych regulacji prawnych zarówno polskich, jak i unijnych. Dają one szansę na rozwój innowacyjnej logistyki miejskiej czy elektromobilności. Celem artykułu jest analiza unijnych i polskich regulacji prawnych dotyczących innowacyjnego transportu publicznego, a także przedstawienie perspektyw rozwojowych elektromobilności.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The main aim of the article is identification of passengers' preferences and satisfaction with public transport services as the basis for evaluating the quality of urban public transport services and it’s improvement. Design/methodology/approach: The research included a satisfaction survey of urban passenger transport customers in the city of Żory, where free public transport operates. The literature review provided an opportunity to identify the factors to be assessed in the survey. Findings: The survey has shown that respondents indicate the frequency of buses, punctuality, the technical condition of the means of transport, the number of seats available on the bus during peak hours and the efficiency of air conditioning and heating as the most important improvements in the quality in organization and realization of public passenger transport. These results are the basis for action by the transport provider. Research limitations/implications: The survey concerns only the city of Żory public passengers transport, while the proposed research approach can be used in research for other cities. Practical implications: Adaptation of the transport offer to the passengers requirements in order to encourage them to use public transport more often. This solution will increase the competitiveness of this form of transport in relation to individual transport modes. Social implications: The quality of passenger transport services in the city plays a key role in shaping the quality of inhabitants life. The competitiveness of this form of transport also influences the environmental aspect – among others, the reduction of low emissions. Nevertheless, in order to ensure the use of this form of transport, it is necessary to continuously improve the offer and quality of service provision. Originality/value: The presented research is important in the activities of urban passenger transport operators as it provides information on the importance of factors influencing the growth of interest in this type of services, and therefore is important in building a customer service strategy.

    Opracowywanie i wdrażanie efektywnych i przyjaznych środowisku systemów transportu publicznego oraz zmiana relacji między transportem prywatnym a zbiorowym jest jednym z zasadniczych celów współczesnych miast. Zbiorowe formy przewozów są najbardziej efektywne społecznie i spójne z funkcjonowaniem i rozwojem miasta. Celem artykułu jest analiza miejsca i roli transportu publicznego w obsłudze przewozowej miast na tle zasadniczych tendencji występujących w przewozach pasażerskich w krajach UE. Analizie poddano ogólne wielkości przewozów pasażerów samochodami osobowymi, transportem kolejowym, metrem i tramwajami, komunikacją autobusową oraz jednośladami w UE-27 w latach 1995-2010. Omówiono również strukturę przewozów pasażerów w wybranych krajach UE. Następnie przedmiotem analizy była struktura obsługi przewozowej aglomeracji miejskich na świecie. Analiza ta pozwoliła na sformułowanie konkluzji, iż pomimo ogólnej dominacji transportu prywatnego w przewozach pasażerskich, potrzeby komunikacyjne aglomeracji obsługiwane są przez ekologiczne, tanie społecznie formy transportu publicznego. W dalszej części artykułu zaprezentowano ,“dobre praktyki“ wdrażania i promocji zbiorowych form transportu w miastach europejskich.
    Development and implementation of effective and nvironmentally friendly public transport systems and change of the relationship between private and collective transport is one of the main objectives of modern cities. Collective forms of transport are the most effective socially and consistent with the operation and development of the city. The purpose of this article is to analyze the place and role of public transport in urban transport service from the general trends in passenger transport in the EU countries. This paper analyzes the overall volumes of transportation by passenger cars, rail, metro and tram, bus transportation and two-wheelers in the EU-27 in the period 1995-2010. It also discusses the structure of passenger transport in selected EU countries. Then the operation structure of the urban transport networks in the world was analyzed. This analysis allowed us to formulate conclusions that the transportation operation of modern, large cities is accomplished on the basis of public transport. The rest of the article presents the „good practices“ implementation and promotion of collective forms of transport in European cities.

    The article concerns the study of communication behavior of high school and university students in Piła and Chodzież counties. The main problem is the mobility preferences of pupils and students. The article characterizes the concept of city, urban transport and mobility, and then proposes a mobility model that takes into account the preferences of residents when choosing the means of transport. The article ends with a presentation of survey results and drawing appropriate conclusions. They will help in presenting the proposed directions of development of transport infrastructure in the Piła and Chodzież counties. The aim of the article is to assess the communication behavior of high school and university students and the ways of their movement.
    Artykuł dotyczy badania zachowań komunikacyjnych uczniów szkół średnich i studentów w powiecie pilskim i chodzieskim. Głównym problemem są preferencje uczniów i studentów w zakresie mobilności. W artykule scharakteryzowano pojęcie miasta, transportu miejskiego oraz mobilności, a następnie zaproponowano model mobilności uwzględniający preferencje mieszkańców przy wyborze środka transportu. Artykuł kończy się prezentacją wyników badań ankietowych i wyciągnięciem stosownych wniosków. Pomogą one w przedstawieniu propozycji kierunków rozwoju infrastruktury transportowej na terenie powiatu pilskiego i chodzieskiego. Celem artykułu jest ocena zachowań komunikacyjnych uczniów szkół średnich i studentów oraz sposobów ich poruszania się.

    The development of industrialization in the 20th century that resulted in the conversion of agricultural land in the industrial societies and migration of rural population to urban areas, started the process of urbanization in the world. The changes resulted in infrastructure transformations and determined the shape and functioning of the centers of modern life. Present continually increasing urban growth, complicates the free movement of goods and cargo flows in cities. It affects their dysfunctional nature, generating phenomenon in the form of transport congestion. The aim of research is the approximation of this problem. The study will be done on the example of the transportation system condition in the urban area of Białystok.
