    The escalating globalization of the market, increased competitiveness and the necessity to intensify actions directed at an appropriate level of logistics customer service, as well as the growth in provided services, are the most important strategic decisions made by transport enterprises. The tendency of transport enterprises to ensure fluidity of supplies and reduce the costs of transport processes requires the use of innovative technologies, which allow companies to improve the control of transport services. Enterprises plan transport services to minimize the costs. Therefore, looking for and implementing new solutions, which have an impact on increasing the efficiency of transport processes, are driving forces for every transport company. In this article, the authors conducted an analysis of the process of providing transport services in a specific enterprise. The authors also show that transport processes may be improved through the implementation of innovative monitoring system.

    Transport plays an important role in national economies and impacts on economic development. The scale of the transportation of goods that may be dangerous to humans and the environment is expanding every year. Overall, transport is dangerous for the environment and road users, causing the increased emission of pollutants, accidents and traffic collisions. The rise in demand of basic materials, such as petrol and diesel, has led to a growth in the transport of dangerous goods, which in turn has increased the risk of road accidents. The research method used in this article involves an analysis of the inspection rates regarding the transport of dangerous goods by road in the EU and related legal documents.

    W artykule przedstawiono istotę zastosowania czujników wykrywających ruch głównie w dziedzinie transportu. Różnorodność aplikacji wykorzystujących działanie sensorów jest wynikową wymagań płynących z branż oraz ofert wielu różnych dostawców. Na rynku można odnaleźć szereg typów i wersji czujników, które różnią się strefą działania, obudową, rodzajem wyjścia, itp. Użycie odpowiedniego czujnika warunkuje utworzenie sprawnego systemu, jakim przykładowo są systemy pomiarowe natężenia ruchu na drogach, a co za tym idzie, wykorzystanie jego możliwości do badań i analiz w celu poprawy usług przewozowych oraz zagwarantowaniu bezpieczeństwa pasażerom.
    The article presents the essence of using sensors to detect movement mainly in transport. The diversity of applications that use sensor’s operation is resulting requirements flowing from industries and offers a variety of vendors. At the market you can find a number of types and versions of the sensors, which they are different in the zone of action, housing, type exit, etc. The use of appropriate sensor determines the establishment of an efficient system, what for example can be measurement systems traffic on the roads and use of its features for research and analysis in order to improve transport services and ensuring passenger safety.

    Today, route planning requires freight forwarders to make a conscious effort to identify unloading points such that the transport process is both cost- and time-efficient. At the same time, operational parameters that help to determine the validity of the chosen route must also be considered. This article aims to present the key metrics and ways of attaining them to provide a reliable determination of a transport company’s performance. Based on a selected transport company, the authors collected data on the transport routes implemented in 2020. Interpretation and analysis of the extracted information of the concerned sections were carried out and followed by alternatives. We present in this article the results of research concerning the exploitation parameters of the vehicle set. The evaluation of a given route section was indicated using selected indicators adapted to the specificity of the enterprise. The results are aimed at locating the components that have a destructive impact on the entire process. The proposed solutions serve to introduce factors that will pave way for improving the services provided. An in-depth analysis of all sections and key parameters was performed. Because of the conducted studies, abnormal parameters were identified, efficient sections were distinguished and new routes were developed in the case of previous routes that were not highly efficient and which had a possible alternative corridor. The obtained results of the research can comprise, for logistics managers, vital elements in the transport process, to which attention should be given in the course of overseeing these processes.
