Opis:
Aim: The aim of the study is to present the concepts of virtual space functioning in literature and to analyse the quality and quantity of three forms of presentation of tourist spatial data, such as geoportal, virtual walk (excursion) or a video. Methodology: The paper uses descriptive and comparative methods. Results: On the basis of the conducted research it was founded that the most represented form of tourist information is a virtual tour. Among the analysed cities, Kraków has the largest number of virtual tours. Discussion: The obtained results allowed us to state that geoportals and virtual walks allow for greater interaction with the user and provide great freedom of choice of content. Thus, they are a good tool for promoting cities. However, they cannot replace the penetration of real tourism space. There is a large dispersion of materials on the web, which increases the time of obtaining information by a potential tourist.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to make an attempt at discovering how events, as a communication channel of event marketing, complement promotional strategies of towns and regions through their psychological impact on tourists. The study is based on the concept of event marketing, which emphasises the undeniable role of emotions and experiences in the process of satisfying social needs. It can be assumed that the presented conclusions are true for all events dedicated to tourist promotion of the region. Providing theoretical foundations, the article demonstrates that self-government units are ever more often using event-based strategies, since they increasingly employ the model of competition in the tourism market based on tourists’ emotions and experiences rather than on the material resources of the place.

Opis:
Urban games and other forms of field games, such as Questing, are innovative ideas for presentation, disclosure and interpretation of natural and cultural heritage. The results of the survey presented in the study show that soon urban games can become an alternative to a traditional guided sightseeing of an urban area. There may be several reasons for such a choice: an interesting way of exploring a city, aspects of play and physical activity, better memorization of information, as well as the possibility of being independent from guide’s preferences, self-activity and taking the paths other than the ones which are popular among tourists. A well-prepared urban game is a part of the particular trend in tourism based on entertainment, emotions, education and engagement (4×e). Players become active participants in the adventure directed by the organizers, however, they solve the tasks using their own ideas and variants of routes. In Poland, urban games are used mainly in cognitive and business tourism based on integration parties and team building activities. The current offer of urban games on the tourism market in our country is limited. Examples of this particular form of sightseeing have been observed mostly in the biggest Polish cities. By monitoring the availability of individual events, their constant changing and adjusting to customers’ preferences can be noticed. The growing number of urban games introduced in Poland is not followed by the increase in tourists’ awareness that it is possible to use this form of city sightseeing. The source of knowledge about urban games is mainly the information provided by other people, as well as the Internet.
