    Współczesne rozwiązania w kolejnictwie, podobnie jak w innych dziedzinach, korzystają z rozwiązań technik informacyjnych (IT). Również w Instytucie Kolejnictwa prace rozwojowe i badania techniczne w coraz większym stopniu wymagają stosowania tych technologii i wykorzystują produkty z zakresu technik informacyjnych. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono przegląd wybranych rozwiązań, technik i metod badawczych wykorzystywanych w badaniach i pracach rozwojowych Instytutu Kolejnictwa. Autor przedstawił opinię o zakresie rozwiązań informatycznych stosowanych w Instytucie, wskazał obszary dobrego lub wystarczającego wsparcia zadań badawczych i rozwojowych oraz dziedziny, w których w związku ze zmianami obszaru zainteresowań Instytutu wynikających ze zmian na rynku transportu kolejowego w Polsce, zmian technologicznych w zakresie infrastruktury oraz taboru, obecny zakres zastosowań IT nie jest wystarczający
    Modern railway solutions increasingly take advantage of information technology (IT). Research and development activities carried out by the Railway Research Institute use these technologies and are based on IT products. This article features an overview of selected solutions, techniques and research methods used in the research and development work carried out at the Railway Research Institute. The author presented his opinion on the scope of solutions applied at the Railway Research Institute, identified areas of good or sufficient support of research and development tasks, and areas where the current range of IT application is not sufficient due to changes in the Railway Research Institute’s interest arising from changes in the railway transport market in Poland and technological changes in the infrastructure and rolling stock.

    Głównym celem pracy jest określenie efektywności technicznej technologii IT w bankach komercyjnych w Polsce. Badania obejmują 13 banków komercyjnych w latach 2014-2017. W pracy wykorzystano nieparametryczną metodę DEA. Zastosowano w niej model BCC o zmiennych efektach skali zorientowany na efekty. Nakładami technologii IT w DEA były takie zmienne, jak: wartość oprogramowania IT, wartość sprzętu teleinformatycznego i koszty eksploatacji technologii IT, efektami zaś liczba użytkowników bankowości internetowej i liczba użytkowników bankowości mobilnej. Z badań wynika, że spośród wszystkich uwzględnionych banków tylko sześć wykazywało maksymalną efektywność techniczną technologii IT równą 100%, pozostałe banki były relatywnie nieefektywne i odznaczały się wskaźnikami efektywności w przedziale od 22 do 99%.
    The main purpose of this study is to determine the technical efficiency of IT technology in commercial banks in Poland. The research covers 13 commercial banks over the period 2014‑2017. A non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with standard BCC, or variable returns to scale, model oriented on outputs was adopted. The DEA inputs for IT technology were represented by such variables as: value of IT software, value of ICT equipment and costs of IT technology exploitation, while DEA outputs included: number of Internet banking users and number of mobile banking users. According to the obtained results, only six out of all investigated banks achieved maximum efficiency scores for IT technology, i.e. equal to 100%, while the remaining banks were relatively inefficient with efficiency scores ranging from 22% to 99%.

    Czy konieczność podjęcia nauczania zdalnego była dużym zaskoczeniem dla nauczycieli? Czy potrafili poradzić sobie z nowoczesną technologią i sprostać oczekiwaniom uczniów i całego społeczeństwa? Poszukując odpowiedzi na te podstawowe dzisiaj pytania przeprowadzono sondaż opinii wśród nauczycieli i rodziców uczniów z klas I–III szkoły podstawowej. Uzyskane wyniki potwierdzają, że mimo pewnych trudności napotykanych w trakcie realizacji zadań dydaktycznych, nauczyciele zdali trudny dla nich egzamin.
    Was the necessity to start distance learning a big surprise for teachers? Were they able to cope with modern technology and meet the expectations of students and the whole society? Looking for answers to these basic questions today, an opinion poll was conducted among teachers and parents of students from grades 1–3 of primary school. The obtained results confirm that, despite some difficulties encountered in the implementation of the didactic tasks, the teachers passed an exam that was difficult for them.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyze the implementation of the Industry 4.0 technologies to improve eco-efficiency of manufacturing processes from the perspective of the development of innovative IT technologies in the circular economy. Design/methodology/approach: The research methods used in the article were desk research analysis of available source data on the functioning of Industry 4.0 technologies. Additionally, the author bases on the institutional and legal method. Analysis of selected documents and existing studies have allowed to obtain answers to the research questions and to describe the eco-efficiency of manufacturing processes. Findings: The Industry 4.0 technologies in the circular economy can contribute to improve the eco-efficiency of manufacturing processes. However, there are still some difficulties in creating the fully efficient processes in the circular economy. Research limitations/implications: The main limitation in carrying out the research is the difficult access to data about the quantity and quality of the eco-efficiency of manufacturing processes improving by the Industry 4.0 technologies. Practical implications: The results of analysis and the conclusions in this article can be used by managers of the different types of companies involved in the circular economy. The research impact upon the enterprise concentrating on the raising awareness of the benefits of using wide range of the Industry 4.0 technologies for improving the eco-efficiency of manufacturing processes. Originality/value: This article describes the benefits that can be obtained from the implementation of the Industry 4.0 technologies in the circular economy. The research issues related to development of the circular economy constitute a new area of research. The newly developed focus on improving eco-efficiency of the manufacturing processes by using the innovative IT technologies in the circular economy. The eco-efficiency of the manufacturing processes in the circular economy, examined from the point of view of the use of Industry 4.0 technologies, is an innovative research approach.
