    Opis:
    A canon of historical monuments, national holidays, names of streets, the provision of state financing to certain scientific and research centers, supporting initiatives to commemo- rate events and individuals, and building museums are only selected aspects of the historical policy of a state, approached as a detailed policy. This paper concerns another aspect of this policy, namely non-academic state education. A long-term educational reform was launched on September 1, 2009. It provides for the changes to be fully implemented by September 2014. They will concern a number of fields, but there is one that has become the core of a pe- culiar political conflict – the reform in teaching history. The paper presents the conflict, its turning points and, first and foremost, its rhetoric – the character of statements, selection of vocabulary and ways of evoking the right associations employed by both parties to the con- flict. The paper also discusses the assumptions of the reform and indicates the most important legal acts and statements by the Minister of National Education, thereby providing a legal framework for the arguments of the conflicting parties.

    Form Blessed Rev. Jerzy Popieluszko and the content of his sermons, preached in the church Stanislaus Kostka in Warsaw's Żoliborz already permanently etched in Polish history. Celebrated by him during martial law masses for the country attracted crowds of the faithful, and the content of homilies were full of patriotic and historical aspects. “Żoliborz preacher” in their teaching often referred to the events connected with the history of Poland, as well as profiles of genuine patriots to show a true and lasting values, as well as a remedy for man during the communist enslavement. Images of Polish history in the ministry, “the words” served Rev. Popieluszko to show the source of hope and witness the strength and, above all, to the example of the rebirth of the nation, even the most tragic moments of history. Using the historical aspects of the “martyr of communism”, he also wanted to show where lies the cause of the fall of man and the nation, and how, building on God, tormented society can be reborn.

    Educational influence is among the essential tasks of school activities. It should be performed by all the teachers and especially by form tutors. The modern model of the form tutor was formed during the interwar period. After Poland regained independence, it also gained the opportunity of creating its own schools and of conducting educational tasks in accordance with the needs of the country and the society. Educating the youth became one of the most important tasks. The duties of form tutors had to be redefined, too. The educational authorities issued the relevant regulations, which were popularised by educational magazines and introduced into schools under the guidance of school principals and teachers’ boards.

    Already in ancient times the past was treated as a “provider” of human attitude of models that are worthy of imitation and those to be avoided. This attitude towards history can be seen in Poland especially in the eighteenth century textbooks written at the time of the National Education Commission. Their authors focused on a few selected figures of rulers, also Egyptian, in order to build an image of an ideal and adverse ruler of the state.
    Przeszłość, już w głębokiej starożytności, traktowano jako „dostawcę” wzorów postaw ludzkich godnych do naśladowania i tych, których należało unikać. Taki stosunek do dziejów widoczny jest w Polsce zwłaszcza w osiemnastowiecznych podręcznikach powstałych w czasach działania Komisji Edukacji Narodowej. Ich autorzy skupiają się na kilku wybranych postaciach władców, także egipskich, by zbudować obraz idealnego i negatywnego rządcy państwa.

    Historia prawa to jedna z dyscyplin nauk prawnych. Studiowanie historii prawa (zwłaszcza polskiego) było ważne w okresie zaborów, ponieważ podkreślało tożsamość narodową. W tym czasie, w XIX wieku, wiodącym ośrodkiem naukowym był Uniwersytet Krakowski. To tam wykładano pierwsze przedmioty prawno-historyczne, dlatego też na tych uczelniach powstały pierwsze modele dydaktyczne. W XX wieku podejmowano wiele prób zmiany systemu szkolnictwa na potrzeby ówczesnej sytuacji. Szczególnie pamiętna wydaje się reforma z 1975 roku, która nie została pozytywnie przyjęta przez środowisko akademickie. Po ponad 40 latach niektóre uczelnie w Polsce nadal wzorują się na założeniach tego modelu. 
    History of law is one of the disciplines of legal science. Studying the history of law (especially the Polish one) was significant during the partitions, because it emphasized national identity. At that time, in the19th century, the leading research centre was the University of Cra- cow. It was there that the first legal and historical subjects were taught, which is why the first didactic models were developed at these universities. In the 20th century, to meet the needs of that times, many attempts were made to change the education system. Especially memorable seems to be the reform of 1975, which was not approved by the academic community. After over 40 years, some universities in Poland are still following the assumptions of that model.

Wnioski, jakie wyciągnął zarówno z przeszłości, jak i teraźniejszości, skłoniły go do stwierdzenia, że przyszłość należy do rewolucji neuronaukowej.
    The book entitled The Genius Within: Smart Pills, Brain Hacks and Adventures in Intelligence written by David Adam may easily be placed among the publications of acclaimed historians and science popularisers, such as Niall Ferguson, Yuval Noah Harari, and Bill Bryson. The author, a chemist by profession, takes the reader on a journey through the historical research on human intelligence. A lot of space in the book is, however, devoted to the presentation of some experiments that the author himself underwent. In the book’s conclusions, drawing of both the past and the present, the author claims that the future belongs to the neuroscience revolution.

    Postać bł. ks. Jerzego Popiełuszki i treści jego kazań, głoszonych w kościele św. Stanisława Kostki na warszawskim Żoliborzu już na stałe wpisały się w dzieje Polski. Odprawiane przez niego podczas stanu wojennego Msze św. za Ojczyznę przyciągały tłumy wiernych, a treści homilii obfitowały w aspekty historyczne i patriotyczne. „Żoliborski kaznodzieja” w swoim nauczaniu bardzo często odwoływał się do wydarzeń związanych z historią Polski, a także do sylwetek autentycznych patriotów, by ukazywać prawdziwe i trwałe wartości, a także remedium dla człowieka w czasie zniewolenia komunistycznego. Obrazy z historii Polski w posłudze „słowa” posłużyły ks. Popiełuszce do ukazania źródła nadziei i świadectwa siły, a przede wszystkim do przykładu odradzania się narodu nawet z najbardziej tragicznych dziejowych momentów. Posługując się aspektami historycznymi, „męczennik komunizmu”, chciał także ukazać, gdzie leżą przyczyny upadku człowieka i narodu oraz w jaki sposób, budując na Bogu, umęczone społeczeństwo może się odrodzić.

W ciągu całego okresu jej istnienia mury uczelni opuściło ponad 110 tysięcy absolwentów. Transport to jedna ze specjalności, która w różnym zakresie istnieje na Politechnice Gdańskiej od jej początku. W artykule przedstawiono krótką historię istnienia Politechniki Gdańskiej, zarys działalności naukowo-badawczej w dziedzinie transportu oraz charakterystykę kształcenia na kierunku Transport na Politechnice Gdańskiej.
    Over 111 years of existence the Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT) can be divided into three periods of its operation: the period under Prussian rule, the period of the Free City of Danzig and the period of the Republic of Poland. During its existence the number of students and academic teaching and research staff has grown many times as well as scope of researches has been expanded. During the whole period of its existence more than 110 thousand alumnus have graduated from the University. The Transport department is one of the specialties that has been existing at the GUT from the beginning. The article presents brief history of the Gdańsk University of Technology, the outline of scientific researches in the field of Transport and characteristics of education at this department.

    Over 111 years of existence Gdansk University of Technology (GUT) can be divided into three periods of its operation: the period under Prussian rule, the period of the Free City of Gdańsk and the period of the Republic of Poland. During its existence the University has grown many times the number of students and research staff - teaching, expanded lines of research. During the whole period of its existence the University walls left more than 110 thousand. graduates. Highway engineering is one of the specialties that exist to varying degrees at the GUT from the beginning. The article presents a brief history of the existence of the Technical University of Gdansk, the outline of scientific - research in the field of education and the characteristics of the highway engineering at the GUT.

    Opis:
    Jedną z metafor współczesnego świata jest metafora supermarketu. Zarazem supermarket to synonim sklepu gorszej jakości. Ale supermarket niesie ze sobą także komfort wyboru. Supermarket jako przestrzeń wyboru winien być inspiracją dla edukacji. Mam na myśli takie konstruowanie przez nauczyciela procesu, by pozwalał uczniowi na faktyczny wybór obszarów czy metod pracy. Owszem, nadal kluczową rolę w tym ujęciu pełni nauczyciel, ale jako pomysłodawca i animator atrakcyjnych zadań, z których uczeń wybiera te dla niego najbardziej pociągające. I to on – uczeń jest de facto głównym aktorem w tym procesie. W taki supermarketowy paradygmat wpisują się przedsięwzięcia, które opracowałam i wdrożyłam w Liceum Plastycznym w Poznaniu. Są to warsztaty „Uczeń bierny – uczeń aktywny”, innowacja pedagogiczna „Osobowość przedmiotu”, a także działanie projektowe „Barokowy supermarket” wieńczące kolejną innowację pedagogiczną „Gra o sztukę”.
    One of the metaphors of the modern world is the supermarket metaphor. On the one hand, a supermarket is synonymous the lesser quality. On the other hand, a supermarket brings with it the comfort of choice. The supermarket as a space for choice should be inspirational for education. I’m talking about construction, by the teacher, of a process that would allow the pupil real choice of areas or methods of work. The teacher still plays the key role in this scenario, but as an idea-giver and animator of attractive tasks, from which the pupil chooses those most appealing to him/her. And it is the pupil who is de facto the main actor in this process. The enterprises I developed and put into practice at the Liceum Plastyczne (High School of Fine Arts) in Poznan fit into such a supermarket paradigm. These were: “Passive pupil – active pupil” workshops, the pegadogical innovation “Personility of a subject”, and also “Baroque supermarket” project activities which completed another pedagogical innovation – “Playing for Art”.

    W artykule przedstawiono sylwetki pierwszych powojennych profesorów Wydziału Elektrycznego PG, którzy budowali zespoły naukowe, laboratoria, struktury organizacyjne do badań i nauczania konstrukcji maszyn elektrycznych, napędów elektrycznych, techniki cyfrowej i energoelektroniki. W wyniku ich owocnej działalności, niebywałego postępu technologicznego oraz przemian organizacyjnych funkcjonowania uczelni powstała na Wydziale Elektrotechniki i Automatyki, Katedra Energoelektroniki i Maszyn Elektrycznych.
    In this paper are described selected biographies of the first professors founding after the second world war the Electrical Engineering Faculty at the Gdansk University of Technology. Special concern is given to the development of laboratories, organization structures and research teams in the domain of electrical machines, electrical drives and power electronics. In result of their fruitful activity, enormous technological growth, and organization progress – the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines of the Electrical and Control Engineering Faculty was created.
