    The content of the paper examines the intermediate dialogue of the poetic and artistic text on the paradigm of A.G. Matoš’s poetry and the painting created by Ljudevit Šestić and Josip Leović. The main thought derives from Miroslav Šincel’s ascertainment how the works of Matoš „mirror the most important features of our symbolical-impressionistic modernism”. Šestić’s continental landscape impressionist painting and Leović’s symbolism in his painting, open therefore the possibility of intermediate style, content and biographical link (Tovarnik, Osijek, Đakovo, Paris, music...), keeping in mind the different positioning on the map of national cultural heritage. And with Matoš’s pictorial construction of lyrical text and his artistic sensibility, that is very much possible. In the field of stylistic link, purity of style can be read out, but also stylistic impurities caused by a personal and Homeland fate. This paper is of culturological nature.

    Opis:
    Is it possible to talk of mental patterns underlying aesthetic reflections, and has the constant recurrence of particular ideas in the area of aesthetics some deeper explanation? Structural aesthetics of music is an authorial research conception which enables interpretation of phenomena from the area of history of music aesthetics, and in this way provides its systematised picture. The conception uses the ideas of structural linguistics: binary phonological opposition and the historicalliterary process in the approach of Jan Mukařovský. The article also contains an example of using this conception in relation to the aesthetics of antiquity (sophists, Plato, Aristotle), Descartes and impressionism.

    Dzieła Adama Chmielowskiego do dziś nie są powszechnie znane, jakkolwiek relacje współczesnych mu i późniejszych malarzy dowodzą, iż pod wieloma względami był w historii polskiej sztuki prekursorem impresjonizmu i symbolizmu – zarówno w twórczości malarskiej, jak i teoretycznej („O istocie sztuki”). Był wybitnym kolorystą, koncentrował się na estetycznych i emocjonalnych aspektach krajobrazu, jego pejzaże o wyraźnych cechach synestetycznych (rytm, harmonia, nastrojowość; powtarzające się motywy, zestrojenia barwne) stanowią zaproszenie do kontemplacji.
    Adam Chmielowski’s artistic output has not been made widely known up to now, although the reports of his contemporary artists as well as the ones of later generations prove that in many respects he was a precursor of impressionism and symbolism in the history of Polish art – both in his artistic works and the theoretical ones („About the Essence of Art”). He was an outstanding colourist focused upon the aesthetic and emotional aspects of scenery; his landscapes of pronounced synesthetic values ( rhythm, harmony, feeling; repeated motifs, colour schemes) invite the viewers to contemplation.

Vladimir Jabotinskys Roman Die Fünf ist bei seinem Erscheinen in Deutschland (2012) als eine literarische Entdeckung gefeiert worden. In der Familiengeschichte der Milgroms aus dem Odessa der Jahre vor der Revolution von 1905 spiegeln sich Hoffnungen und Enttäuschungen der Revolution und der jüdischen Assimiliation, des Aufbruchs in eine neue Welt der Moderne und des Absturzes in eine Welt der brutalen Antimoderne. Der Beitrag untersucht die besonderen literarischen Strategien einer Arbeit an der Erinnerung: des Erzählens von Straßen, Plätzen und Räumen, der Analogisierung des politischen Geschehens mit einem Bühnengeschehen, der symbolistischen Überhöhung der Realität durch Rückgriff auf literarische Texte. Nichtnur aus politischen, auch aus erzählerischen Gründen wird Odessa in Jabotinkskys Roman also zu einem umstrittenen Erinnerungsort.

When Jabotinksys novel first appeared in Germany (2012) it was celebrated as a spectacular literary event. Jobtinsky’s Jewish family novel is situated in the decades before the revolution of 1905; it deals with revolutionary hope and disappointment, with Jewish assimiliation and the idea of a new liberal and tolerant world. It ends with a complete decline of these visions into brutal antimodernism. This article describes special narrative strategies in producing spaces of memory as streets, places and special public locations. Thereby political events appear as analogies to theater plays and also in a symbolistic framework. By this Jabotinskys novel has become a controversial space of memory not only for political but also literary reasons.
