    Opis:
    Digital twin (DT) is a solution for presenting reality in a virtual world. DTs have been discussed in the literature only recently. The aim of this work is to review and analyse literature connected to DTs. Under a systematic literature review the authors searched databases for the information how DTs can support organization operations and how they can support sustainability of companies. A literature review was performed according to a developed research methodology, which covers research questions and keywords identification, selection criteria and results analysis. Databases, such as Web of Science, Scopus and Science Direct, were searched. The titles, abstracts and keywords were searched for works related to digital twins, sustainable development and manufacturing processes. Moreover, the search was focused on real-time monitoring, data, decision-making etc. The keywords used in the searching process are specified in the methodology. Afterwards, quantitate and qualitative analysis were performed taking into account number of publication, year of publications, type of publication, based on keywords and available information concerning the papers. Deeper analysis was performed on available full texts of the papers. The main goal of this paper was to assess how much the specified problem is discussed in literature in the context of production organizations and real-time and what kind of topics are present in publications to indicate future research needs.

    The aim of the study is twofold. Firstly, it is believed to be the first study of its kind to explore the interconnectivity of the current stage of the EU's Digital Single Market (DSM)3 (European Commission, 2015c) and its development prospects within the framework of the EU and its Member States' SD approach. Secondly, it provides further evidence for the policy debate on the essential priorities of DSM deemed to be a stimulus to the future SD of the EU. It is an attempt to fill the existing gap in research conducted so far on SD and its correlation with the building process of the digital market in the EU. The task is to present by using the method of synthesis and deduction, the essence and milieu of the contemporary processes of building the DSM in the EU in the context of its potential influence for the SD of the EU and its Member States. Due to the interdisciplinary and complexity of the data analyses, mixed research methods were used to integrate quantitative and qualitative analyses and results.

    Artykuł ma charakter koncepcyjny. Jego cel określony jest w tezowo sformułowanym tytule. Ukazuje możliwości zastosowania modelu innowacyjności behawioralnej do wyjaśnienia mechanizmu symbiozy człowieka z technologią, przy jednoczesnym redukowaniu wielorakich zagrożeń dla dobrostanu. Powiązana z celem teza wskazuje, że akceleratorem procesu podążania do pozytywnej symbiozy człowieka z technologią jest kształtowanie i upowszechnianie uniwersalnej kompetencji, w postaci behawioralnej innowacyjności. Dowodzenie oparto na założeniu o konieczności zmiany paradygmatu myślenia o innowacyjności i wzbogaceniu jej wymiaru przedmiotowego wymiarem podmiotowym. W oparciu o studia literatury przedmiotu oraz ukazanie międzynarodowych zróżnicowań poziomu i dynamiki transformacji cyfrowej na podstawie wskaźników użytkowanych w światowych raportach cyfryzacji, autorzy wnioskują, że postulowana zmiana paradygmatu myślenia o innowacyjności może pełnić pozytywną dla dobrostanu rolę. Warunkiem koniecznym, lecz niewystarczającym redukowania wzrostu ryzyka symbiozy człowieka z technologiami cyfrowymi dla dobrostanu, jest orientacja innowacyjności behawioralnej na zrównoważony rozwój. Przy aktualnej skali przewartościowań i tempie oddziaływania transformacji cyfrowej na wszystkie wymiary ludzkiej egzystencji, celowe jest dlatego przechodzenie do strategii rozwoju zintegrowanego w formule postulowanej w artykule. Dla zapewnienia spójności innowacyjności behawioralnej z rozwojem zintegrowanym konieczne jest systemowe kształtowanie kompetencji innowacyjnych, w tym przez instytucje edukacji sformalizowanej, politykę rządów, instrumenty ekonomiczne, co wymaga dalszych badań.
    The paper is of a conceptual nature. Its purpose is specified in the thesis-worded title. It shows the possibilities of using a behavioral innovativeness model to explain the mechanism of human[1]technology symbiosis, while reducing multiple threats to human welfare. The thesis related to the purpose indicates that the shaping and dissemination of universal competence in the form of behavioral innovativeness are accelerators of the process of following the symbiosis between man and technology. The proof was based on the assumption that it is necessary to change the paradigm of thinking about innovativeness, and to enrich its objective dimension with a subjective one. Based on studies concerning the subject literature and the presentation of international differences in the level and dynamics of digital transformation on the basis of indicators used in global reports on digitization, the authors conclude that the postulated change in the paradigm of thinking about innovativeness may play a positive role in human welfare. A necessary but not sufficient condition for reducing the growth of human-digital symbiosis as a risk to human welfare is the postulated sustainability orientation of behavioral innovation. With the current scale of re-evaluation and the pace of the impact of digital transformation on all dimensions of human existence, it is inevitable to move to an integrated development strategy in the formula postulated in the article. In order to ensure the consistency of behavioral innovativeness with integrated development, it is necessary to systematically shape innovative competences, throughout, inter alia, formalized education institutions, government policy, and economic instruments, which requires further research.

    Ideas of sustainable development can be perceived as a multidisciplinary concept with the human being at its core. The social aspect of sustainable development aims at social justice which assumes participation of every individual in the act of shaping the social and economic reality. Therefore, one of the main goals of sustainable development is to prevent social exclusion which has now, at the time of the development of information and communication technology, incorporated the digital divide. The article reviews the concepts and origin of sustainable development, the origin of information society and civilisation, social exclusion including digital divide. Basing on the framework of social exclusion by Jan van Dijk and the data from the report “Social diagnosis 2015” an attempt has been made to analyse the state of digital divide in Poland. The purpose of the discussion was to present the existing reality of the digital divide across the Polish society and to draw attention to the increase of the secondary digital divide as opposed to the primary one. The secondary divide is associated with actual use of IT tools while using IT is the prerequisite of participation in the social, professional and cultural life, the qualification for participation in sustainable development from the point of view of both, individuals and countries.
    Idee rozwoju zrównoważonego można przedstawić jako wielodyscyplinarną koncepcje, w której sztandarowe miejsce zajmuje człowiek. Doktryna rozwoju zrównoważonego w aspekcie społecznym dąży do sprawiedliwości społecznej, zakładając partycypację każdego człowieka w kształtowaniu rzeczywistości społeczno-gospodarczej. Dlatego jednym z głównych celów rozwoju zrównoważonego jest przeciwdziałanie wykluczeniu społecznemu, które w momencie rozwoju technologii informacyjnej i telekomunikacyjnej rozszerzyło swoje rozważania o nierówności cyfrowe. W artykule dokonano przeglądu pojęć i genezy rozwoju zrównoważonego, powstania cywilizacji i społeczeństwa informacyjnego, wykluczenia społecznego, w tym cyfrowego. W oparciu o klasyfikację wymiarów wykluczenia społecznego wg Jana van Dijka oraz dane z raportu Diagnoza społeczna 2015 podjęto próbę przyjrzenia się sytuacji wykluczenia cyfrowego w Polsce. Celem było ukazanie obecnych realiów wykluczenia cyfrowego w społeczeństwie polskim oraz zwrócenie uwagi na wzrost wtórnego poziomu wykluczenia cyfrowego, w porównaniu do poziomu pierwotnego. Poziom wtórny związany jest z faktycznym wykorzystywaniem narzędzi informatycznych, a przecież korzystanie z nowych technologii jest warunkiem uczestniczenia w życiu zarówno społecznym, zawodowym, jak i kulturalnym. Jest to warunek udziału w zrównoważonym rozwoju, tak z punktu widzenia jednostki, jak i państw.

    Reviewing the current state of knowledge on sustainable production, this paper opens the Special Section entitled “Sustainability in production in the context of Industry 4.0”. The fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), which embodies a vision for the future system of manufacturing (production), focuses on how to use contemporary methods (i.e. computerization, robotization, automation, new business models, etc.) to integrate all manufacturing industry systems to achieve sustainability. The idea was introduced in 2011 by the German government to promote automation in manufacturing. This paper shows the state of the art in the application of modern methods in sustainable manufacturing in the context of Industry 4.0. The authors review the past and current state of knowledge in this regard and describe the known limitations, directions for further research, and industrial applications of the most promising ideas and technologies.
